The NSW Samoyed club will be there for anyone interested in the breed :)

Gorgeous! Love the names....hope the new owners keep them.....very "cool". ;) Thank you Sadly the new owners aren't interested in keeping their names We have a Lexie, Skeeter and a possible Diego (jury is still out on that one apparently) instead. I'll be keeping the names for my boy and girl though. I've had a great time thinking up pedigree names that fit the GOT theme :D

I agree -
I paid for mine via oz entries but I don't have my numbers yet. Usually I don't get Canberra numbers until the week of the show.

Do People With Full Coated Breeds Use Coats In Winter?

My Lab wears a coat all winter long he looses too much condition if he doesn't. -

Ah no, she'll be fine. I have Sammy puppies in - degree weather and they are fine. Enjoy your snuggles while you can. ;) -
No. I suspect it would be very hard to learn the original Samoyede tribe language. I could learn Russian and one day I would like too (currently a little too busy brushing up on my Finnish) but the country of development is England and obviously I speak English.

I'm sorry BB RIP little girl

Congrats on the new arrivals. Hope your little girl makes it. Pups are 4 weeks tomorrow and are just the cutest little polar bears.

You're not wrong there. I've had times that I've missed emails for one reason or another and have noticed it later, or it goes to the junk email box (this seems to happen often with free email accounts) which I almost never check or I've had internet issues ( I live in the country and our connection isn't great). JaCaMa - A week is nothing and people are busy. Take my situation for example. I currently have a 3 week old litter on the ground, I work from home, I do volenteer work for our breed club, I've been sick for over a week and I have three other adult dogs who need attention, not to mention daily household chores. I don't have much time to be sitting down and reply to emails so they do get put off for a time, nor do I really want to be returning a phone call when I have a sore throat. Thankfully my puppy people are super understanding and have been great about late puppy photos and such. Keep trying to contact people and don't limit yourself to one state, you could end up waiting a very long time for a puppy if you do. Also make sure you read breeders websites very closely. I can't stand it when I get an email (or worse a phone call when I have clearly stated I would rather people email me) from someone who says they have been looking for a puppy, looked at my website and then go on to ask a bunch of questions that could have been answered by my website.

What Is The Age Difference Between Your Dogs?
Bjelkier replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I feel like you should be able to choose more than one response if you want to go back and vote (and I could also be wrong!!)! Sorry about your 4 year old you have a busy house from the sounds of it!!! How do you manage the age differences? I can't say I do much to manage them at all they seem to have it sorted between them. The dogs run as a pack and all get along great. My Lab ( the 9 year old) isn't as active as the younger Samoyeds but they don't annoy him when he wants to be left alone. The only issue I know we will have with the youngest dog and bitch in the show ring in baby puppy and they will compete against one another but after that we can put them in different classes. -

I didn't vote because I have a number of dogs. Eldest is 9, I lost my 4 year old a few months ago, my next is 3, then 1 and my newest two are 3 weeks old. -
People try to remove it? With three Samoyeds a Lab (whose hair is so much worse to remove) and two cats in one house I've given up trying to stay hair free. It's impossible.

Congrats on the new arrivals LizT, they are very cute

Congrats PomsNZ and hope the little one pulls through.

Good luck with the rest of them.

Any Pom puppies yet?

There was and I found it. Apparently yogurt is his thing and that mixed with puppy milk and mince is just the best thing ever. He's now eating like a little piggie along with all the others and going great :D
-
He's pooping normally. I gave him a little natural yogurt earlier which he loved and he then had a big feed from mum. He's now walking around the box and he had a quick chew on one of the toys. Not sure what this kid is playing at
-
His temp is fine, gum colour normal, they were wormed last week, no sign of anything wrong with the roof of the mouth or the tongue. He was eating really well until mum started drying up. Thanks for the adice, I'll take him to the vet tomorrow to see if they can work anything out. EDT I did notice that his teeth are coming through, could this be whats stopping him?

I have a litter of 3 week old puppies who I've had to start introducing solids too, (pink slushies), they all love it and are eating very well except for one puppy. He will taste it and then wont take anymore, fair enough, I figured he wasn't ready yet.But he's now also decided that the milk bar is too much effort as well. He's hungry and goes quickly over to mum when she gets in the box and fights his brothers and sisters for a boob but then when it comes to sucking if the boob isn't super full he gives up. Problem is mum is getting sick of feeding them and isn't producing much milk anymore. I've tried putting him on her first but he wont feed without the others with him, so I put one of the others on with him and that sort of works but when the boob dosn't pour milk at him and gives up soon after. He lost a little weight a few days ago but we managed to get him back up to being about 90 or so grams lighter then the others. This is my first litter so I have no idea if this is normal or not and I've had a hell of a time getting through to my girls breeder so I'm hoping someone on here has a bright idea to get this kid eating! (If he's not eating well by tomorrow he will be going to the vets for a check)

I'm female, tattooed, metalhead so I guess it would be more stereotyped if I owned a bull breed of some kind or a mal perhaps. Mr Bjelkier looks like a viking so it's pretty funny to see him with his white fluffy dogs.

Congrats on the new Whippet arrivals. RIP to the little ones who didn't make it
