What has his breeder recomended? Large breeds are kept on Puppy food much longer then smaller ones. My MIL had her Newf on puppy until she over 14 months old, as recomended by her breeder. You can get big bags of every kind of food from places like Pet Barn and most other places that sell pet food. Supermarkets often don't sell the large bags and its often more expensive, at least from what I have found.

I have a very slim Lab and I get comments all the time. Just ignore it Deelee, people are more use to seeing fat dogs then nice healthy slim ones

My Lab is a shocker for hair loss, I groom him often and it dosn't seem to help. I am cleaning up after him more then the Samoyeds and thats saying something and I have three in the house at the moment :D

Longest I have done for a one day was about 5 hours one way but I don't think I would do it again and thankfully I always have another driver. I would happily drive any distance provided i had another driver with me and the ability to camp over night. I love road trips and getting to the show is half the fun
