I have a compact and a compact pavilion. Havnt got a clue how big they are but both fit easily into a standard sedan boot with room to spare, also we have never had any issues with it flying away but we always make sure that it properly tied down.

Also a Canberra person. I unfortunatly have had to use the after hours place and to be honnest I wasnt that impressed but hey, they saved the cat in the end so thats what matters. They wont let you in the door though without paying first.....so be ready for that. Vets I have liked in the area would be Peter Burgess in Ainslie, he's brilliant! Very small practise but he's been in it forever. Also West Queanbeyan, couldn't reccomend them more

I don't know about the oztrail gazebo inner tent things, we just have an oztrail tent that is fantastic! And if you do use a generator as other have said please don't keep it running all night, drives people insane. Things you will need if there is no power: Portable gas cooker and extra bottles so you can still have dinner! Portable camping lights and a good torch for those nighttime toilet runs incase the grounds don't have power (this happens a lot!) Battery packs have saved our butt a number of times when we needed that little extra bit of power If there is power get a really long extrention cord or two, sometimes you have to camp a long way from the power sorce. Also something people seem to forget about is something to clean your dishes in and if you have too have a sponge bath incase there are no showers! (We learn't about that the hard way ) This is how we started out: And this is us (we did have friends with us) now and it dosn't show the three tents either: We love camping at shows, it's so much fun and you meet some really lovely people.

Honnestly I've not found it any different from any other show I've been too. There are good and bad everywhere.

This is very true. I have some friends (i use the term rather loosely now....) who really wanted a puppy. I gave them the puppy farm talk, the names and numbers of various breeders, the contact info for rescues in their area and because they didn't want to wait they got a puppy from a frigging pet store! Oh but apparently it was ok becuase the puppy only came in that day....they didn't believe me when I told them that this wasn't the issue, it's the conditions the parents are kept in, the lack of health testing is...... They got another Petstore puppy 2 months later :D

Walking/exercising Dogs In The Hot Weather
Bjelkier replied to shells's topic in General Dog Discussion
Mine are the same, no way would I walk them in the heat! They ususally spend the nights outside playing and zooming around the house, it seems to work for them. -
Oooh I just remembered a good one. Not my dog but a friends. One night I was walking with my friend to meet her boyfriend. It was winter and very dark. We saw the boyfriend from a distance and he has his Rottie Rio with him, he was an amazing dog, very calm and gentle, never so much as raised an eyebrow to anyone. My friend didn't think anything of it and ran full pelt at her boyfriend. Just as she got near him Rio launched out and pinned her to the ground, he had her head in his mouth. He didn't hurt her at all but she certainly wasn't getting up with a Rottie sitting on her chest. He moved the moment the boyfriend told him too. Lesson learnt, she never ran up to anyone in the dark again!
