I think it's brilliant

We use to use a fold up work bench from Bunnings for the Newfoundlands. The top had a non slip cover made for it. Much cheaper then a grooming table and worked really well.

Not bad but the Samoyed one needs work, there are quite a few issues. The Havanese one however is pretty good.

I had a Samoyed bitch who was very similar, she would even point. Never had any training, she was a natural. -

Convincing Dogs To Get Their Feet Wet In The Morning...
Bjelkier replied to redangel's topic in General Dog Discussion
Own white/long coated show dogs.....they're magnets for mud and rain In all seriousness though we have always acted like it's no big deal. I make sure all the puppies go out in the rain, I play with them in it, give them treats, train in it etc -

The Saddest Thing About Purebred Dog Lovers
Bjelkier replied to inez's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's great, that's one lady and yep, that is dodgy. I've met breeders who will sell any old thing, regardless of the quality or in some cases lack of, on main reg. Is that better? You're making broad sweeping generalisations which simply are not always the case and quite frankly I think the thing that is doing the purebred world more damage is the people screaming "the sky is falling" whenever there is the smallest change in how we have to do things. Honestly it makes us look insane.... Maybe if we stopped ranting like crazy people and worked through our problems logically we would get further. Just saying..... -
The Saddest Thing About Purebred Dog Lovers

Dream on. My sister has two purebred undesexed bitches. Her vet asked her every time she took them for their vaccinations and checkup when would she like them booked in for desexing. In the end she lost it and asked the idiot. if you desex every female pup that comes here where on earth do you think your next clients pups are going to come from?? Take a long quiet look next time you are at a vets...ANY VETS. Everyone of them are activly encouraging every pup owner to get the 'job' done. Even pure bred main registered pups and you just try and find a mainregister pup of any sex available for sale. Considering not that long ago on average there were 2,500 to 3,000 maltese pups a year registered last I heard there were 200 for 2012. considering there is a small white fluffy on every second street corner to be seen they are one of the most popular breeds to be seen. obviously 90percent of them cant have come from a registered breeder thats for sure. I'm calling bulls**t on this. Not once has my vet asked me when I'm getting my dogs desexed. He and the staff have never been anything but supportive and helpful for me as a breeder. In fact they have gone so far as to send me emails when eye clinics are happening and give breeder discounts. They have also recommended a couple of puppy buyers to me. And btw I have never had an issue buying a main registered puppy from anyone. I also sold main reg puppy to a new exhibitor and have intentions on selling another to a new exhibitor from my next litter too. Not everyone is the difficult, purebred hating, newbie stopping person you seem to think they are -
What Colour Do Your Dogs Eye's Shine At Night?
Bjelkier replied to teekay's topic in General Dog Discussion
All my dogs have dark brown eyes and they all glow a yellow/green colour -
When we important a dog from Poland he came from their winter to our summer. Poor boy. He lost his super thick winter coat very quickly and then spend a good deal of time rolling it until it was more in sync with our weather.

Not really. Tyrion is a very bold little guy, it was one of the reasons I chose him in the first place. He met some horses for the first time the other day and fist off he freaked, ran away and peeked around the tree but a moment later he can zooming back over and sat at my feet watching them. I expect my dogs to get freaked out by things, it's normal. It's how quickly they bounce back which is what's important IMO -
Is the breeder Snowmyth by any chance?

Actually bitches tend to be, well bitches. I have found boys make much better pets, they seem sookier and more cuddly. I had to rehome one of my girls because she was so unpleasant with other dogs. My boys are all very gentle with children and a boy from my last litter when to a house of 5 kids under 10 and he's amazing with them. They use him as a pillow, dress him up etc All of my boys are entire too and they don't mark around the house or anything like that. They lift their leg outside against trees and such but that doesn't bother me at all.
-
Yeah it's normal. Tyrion is a humper of certain toys. I don't mind them humping toys, as long as they don't try to hump people.

If you want to give a Samoyed a go I'd love to see one of my boy Dante -
I do believe some dogs are naturally more agro then others, there for more likely to be a problem. If you have watched a litter as they grow you will realise they all have very different personalities, some more gentle, others loners and some really are down right nasty. If temperament wasn't such an issue why is everyone so fussy about breeders using good temp dogs?

Hello Bjelkier - Tyrion looks adorable - is he a Samoyed as well? It's such a cute age - my Banjomis 12 weeks so but much between them (except in size I would imagine!!) Hi Yvonne No Tyrion is a Havanese. Size wise Tyr would be around the same size as your Banjo, Havanese are a similar breed to Maltese :) -

Thought I should wander on in here. Tyrion is going really well, he's 14 or 15 weeks old now (terrible that I can't remember  ) Had his first show a little while ago and went great although we need to work on gaiting a little more, he did a wonderful marlin routine.
