My import was delayed by a number of days and he ended up having to drive to Prague because he couldn't fly out from Poland. It happens, flying dogs is a PITA sometimes. Sorry you had such a bad experiance.

I have often been cheered on by people I have never met before when I win and I do the same for others. Only last weekend a lady I have never even seen before congradulated me on my Minors BOB.

I had to help out a friend recently when her dog hung itself on the fence. Tragic.... All my dogs are naked, not only will the coat be ruined but I wont take the risk.

They sound lovely and a lot like the Samoyeds actually. Mr Bjelkier and I forsee a OES in our future one day ;) Thanks

I'm not showing as much this year due to lack of money and it's annoying because my latest dog is winning heaps and I would love to have him out more. It's just getting too expensive to travel long distances every week with the cost of fuel, food, entries etc.... I wont give it up but I wont be showing large numbers of dogs or going interstate alot any time soon.

Yeah that was something else I was worried about, showing two dogs in different groups is a PITA. Mr Bjelkier offered to show it as long as I groomed Another few questions about them ... sorry How do they go with other dogs? And with the coat, I know they are often shaved as pets but does this ruin the coat if you wanted to grow it back later?

I knew of two Labs who were drowed a few years back by a Roo.

Instead of destroying the dogs coat why dont you get a high powered dryer and go over every inch of the dog? It's what a lot of people do with coated breeds and it works if you do it every day.

Wow, thats a lot of work As much as I would love to show one it looks like a pet is much more my level at this point, I just wouldn't have the time or energy to do everything with an OES and the Samoyeds before a show. Thank you Sparky, that was really helpful

I have picked all my show dogs myself with the breeders giving me tips on which pups they think will turn out the best, they know their lines much better then I do. The only dog that picked us was our first Samoyed and he was only going to be a pet so I wasn't too worried about how good he looked. Turns out he ended up a nice looking and a good show dog.

None of mine even woke up.

My MIL's Newfs do it all the time, they like the cool ground and it's never caused them any harm.

I replied to you on the 9th Christine. Just give breeders some time to reply, a lot of them show and dont check email often. Or you could try calling them.

Samoyeds and a Lab

I love my boys. The girls are lovely but I find it easier to bond with boys.

I have three entire male Samoyeds and there is no difference between them and my desexed Lab. In fact my Lab is more likely to hump and be painful when the girls are in season.

A bit of a brag for my Rising Star Dante, he did me proud again today getting 2nd in Sweeps, BOB, Minor Puppy in Group and Runner Up In Group!!! (please excuse my crappy hair in the last pic, the weather was crazy!)

I know quite a few people who do it, in my breed and others.
