  2. I'd have to say Afghans, OES and Samoyeds. I think it's all the fur flying that makes it extra awesome
  3. The Samoyeds play very differently with each other then they do with the Lab. Samoyeds are very tactile and do what I call the bear attack when they stand on their back legs and slamm their font legs into the other dogs, it looks pretty vicious but they love it. Poor Lestat has no idea what's going on Any other Samoyed they have met they understand the play style, but when Dante met Poocow's Aussie Flynn he had no idea what Flynn was on about. The look on his face was priceless
  4. Congrats A little big of a brag from me I've just sent the Ch. paper work off for my 10 month old Ch. Apolar Gun Slinger, who would have had his title at 9 months if I had been paying attention He's had a great year with multible classes in group and in show and multible RUBIG's out of the Minor and Puppy classes under Australian and International judges. So proud of my beautiful boy.
  5. I got a hold of someone at DOgs NSW and I can send his CC's off now and get his title.
  6. Never mind, I got the answer :D
  7. Can someone help me out here. I have a 10 month old here sitting on 153 points and I have been advised by a number of people that with the new rules I can apply for his Ch. title. However some people are telling me that it's only after the 1st of Jan 2012 and I will need one CC after that date to claim. Now I know this is true for the supreme but I can't find anything stating this is the case for the CH. I'm in NSW if that makes any difference. So far I have tried calling the club but am yet to get to anyone who actually knows.....
  8. With the Samoyeds I have gotten: White Malamute White Sibe Long haired Malamute Long coated Sibe Siberian Malamute (that was my favourite) Polar Bear Snow Dog Giant Jap Spitz And then there is the pronounciation of Samoyed. Most people say Sam-oyed, like annoyed. This is techincally incorrect although almost every Australian I know does it, including myself at times It's said either sam-e-yed or sa-moy-ed
  9. I can't pick just one, so here are my top favs at the moment.
  10. My MIL had an old street cat who would kill rabbits and hares. He was an amazing hunter, when he died we had a lot more rabbits on the property.
  11. Use a dryer to go over every inch of her body. A good quality one will part the hair easily so you can see the skin.
  12. Same thing happened to my friends Shih Tzu. He got into the pool and stuck under the cover and drowned. And I agree, leave the cover off, safer for the dog.
  13. *Intelligent *Affecionate *Cheeky *Good with people and other animals *Confident I have Samoyeds and IMO this is them exactly. I'm also very interested in OES and Havanese and although I don't know the breeds very well I'd say they had a least a few of these traits, if not all.
  14. After living next to a GSP that never stopped barking I am in favour of it for really bad barkers.
  15. I wouldn't be too sure about that. I have a boy here who had a few shaved patches in May last year and the hair is still trying to grow back. Bobby you might want to look into getting some royal jelly shampoo. It helps the coat grow back faster.
  16. Sorry to hear that Bobby. Your poor boy. I would have been out for blood if someone left my Samoyeds in that condition Maybe look at getting him a shirt to wear outside and some suncream so he wont burn.

    Samoyed

I'm with the others, come join us in the JS/Sam thread :D
  18. He can be doing anything from laying down, to playing, to just sitting somewhere inside, it's totally random. The pollen is something I have been thinking might be a possibility, the have a lot of clover and dandilions (SP?) in the yard recently.
