  1. Presumably the lady strikes a dog one day...I am sure the dog/owner will retaliate although the dog had not started any aggressive behaviour. Then it becomes a case of my word against her word. IMO, the best is to avoid and walk away from the crazy woman as soon as she is within sight. No point fighting with a looney.
  2. I have been bobbing my head over to check on my neighbour. He has gone to church this morning and has not come home as yet. Yah I always worry about my old neighbour ... he is a little depressed lately as well as both his brothers are in hospital. Not an easy time for him.
  3. I wish I knew how bonded one becomes with her dog. I think half of me will die if my dog leaves me. But I am just going to enjoy the time we have and not worry about that for now.
  4. My dog waits for me at the door and hops onto my knee to greet me. He is rather calm. But if I am gone for a long day, he scratches the door in excitement. I guess he wants his food
  5. Mine does zoomies from time to time. But he definitely does his zoomies after a shower, cleaned ears or nails cut. Both OH and I try to stand in a corner when he does his zoomies...he can charge really strongly at us if he wants. I can't imagine big dogs zooming in the house..I would have hidden in the closet or something
  6. Cucumbers are great for "cooling". My Chinese herbalist advises us to eat a lot of raw cucumbers to combat the summer heat(great for our digestive tract too). See, Bronte is her own herbalist!
  7. Grover please stay strong and go home soon. *sending positive vibes*
  8. Awwww they look as if they have been together their entire lives! You must be over the moon!
  9. I belong to the neurotic group as well But I controlled myself so well I did not even call the boarding facility...I did not want to be the mum from hell But I could not help it when my dog had to fly 8hrs here to Melbourne. I rang the quarantine facility the moment his plane landed and to ensure that he was collected. I was so worried about my son being a forgotten luggage or something. I also agree that my dog does not give a crap. When he came home from his 10-day holiday, he gave me a face like "ohh back so soon?" He must be one of those rebellious kids with a fussy mum
  10. Children-dog bond is incredible. So pure and so beautiful. Makes me a little teary.
  11. Awwww such a cute baby. So great to hear him recovering. Yups, your challenge now is to keep this inquisitive baby entertained
  12. Too sweet. The dogs can't stop smiling...what charming characters!
  13. Awwww such a sweetheart! Leaving something for mummy to snack on.
  14. *gulp* they are scary. Nice to look at only from far...no thanks...no spiders in this house.
  15. Look at that sandy face...who would not fall in love ;) His hind legs are so muscular...
  16. Awwwww look at those sad puppy eyes! He must be so upset to be "coned up". The mind boggles. But I must admit I go weak on my knees when I spot a spider --- freaks me out. Teddies are fine even if they go to 250kg. I used to volunteer in the zoo back home and I was perfectly fine with working alongside huge animals (pumas, tigers, rhinos, giraffes)..but when a spider attaches itself to my clothes I go crazy. That's phobia.
  17. :D :D ;) Charge them a fee next time! A friend of mine owns a samoyed and many of his house guests won the Lotto after playing with his samoyed. Then word got around and he has strangers lurking around trying to give his "lucky" dog a pat or a treat so that they can win some money I think any animal resembling a bear or lion is considered "lucky". The same with chow chows. Charge a fee and donate the collection to your dogs having to endure so many pats and cuddles. $10 for a photo $3 for a cuddle.
  18. My grandfather (RIP) grew up in China without any interaction with dogs. However, when he set up his own family in SE Asia his love for dogs became an obsession really. We always had big dogs and grandpa was one of the first few GSD owners in his area. Alan was his heart dog and grandpa would sit with Alan for hours just "chatting" away in Hokkien (Chinese Dialect). Dad told me that they had another GSD before Alan and the GSD was stolen one day. Grandpa sent out all his mates to look for the dog and eventually found him. The dog thief refused to return the dog to my grandpa claiming that it was his but grandpa identified the tatoo. So grandpa gathered his strongest mates (and my dad) and they barged into the man's house and beat the guy up for stealing a dog. . Dad told me that grandpa would do anything to get his dog back because they are all part of our family. Any human babies brought home from the hospital shortly after birth would also be introduced to our guard dogs...carried by doting grandpa Muslims may be wary of dogs because of religious beliefs. I just keep my dog out of the path of people whom I think are Muslims. Usually they avoid us first.
  19. My order arrived today Dyz! I had to use it. The collar was a little big for Giggles but it sat well on his lower neck/chest area. Giggles did not mind the least bit and was happily running around whilst I watered the plants. Thanks for your fastest ever replies and postage..I can't wait to bring him to the park for a run tomorrow with his new cool collar
  20. Do you cook your carrots? My dog gobbles carrots and it comes out the other end, "uncooked" too. I love to steam up pumpkins and just give them to my dog. Baked sweet potatoes are marvellous, for myself at least.
  21. Hi Cashew, how are you? Regarding Polar Pad sizing, it really depends greatly on the application - where you intend to use it, in the car, in the house, on his bed, outside, in a crate (if in a crate will he be locked inside and what are the dimensions of the crate? with the Polar Pads the dog does not need to fit his entire body on to the Pad. Many dogs are more than happy just to have their hips or just their shoulders cooling on the Pad, and others will happily lay their entire body onto it. so, you see, size is really not critical. the dog will use the pad to assist him with lowering his core body temperature. so, if you want to get back to me with some application details, I can advise further, but I will usually always give a range of size options that I would advise, and then you can choose which size will suit your budget the best. If being used inside a locked crate, that is more specific. :D also, all the dimensions are shown within each individual listing. alternatively all the Polar Products are up on my website now, so you do not need to go through ebay if you do not wish to. www.k9softdogcrates.com.au Thanks Dyz! My Giggles is still missing Rosie greatly
  22. Hi Dyz, Which size of the polar pad do you reckon I should get for my Mini Schnauzer? I am quite a cave woman because I don't know where to click for the dimensions of the pads. I am so tempted to get the collar for my own use, especially on the hot gardening days Thanks so much!
  23. I love the pics! They remind me of young children trying to solve problems together...4 heads are better than 1! So sweet!
  24. The vet I brought my dog to advised on full blood works, eventhough I sent mine in for a simple desexing. I guess he knows I am a paranoid mum.
