  1. Well I have been given the green light to update on behalf of Starkehre as she is too tired/busy with her hands full at the moment. Here is the first puppy pic. Gorgeous litter of 5 girls and 4 boys.
  2. Puppies are here and well and gorgeous but I bet Starkehre is exhausted and I am sure she will come in with a full report after a good rest.
  3. Have just got news that puppies are underway!! Wishing you a safe and easy whelping!!
  4. Oh dear I was positive she would've had them last night. Come on Seven! Hope you got some sleep.
  5. I bet she will have them at 3am during the worst thunderstorm possible. Oh wait, isn't that what horses do?
  6. Squirming with excitement!!!!! Come out come out and play little puppas!
  7. Tried your suggestion - nope, it's fried. Oh well. Thank goodness I realized my settings were off after the first few shots. Still sad tho!! I've learnt my lesson lol. Thank you Snook.
  8. This is a stupid question and I almost think I already know the answer but I thought it would be good to have an expert's opinion from here. I was very stupid today and forgot to check/adjust the settings on my DSLR before taking some photos. The shots all came out way over-exposed, literally like the entire photo is just white. Is there anyway I can work with the RAW file to make it appear at least viewable? I messed around a bit but the best I could do was a very faint silhouette of the dog. Very annoyed with myself because I think they would have been some decent shots otherwise!
  9. I once saw photos of a pet store overseas that was geared towards dog sports and had an awesome looking training/enrichment corner... let me see if I can find the link again... Edit : Here it is! I remembered wrong, it has an agility course built into the retail space. http://scoutregalia.com/collections/work/products/blue-collar-working-dog#IMAGE-1
  10. I use Road Refresher too, in crates and on travels.
  11.   I've been known to go sit in the dog's bed while she stretches out on the lounge!
  12. Croydon is a good one if that is not too far from you, I know quite a number of people and trainers who go there.
  13. Yes, a mature dog from a breeder is a great option to consider, my girl was rehomed to me as a young adult ex show/breeding dog and she fitted right into my lifestyle from day one, and I have the strongest bond with her out of all the dogs I've even owned in my life. She came already house-trained and I didn't have to worry about going through all the difficult and destructive puppy stages. I also wanted to throw it out there not to dismiss a cat just yet - my cat is more dog than an actual dog most days! She comes when called, greets me enthusiastically at the door when I get home, follows me around the house, knows basic tricks like Sit and Beg, plays football with me, and never begs for food! Cats are a great joy to have around PLUS most wouldn't care about being left alone for very long (mine does but since she is part dog... she doesn't count ) Anyway good luck with whatever you decide and it's great that you are doing your research. I don't know anything about german pinschers so won't comment on that but I have heard they are quite active little dogs.
  14. I use and love Essential dog,, full of good natural ingredients and smells sooo nice. http://www.essentialdog.com.au/
  15. Mine also loooooves ice cream and yogurt. It's a tradition to stop in at a Maccas to share a soft serve ice cream whenever she does well at a trial. :D Life is too short and I refuse to begrudge my dog her favourite treats once in a while. :D
  16. I feed raw. In the mornings RMBs mainly turkey necks or a variety of other meats or non-weight bearing bones, and offal, as well as K9 Natural or Ziwipeak at dinner. I also very occasionally supplement with eggs, sardines, yogurt, fresh fruit and veg.
  17. When my Rottie had cancer we went to East West Vets in Bentleigh (Melbourne). It is owned by a vet named Anne Neville and they practise lots of alternative and natural therapies especially for pets with cancer.
  18. I can also recommend Amanda, she is very knowledgeable and has helped me heaps with my dog. She is also on this forum. :)
  19. Does your car not have air-conditioning? We are going to the dog pool at midday but it will be AC all the way in the car, then straight into the water. I definitely won't be blow drying her after. I don't think I would ever blow dry a dog in this heat. They would dry naturally very quickly in today's weather!
  20. I've had my girl chew through a Syntek leash but other than that nothing else, touch wood!
  21. I use Chilly Buddy too, excellent coats. Used mostly at trials or when we are out and about in the sun. I never leave on unsupervised.
  22. Oh grumpette your adorable pooches are as gorgeous as ever!
  23. Free to rescue : 1x bag of Artemis Senior Dog Food 1.8kg (has been opened but still full and good to use) 1x small bag of Royal Canin Medium breed dog food (unopened) 1x large (I think 180cm) artificial Christmas tree from Kmart (good for dressing up a fundraising stand or christmas photos, nice looking tree) If any rescues are interested you can pick up from me at Dogs Victoria Big Day Out this Sunday 13th Dec at KCC Park, VIC. :)
  24. Incredible looking dogs, I'd love to see one in the flesh one day.
  25. Breeze just got a new bloody car so I'm not planning on Christmas presents for her. Actually, I lie - I've already bought her several Christmas biscuits and will probably buy a squeaky toy for her to unwrap on Christmas. She's also got some pretty new bandannas. The cat might get a toy too.
