Crate.

Fade the food. If she works with it in your hand... Don't reward using the treat in your hand. Reward from another treat somewhere else. Eg..in your other hand behind your back... Then behind you on a bench. The further behind you Then further. Now fade the treat in your hand. Then on a bench to the right. Then further. Then further. Then in the fridge. Then further from the fridge... Get the idea? Then, don't always reward. Reward only the best 8 out of 10.

Congrats everyone... Like your vids AD... Croydon Agility Trial yesterday... No passes but some good runs and only one disaster! His first run in Excellent jumping...missed time by 0.85s. It was a tough course and I was very happy to make it around without getting lost! 2nd place. A 3rd in Novice Agility, only his 2nd run in Agility. A refusual when I rear crossed his weave entry. Something to work on. The disaster... "414 you can enter the ring" Barkly decides now would be a good time to have a poo. I stall, wait for him to finish, bag it and enter the ring. Put him on the start line and head out for a big leadout. Half way to my lead-out point, he starts to wander around the first jump. I decide to just release him and he runs around the first jump. I decide to continue anyway. 2 jumps and a tunnel in, he stops, and has a stretch and a yawn.... Doh. I thanks the judge and leave the ring. "Luke, Luke...you forgot your..." Doh. Poo bag.

Filters change the properties of the light coming into the lens. Some common filters: UV filter/Skylight filter - removes a very minimal amount of glare/haze. These lenses are almost clear and have very little effect on the light entering the lens. Many photographers use these to protect the lens. Replacing a scratch UV filter is usually cheaper than replacing a lens. Neutral Density Filters. They come in 2 flavours. Neutral Density and Graduated Neutral Density filters. These filters restrict the amount of light getting into the lens, without affecting color. Standard ND filters restrict the light across the whole frame. GND filters, only part of the frame (for exmaple to make the sky darker, without affecting the ground). These filters can be emulated in photoshop. Polarising filters. Hi guys I'm trying to fill in my entry form for the Geelong agility trial. Entries close Tuesday so I need to get my entries express posted tomorrow morning. Trial details are here: http://www.agilitytrials.info/geelongapril.htm I want to enter Barkly in Novice Jumping on Sunday 25th. Question 1: From what I can tell, I can enter him in 4 'runs': Two in the morning (Trial C - Novice Jumping 1 and Trial C Novice Jumping 2) Two in the afternoon noon (Trial D - Novice Jumping 1 and Trial D Novice Jumping 2) Or is there really only 2 events (Trial C and Trial D ?). I'm confused. 4 Entries or 2? Can anyone help?

I still dabble in obedience at home I've been thinking of rejoining the obedience ring at Croydon - I was doing two hours of agility on Sunday morning and adding obedience on a Sunday was out of the question. Now that I'm down to one agility class on a Sunday - I might pop into the practice ring or rejoin the pretrialing class.

...it's been a while... Barkly Blue competed in his first agility trial last weekend!!! 2 runs in Novice Jumping. A third place...one bar down. and a second place (clear and a pass!) We had a blast.

I didn't read all the replies.... - Practice nothing in life is free... - if your dog is food motivated, reward it with food whenever is exhibits behavior you like (if that means following you around, so be it) you have to make yourself more attractive than what ever else the dog might want to do.

When will it stop? I read this somewhere...supposedly verified but who knows. Anyway it's worth a read...
