I won't allow anyone to see my puppies until they are at least 6 weeks old and then it's only the people who are definitely getting puppies (these people have always met my older dogs first at other times). I screen my puppy people very heavily. The last lot of puppy people had a lot of children, 2 and 5 under 10 not to mention one of the groups brought her friends and their children too It's a lot of ask of the breeder (who is more then likely exhausted, lord knows I was at 2 weeks) and the bitch and lets face it, at that age puppies are cute slugs. Photos are just as good.

If asked I'd happily give them out, I've nothing to hide I just don't put them in the puppy packs. I guess it's because not one breeder I've ever brought a dog from did so I didn't think it was all that important. My latest pet puppy people didn't even care about the pedigree papers or even want to see the health tests I think it depends on the breed and the health tests. BCs have 3 DNA tests and I have done 3 clear to carrier matings so sighting the clear DNA test is important. I think it's always important to sight the parents results. I just saying it's not the end of the world if you don't give out copies in the puppy packs.

So are some of mine As long as you sight them you should be fine. I don't hand out copies of my puppies parents results either but the puppy people are always welcome to see them.

I don't have a theme although I do usually name them after characters I like. Lestat - he's blond and I love Anne Rice Merrique - Anne Rice Armand (RIP) - Anne Rice Mistral (RIP) - the storm fae from Laurell K Hamiltons book series. I wanted to call him Storm but that was his fathers name so I had to come up with something else. Alchemy - very last minuet and picked by Mr Bjelkier, it just suited her Dante - I always wanted a Samoyed called Dante after playing the xbox game Devil May Cry. Daenerys Targaryen - Game of Thrones (I named all the puppies in that litter after GOT characters, WSibes Skeeter use to be Rhaegar) Beowulf 'Viserys' Targaryen - Danys brother. I wanted him to keep his GOT themed name but Viserys rhymes with Daenerys and I loath rhyming names so we had to come up with something else. His pedigree name is Nordic King and Beowulf fit nicely with that. Mostly we just call him Wolf but when he's naughty he gets the whole thing :laugh: My next boy (depending on which one I get :p) is named either after a poet or a character from Narnia

One of my cats was baited and I didn't have a necropsy done, I believed my vet when he told me that was the cause of death. Perhaps this is what happened? I don't know. I'm not about to make sweeping statements about what happened.

Such a tragic event. Maybe animal rights nuts did it (I would be surprised), maybe a disgruntled exhibitor did it (lord knows it's happened in Samoyeds before) or maybe it was something else. A necropsy would have cleared up some things but what's done is done. They're heart broken at the loss of their dog and I'm not surprised they're looking for answers. All I can say is RIP Cruz, you really were an amazing dog and the Samoyed world is a little bit sadder without your lovely smile.

I had eight here recently and it was way too much for me to deal with and I was happy to see a few of them go. Five is the most we are happy with. I have five here at the moment but will soon be down to 3

In that kind of climate my Samoyeds would be useless, they would suffer too much during the day. If it was a cold climate I would want my Samoyeds, they would help me hunt, haul, protect and keep me warm during the nights. Everything the breed was created for. In the climate described however I would be looking at a Rotti or maybe a GSD. If it was the island from Lost I'd want a whole pack of livestock Guardians :laugh:

Mine is broken. Would love a spare that I can take to dog shows though if you know where to get them.... Plenty of people borrow mine. Maybe I could rent him out by the hour :laugh: I could do the same with mine I would have to say a well fitting sports bra, having lost 35 kilos and I swear most of that coming off my 'chest' I have had quite a few 'malfunctions' lately :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: Which leads me to another point - I am finding out that more and more people go commando, yes in the ring, when showing their dogs, while wearing nice skirt suits or nice pants. Am I just an old prude or does everyone else find this just ewwwwwwww Nope, that's not cool. Even worse when the skirt is super super short and when they bends down slightly you see everything I did not need to see that the other weekend!!!

Ain't that the truth, just look at the Samoyed! Wow, talk about sculpted. I think most of those dogs are quite lovely but the photographer clearly had no clue what they were doing. If one of those was my dog and a photo like that was put up I'd be furious.

I'm curious how you can possibly tell the true structure of a dog without touching it? Coat can hide a lot

Here are some of mine:

I knew a Newfie exhibitor who had her dogs undercoat knitted into gloves and a scarf, it was so warm. I know people who do it with Samoyed undercoat too. I keep meaning to send off the bags of undercoat I have sitting around and get some gloves for winter.
