  1. naaawww he looks lovely...was he a good boy?
  2. Really nice photos - you've got a style that shines through. I like!! Some post-processing comments...? Perhaps a personal preference - some of your shots are a bit bright for me. The contrast is a little do high especially in the highlights. Not enough midrange maybe. It's hard to put my finger on. FWIW - I try to avoid shooting in bright sun. hmmm...I just had a closer look at some of the images. You aren't using the full tonal range in the ones I thought looked a bit bright. I'm not sure how you are post-processing - and I'm not sure how much of the next bit you'll understand Your white and black points aren't set at 255 and 0. Take the dog at the sprinkler one for example. Your photography is really, really nice... PS - "My Dog's Brain" -
  3. Very nice effects Ange and Helen!
  4. I'll have to take a close-up next time it's dry and brown
  5. Scooter's day at the beach.... Just zooming at the beach, having a good time by myself. ZOMG it's a cow chasing me! Teefies? Yeah, I've got teefies too.
  6. I seem to remember the word "gross" used a few times LOL. Poor little spaz Barkly
  7. I'm such a softie. I melt whenever he looks at me. Emma (gf) is getting a bit sick of his tongue sticking out all the time (and I'd like some different photos! ) - I'm thinking of teaching him to keep it in.
  8. Nice pics!! The pidgeon in the curch pic is awesome! I'd go nuts in photoshop on the landscapes
  9. He's georgeous crazycresties! You aint seen tongue action yet...stay tuned... In the meantime - here's a little bit of tongue action and some springtime flowers.
  10. I also wanted to know if you think this is too expensive a lens for someone who is a relative beginner and often just leaves camera on auto? You'll get the most benefit if you switch from auto to AV mode (which isn't much different to auto). It is pretty expensive - but you get what you pay for. The lens should last many, many, many years.
  11. I've got the 24-70 2.8. It's a magnificent lens. Big and heavy. Much bigger and heavier than your kit lens. Personally, I find a longer zoom suits my photography style more though. A longer zoom is better for portraiture (dogs and people). As long as you can get some distance between you and your dog. If you can stretch the budget, the 70-200 2.8 L IS is an amazing piece of kit. Even bigger and heavier though.
  12. It seems the tongue might be a bit of a cocker trait. Maybe your old boy was related to Barkly
  13. Soooooo cute. Then I opened the second image. ;)
  14. late reply.. A behaviourist suggest cutting up a pair of panty-hose. I've starting putting a Thundershirt on Barkly - it does seem to have an effect. It's not super dramatic - but he does seem to pace around the house less.
  15. oh wow! awesome shots. My favs...the 5 Tollers lined up in a row from tallest to shortest, and omg, the first of the 2 labs (looks like a painting). all of them really good though.
