I got my numbers today but no breed break down -
Light staining like that can be from a lot of different things. I've had Samoyeds get staining from teething, diet, injury and dirt/dust/allergies. What are you feeding the puppy and have you spoken to the breeder and asked what they think?
-
My Lab is a total guts and will inhale food and eat anything he's given. Thw Samoyeds like food and will happily work for a favourite treat but all of them have days when they will willingly miss a meal. None of my current Sams inhale their food either.

Congratulations!

Yes I am accepting that they will kill, they're DOGS! My breed is very old and after such a long time being used as a hunting/herding/watch dog those instincts will be very deeply ingrained in the dogs temperament and I'm not going to try to breed that out of them because they take out the odd innocent animal. Off cause I don't encourage it. They are trained very well and I can call every single one of them off the chase or prey but in the end they will do what dogs do and I can't keep an eye on them 24/7. I live on a property and we have a number of creatures getting into the yard mostly birds, lizards, possums, rats, rabbits and mice and yes, they have caught them on occasion. I don't praise them or allow them too go out chasing roo's or harassing animals, they stay on lead when they are walked and if there is an animal in the yard I'll make sure it's out before I let the dogs out. What the hell else can I do????

Exactly. All my dogs have killed various lizards, mice, rabbits, birds etc. I don't like it but I'm not going to punish them for doing what comes naturally.

Just A Question I Saw On Another Forum

And people wonder why breeders feel the need for contracts. Glad you find it so funny. I'd find it funny too, obviously the breeder doesn't care too much if they haven't kept in contact about this mystery litter they sprung on the buyer after they purchased it! You don't know that the breeder hasn't kept in contact or asked. Where is that written? (And for the record I don't agree with what the breeder said about having a litter, I'm speaking about dishonesty) I would think of the breeder kept in contact and wanted a litter, the lack of uterus would be a factor in conversation. Maybe. But I don't constantly ask my puppy people if the dog's desexed every time I speak with them because I trust them to do what we agreed on. From the limited details we have - they didn't agree on anything? The breeder announced the puppy someone bought would be used for breeding (which to me, screams BYB anyway), and buyer didn't sign anything agreeing to this. They didn't do anything wrong in desexing their dog, which they bought (and is their property to do what they want with). I take back what I said. I didn't noticed the first part about the breeder asking about breeding after purchasing the puppy. That will teach me to not read things correctly. Ignore what I said -

I Sometimes Wonder Why People Do What They Do..

I saw something similar the other day. A girl playing fetch with her off leash dog on a small grass strip between McDonalds and a car dealership and on a main road. Meanwhile there's a huge oval just up the road. Idiot -
I sent my puppies home with: Vaccination and worming certs microchip paperwork (which we filled out when they picked up puppy) diet info and food for a week info on coat care/grooming tools/nails info on training/behaviour/and links to helpful websites and local training clubs bowl toys comb blanket with litter/mum smells collar and lead emailed the new owners all the photos of puppy growing up. The rego papers had to be sent out a few days later as we and the other show puppy person had special names for our puppies and I didn't know which puppies would be going into the show ring until they were around 8 weeks old.

Great start Elsie&Hudson I really enjoy taking show pics myself but as I'm still new to photography I'm still not sure what settings are best. I find I'm trying out a lot of different things until I find something I really like. So often I'll find myself twisted in some silly shape to get low to the ground but not get horribly covered in mud  Oh and if there are costume sweeps on make sure you're around with the camera. I've caught some hilarious moments over the years.

Yep my boys Dante and Beowulf are very much my dogs. Daenerys has been Mr Bjelkiers girl from the moment she could walk. Alchemy's favourite human is a friend of ours who owns Bullmastiffs, she goes gaga for her Aunty Stace  Lestat will go for anyone with food and a cuddle.

I grew up with gundogs and showed Newfies before getting the Samoyeds. It was the beauty of the Samoyeds that made me feel in love with them but after some research I realised they're a perfect breed for us. My childhood dream breeds were Standard Poodles, Afghan or an OES and the only one of those breeds I could own now would be the OES. I'l have Sams till the day I die but I wouldn't say no to having a Havanese or an OES one day.

I have 5 but have had 8 at one point. I think 6 is a manageable number for us

I was going to say the exact same thing stans mum. I know you love this puppy Donatella but this co ownership thing doesn't sound very fair to me & I wouldn't be entering into it at all.I am not an experienced breeder but you would be surprised how many "lovely little puppies" you could fall in love with with a lot less baggage than this one if you bide your time & keep looking. That's if you can't own him outright. And I will say wait and really say what the breeder is like- this may be a very genuine case of the breeder wanting to keep genetics available but not being able to do it themselves. I agree. It could work out just fine. I know a number of breeders who have puppies out with other families that they have on breeding rights and it's worked well for all involved.

That is fantastic! I've always wanted a white standard poodle I could clip and colour in strange ways  I really don't know why people think it's hurting the dogs

I also agree with a possible obstruction. What you described sounds a lot like what my dog use to do when he had obstructions. -
His temp is fine and the vet was the one who suggested a chiro appt.

He's booked in with Sandra on Monday afternoon so fingers crossed she'll be able to help him
