I got mine today

Do you get the colour they show in the pic or is it random? I've never used this site before

Yay, one XL dog crate on its way. Thanks for the link

Poor darling, Samoyeds need so much love and affection, this boy sounds like now that he has someone to love him he isn't about to let her go. Personally I would be getting a behavourist in to assess the situation asap. I would also be crating in the garage or house so he dosn't make a habit out of getting out and your friend needs to do something about her fencing.

Offcause you can do it again, Indi is awesome!!! I will be there with the Sammies as well. At least this time I will be showing my own dogs . . . .last two Canberra shows I ended up in the ring and my dogs where not even entered. Hows that for tragic

At no point did anyone have a go at parents who do the right thing. For heavens sake settle down. We have just as much right to vent about parents who do the wrong thing as someone who wants to have a vent about an off lead dog or someone driving badly.

I dont think I would sell someone a dog with a list like that. Sorry. Maybe when the child/children are older it would be a better idea but I dont know......

Yep that's all you need to do. Also kids also follow instruction better when you tell them what to do; rather than what not to do. Say 'walk slowly please' rather than 'don't run'. We (DOLers) like dogs a lot; other people don't necessarily. People who have never grown up around dogs are unlikely to teach their children how to behave around dogs. That is comon sense. I frequently walk my dog up to the school gates and we stand there while several hundred children (primary and infants) go past. And I have not had one problem using the hand out and 'stop' method. All the kids have been gentle with my dog. It makes me sad to hear people talk about children with such venom we were all kids once! But I guess a lot of people on here were perfect when they were a kid No I wasnt perfect but I can tell you I was never allowed to run up and pat a strange dog without permission. My parents taught us to always ask before patting another persons dog and never run up screaming. How difficult is it for people to teach their children manners and safety? No, its not the childs fault, its the parents.

I'm not a child person and I get seriously peeved when children run up and start messing with my dogs but I am always happy for kids or their parents who come over and politely ask to pat. Recently at a show I had my older boy on the table and was cutting his nails. Two children came barging over and pulled him out of the position he was in (I could have really hurt him) and started hugging and patting him. Their father was a few steps away just watching doing nothing. I was furious, how lucky those children were that Misty is friendly. Very rude! What people don't seem to realise is dogs are not public property, just because they are out in pulic dosn't mean you can come charging up without any regard for peoples personal space and start messing with the dog! Sorry little bit of a rant there

My Lab has done this a few times. First time, no reason we could find, vet checked him out and nothing obviously wrong, he got over it in a few hours. Second time, scorpian bite. Started with drooling and then his face swelled. Thrid time, gastro

You can get hair off clothes now??? Wow I gave up on that years ago :D Seriously though, aside from doing a load of just water after washing doggie things and then putting your stuff in, your pretty much going to have to except your fate.

Lestat's a drooler, big long strings of it that pool on the floor and then I slip in it :D
-
I bought mine second hand and scored it for $150 :D But I don't know if I just got really lucky or not
-
Mine love the rain. Lestat the Lab wears a coat but the Sammies don't, I actually think they enjoy it more because they get so muddy

Sounds like a Samoyed I looked after for awhile, nearly drove me crazy, my poor neighbours..... I have nothing against de-barking. After working in kennels and vet practises, living next door too and looking after extreme barkers I can totally understand why people do it and honnestly I thank them for having the good grace to do something about it instead to driving everyone else around them crazy.

Ouch, nasty situation to be in Newmum I might have missed something here but did the breeder know about the problem before you got the puppy? And if they did, were you told about it? Personally I would send the pup back and get a refund. If you decide you can't do this (and no one would blame you if you couldn't) the first thing I would be doing would be looking further at the throat issue. If you arn't happy with the vets you are seeing keep looking until you find someone who will listen, you'll get there eventually. Oh and as for food, have you tried mixing tuna brine or freash meat in with the kibble? One of my Sammies was a real monster about food until he grew up and this always got him eating.

Liberty Ultra Force. Never dried a ST with it but it does a good job with the Samoyeds

Clipped Saki's Claw Too Close To The Quick
Bjelkier replied to Sam&Saki's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Bar soap, press her claw into it, it should stop the bleeding Otherwise it should be fine. -
No way would I buy a dog on limited without it's papers! And if someone told me to pay extra for the papers I would be running a mile.

I Fell In Love With A Greyhound Yesterday
Bjelkier replied to SeeGee's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm another Grey lover, one day owner My first grey experiance was with a beautiful ex racer called Sally who borded at the kennels I was working at. Such a darling older girl, she would rest her head on my leg and close her eyes for pats. I was amazed just how big they actually are and was totally sucked in by their gentle nature. Sally was later joined by a younger girl who was just as beautiful. Even my OH who isn't a sighthound person loves the greys. We would love to get a GAP grey (as well as an Afghan and a Borzoi) one day but the fencing needs a serious overhaul first. -
I was just after some personal oppinions on the Altegra gazebos. I have had the delux Oztrail for ages but I do have a few issues with it and the Altegra ones seem pretty tough. Are the overly heavy? And what is the material like for the canopy, does it get really hot like the oztrail ones do (at least IMO)? Are they sturdy in bad weather? Thanks

Beautiful photos I love the first one

What a crap generalisation to make! And what a way to treat someone who you're supposed to be helping! Unbelievable. Guess I should just give up on trialling Jedi - what was I thinking?! I know, it really annoyed me at the time too.
