I've never had a problem. When I was first interested in getting my own breed to show I contacted a Lapphund breeder and was offered a main reg male, pick of the litter. They were quite rare at the time. I'm after another rare breed now and I'm getting a main reg bitch.

Yes I do think I was. I was asked plenty of questions about our home/working life, our intentions with the dog, our current living conditions. Exactly the same things I ask my puppy people. I got a main reg male and then went on to get a bitch. I wasn't in the loop at the time, I didn't know anyone in the breed and I got the first dog I was after

What stringent conditions are breeders putting on dogs? Most of us just want the right home for our puppies

I've never had issues with my entire bitches. A friend however imported a bitch and all hell broke lose with one of her resident girls. This girl got along with the other two girls but one remained an issue. I think if you're prepared to separate if you have too and manage them if something does go wrong I it's worth doing. If I decide to import again I'd like to bring in a girl.

For some of us (like myself) it is. Check to see what the breeder has stated on the website or contact info about how they would like to be contacted. I hate it when someone leaves me a pissy message on my mobile because I haven't gotten back to them. Not much I can do when I don't get the message in the first place. And I second the heading off to a dog show to meet some breeders. It's a great way to get to know people in the breed and maybe hear about future litters. Also it might be worth joining the state breed club. Another great way to find out about puppies.

I also requested videos Sure thing. This is Gabe, he does agility Agility Bulldog Also an agility Bulldog My link And another one (this dog has a heap of titles) My link You can't paint and entire breed by a few bad examples. I know some Bulldogs down here who are quiet energetic. They have no issues keeping up with my Samoyeds in the generals ring. But wouldnt it be great if those examples were the norm? Wouldn't it be great if someone can come to a forum and say my dog cant walk very far without being in distress and have the normal response be thats not typical instead of it being typical? To me they are normal. As I pointed out, the Bulldogs I'm use to seeing can move very happily. What Bulldog person came on here saying their dog couldn't move? I've seen people who don't own Bulldogs making comments about a breed they don't own. I'm not saying that the whole breed is fine but I am saying that seeing one or two bad examples isn't a good enough reason to blanket an entire breed as unhealthy. Well thats true but its been every bull dog I have seen and I love them they are awesome temperament wise and I hope that maybe the bad breeders will get run out of the breeding business and let the professionals do it. And every Bulldog you met was a pedigree was it? How many dogs are we talking about here? I hope bad breeders vanish too. It would be wonderful.

Without a doubt, the dog was a mess. I've never seen it happen to a dog at a show either but then none of the dogs I've seen at shows looked anything like this animal.

Pshwar!! Not good enough, definitely not good enough. Steve, as you are in agreement with Megan, please tell me which breeds need airconditioning to survive in 30 degrees? Don't say pekingese. There is far too much generalisation. Someone heard something from someone who read it in the paper and so it is passed on. But no one seems to know any stats about it. My vet told me pugs' eyes fall out. On questioning, he told me he had never seen it happen, he had never been told by anyone he knew that they saw it happen. However, he knew it was true. So don't tell me about unhealthy breeds, show me the money. I have seen it happen unfortunately, in fact I was in surgery assisting. It had happened to the other eye too. However this pug was a very over done example of the breed, shocking eyes.

Same :) I know some beautitful rottweilers. People should see these guys herd sheep - most people have no idea how capable and versatile they are. I'm the same. Never met a nasty one, ever. Such a brilliant breed. If short coats didn't make me sneeze they'd but very high on my one day list.

Are Strawberries Okay For Dog?
Bjelkier replied to pipsqueak's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My dogs raided my strawberry patch before we even knew they were ripe  -
I actually don't do anything. The dogs have never even tried to touch it. I have no idea why. But most people I know use puppy pens around the tree to keep the dogs away

Pro Plan kibble, fish, mince, organ meat, whatever bones I have at the time. We don't have a set meal plan for them but they usually get kibble in the morning just because it's easier. Why - they do well on it.
