  1. The dry cleaners sent a bag of dog treats back with my show suits that i had left in the pockets

  3. Ah Bermie, what soaked memories I will show in the rain even with fluffy white dogs ;) Most of the time I will wear my normal show clothes but I have been known to wear gumboots under jeans if it's really muddy or to even kick my shoes off and run around the ring with water covering my ankles
  4. I fail to see how that shows baboon's raising the dogs. All I can see is the dogs and the baboon's living in the area peacefully.
  5. This Also - how many messages has your friend left? If she has only left 1 or 2, I would keep ringing. The breeder may have not got the message and have honestly posted the papers. I agree with the abve comments. It is totally possible that the breeder did in fact send the papers and they have gone missing. I had my prefix items go missing twice thanks to Australia Post

    Nawwww thanks SP :D
  7. Misty has allergies and although I'm not desexing him only due to this it is a major factor in my decision not to breed with him.
  8. I'm only new to all this but I would get the dog's sperm tested first of all and then if he's still a dud (so to speak) I would inform the breeder and provided they had no issue with it I would cut my losses, pet the dog out and try again. Did you get this dog as a puppy or an adult?
  9. I have two entire males here with a bitch and we have no issues. But I don't leave them running together when I'm out just incase.
  10. Actually this is a good point, you did get the dog for less. If you agreed to get the hips done then just because you dont want to use the dog dosn't mean the breeder should suffer. You did, after all, buy him on a breeders terms. Is there a contract?
  11. The breeder might wish to know the hip scores so they can get an over all idea of how the litter ended up but I think its a bit rich asking you to pay for it. It is possible the chip moved, did the vet search for it in other parts of the body? And did you ever sign any microshipping paper work?
  12. I've got a litter planned for later on this year and everyone who has contacted me gets the same questionaire. It's amazing how many dodgy people it's weeded out already! And those who don't send it back proove to me they arn't actually interested so much as tire kicking. And on the plus side it's already found me four wonderful puppy buyers.
  13. It's not a silly question at all. Many years ago I had a desexed male tie our bitch, shocked the s**t out of me at the time I an tell you I now have another entire girl and a desexed dog. She likes to hump the male all the time she is in, not that he minds at all ;)
  14. Samoyeds don't require testing to register a litter but about 90% of breeders do test for ED and HD EDT, Oops, wrote 99 instead of 90
  15. A friends dogs like to sing when she does, it's aborable. And I must be one of the only people that enjoys the Mals singing at shows. I don't believe a howling dog is a sad dog.

  17. My mum's first dog was a Weim too but she didn't cope well at all. We went for a GR after that and things went much better. A Lab was my first dog so not exactly a difficult breed. Oddly enough I now never want another, I like the challenge of my Samoyeds What's challenging about Samoyeds? Aside from the grooming. They always come across as lovely, friendly, happy dogs who are willing to please. Not that I know very many but that's the impression I get. Are they not like that? You're right, they are very happy, friendly and lovely but I would never say they are an easy dog to own. The coat alone would be enough to put many owners off. Sammie's are a Spitz breed, they're independant thinkers. Training, although do-able is a challenge. They pick things up very quickly but getting consistant work from them takes a good deal of work, they like to do their own thing. I would say they have a real issue with selective deafness too.

  19. A fat mutt of some kind. Maybe it has some Corgi in it but otherwise I have no idea
  20. Happy Birthday Loki Another vote for new pics
  21. Here is the previous thread Prefix Link
  22. So if someone to has a large number of dogs is a farmer, does that make people who breed their pets in their back yard are BYB's? I have no issue with someone who keeps a large number of dogs provided they are healthy, well cared for and exercised often. And if this means you need kennel staff then so be it. I have known people who keep large numbers of dogs who get more attention then others who only keep a few.
  23. Thanks for the advice! I show horses on the weekends - zero time for dog showing to be honest. It is not something I am highly interested in. BUT.. I do want to breed healthy, correct dogs with good temperaments. Getting the stud prefix etc, is the easy part - the hard part is the knowledge of breeding itself! So, how does one breed a bitch who doesnt bleed? How will you know how many days along she is in her cycle? You take her to the vet and get a progesterone test done, you will then know whe she is ready to mate
