  1. The off leash part did put me off a little, my sister in law has one and its so beautiful and so cute but she is so independent that its very hard to keep her in control when you need her to be, its not really off the list as per say just unsure it will adapt well to our lifestyle and requirments Perhaps you should look at a more biddable style of dog then instead of the Spitz. Lappies can be trained (any dog can) but it's the amount of effort you're willing and able to put into the dog. Spitz styles will almost always require that little bit more work. What about a CKCS or a Shih Tzu?
  2. If you're interested in a dog JS sized what knocked the JS of the list for you? There is also the German Spitz that comes in a variety of colours if that is what you're after. That being said I'd never recommend a Spitz if you want trustful dog off leash. They all seem to have their own ideas of what they are and aren't allowed to do. But that's half the appeal for a lot of Spitz owners. A Corgi might be a good choice
  3. And most are from the breeder that both you and I have recommended. They sure are.
  4. I wouldn't take my breed jogging in 22 deg weather. They'd get heat stroke. Are they unhealthy? Hell no but they're not built for hot climates so I need to be realistic. And for the record I;ve seen quite a few BB's in the ring in well over 22deg weather and they have made it around easily without fainting.
  5. This, keep her covered in a crate or gazebo with walls, don't parade her around the marshalling area and toilet away from others. There is no reason why you shouldn't show. This ^^
  6. I met his litter sister over the weekend. So very cute.
  7. I put another vote in for these guys. Their dogs are lovely
  8. The Samoyeds and Lab are on Kirklands All Natural and the Havanese is on RC JR but he seems to prefer the Kirklands.
  9. I do exactly the same thing with my Havanese. They need to get use to frequent bathing.
  10. I have no idea what my dogs would do. The only thing I can be 100% sure of is that the Samoyeds will bark if someone shows up at the house. My Lab, in his youthful days would have alerted me to someone coming in the yard and act quick aggressively (he has some screws lose poor guy) but today he didn't make a peep when the gas guy showed up. On the other hand though when someone tried to get into our yard by climbing the back fence one evening the dogs went wild and rushed the fence as a pack snarling and growling, standing their ground and snapping at the guy. And one of the boys has jumped in front of me growling when I was threatened once.
  11. Awesome. You will have a wonderful puppy. He's super cute <3
  12. I see Tabitha's dogs at pretty much every show I go to these days. He looks like one of her's :D Is this boy out of Marco? I'm crazy, crazy in love with Marco. He gives the best cuddles and is very kissy
  13. Um, the Samoyeds get more hyperactive  The old Lab shivers and is less inclined to get out of bed in the morning. He wears jackets all winter. Not sure how my Havanese will go. He wasn't too thrilled with the cool today and spent a lot of time sleeping on my fluffy ugg boot.
  14. :cheer: So happy for you Lhok Can't wait to see pics
  15. My OH is the same  He is a gamer through and through It's handy when you want them out of the way, but the trail of dust he leaves when I say 'Hey, can you load the dishwasher?' is something to behold. Like roadrunner! Alas, I just like the crummy ones. Ans Mario Kart, kick butt at that... Sounds very much like Mr Bjelkier  Meanwhile Tyrion is settling in super well. He's been sleeping through the night and has only had one accident inside. He's a little angel
  16. A good way to distract yourself. I have to admit some weeks a was a little slow sending photos to puppy people with the last litter. I'm sure you will get them soon :D
  17. Same thing happened to a friends dog. Very sad
  18. Melina Tyrion is a Havanese. It's not a stupid question at all, they're still quite a rare breed.
  19. No thankfully no disfiguring scars. But in every other way he's like the character so I figured it worked well.
