  1. Wow, so good to hear other people have bald girls!! Especially you, Pomz NZ! Cause Daisy has gone from this: To this: ... and has not stopped yet!
  2. Thankyou everyone for the feedback! It has all cleared up, they did have their vaccs a day or three before (I think - old lady brain) so it must have been that? They are all tres, tres healthy now, no worries about them at all - once again thankyou all for your feedback, it was so reassuring
  3. Was browsing for a way to keep the Poms cool, decided these look juuuuuust right: http://www.techniice.com/2011/icepacks/icepacks_heavy_duty.asp
  4. Actually, I should be more concise - not watery stools, more that they are softer than they have been. And sticky, hence the scalded bottom. Weaned from their dam on Monday, eight and a half weeks old today. Been on mince "shakes" since three weeks old, and frozen chicken wings or chopped bbq chicken breast daily. Introduced the kibble late last week.
  5. Started with one puppy, three days ago: runny poo leading to scalding and a sore bum. Now all of them seem to have it - they have been receiving fortnightly worming with first Drontal syrup, then broad spectrum wormer... They are on Black Hawk kibble, with mince smoothies and chicken wings daily. Did read back through the forum headings back a couple of year's worth to see if I could find any old threads, but no luck. Anyone with advice? Haven't had yoghurt for a week or two, would that fix it? Or probiotics? Or am I needing antibiotics? TIA
  6. Ooopsy! Went to the vet with the puppies for their first needle today - on the way out of the surgery ran into a lady and her daughter with a gorgeous little Pom. I recognised them but couldn't remember where from so assumed they were local breeders; said hi, how are you, want a peep at my four, etc... They were a little ... odd ... in manner but I wasn't fussed and gaily went on my way. ... half an hour later I realised why they were familiar - and why they were odd in their manner: they had visited me the weekend before to see about buying a puppy... I never heard back from them. Not that I was bothered by that, I could tell I wasn't going to sell them a pup and wasn't really expecting to hear from them Really glad to see they had such a gorgeous puppy!! And that they are going to my vet - he rocks!!!
  7. Hm. Not an expert, but looks like teething ears to me... and she looks * very * gorgeous Were you going to check with your breeder about it? I would love to know what they say for general information... (PS love your feline executive keeping an eye on things in the background...)
  8. Hi KP Lol - likely to be temporary. Teething makes lots of puppies get weird ears... too cute, in my opinion! Perhaps ask the breeder from whom you bought your Pug?
  9. Flax/Linseed added to the diet will change the colour of the yellow pigments... I brought out the red on a Saluki I had for several months using flax. ...this works for Palomino horses (turns them orangey, rather than golden) and for my seven year old son - he lived on soy and linseed biscuits for years, then they changed the recipe and he went off them; he has gone from strawberry blonde to dirty bonde
  10. ... since no-one else seems to have seen this - have you given your girl chicken necks or wings? Just guessing, I find that the calcium that is undigested from the bones in the chicken will firm up the stool. Other than that - what are you feeding her?
  11. Such a glorious morning today - so I took the Doggies down to an off-leash park on Lake Burley Griffin. After scampering around on the foreshore, we discovered the lake - and since I am always up for a challenge, thought we would try fetch from the lake... So - is he in fact a Retriever: Or - wait - maybe he should be in the Herding group:
  12. Alyosha, I accept your offer immediately. Will pm about it... hope you is serious...! Lol - Lou the ten year old had plans initially to suit up and handle for me, but was a little underwhelmed after we attended a show together... might have been my approach to showtraining... And a bucket of toys just does not do it for the seven year old - he is very high-maintenance and gets over-stimulated in unfamiliar situations; which leads to an over-anxious meltdown. So it is more pleasant for everyone if I don't bring him - not yet, maybe in a year or so... or leave him with the auntie who lives here in Canberra, but she if often overseas and unavailable. THEN - I will be at as amny shows in the area as I can find lol :D
  13. I want to show them, Nat - but my babysitter-in-chief keeps going overseas on work-related trips, dammit!! And I have buckleys' getting my youngest to agree to come with me/stay with the other willing available babysitter...
  14. Oh, yes - I did see this picture!! No reason not to post it again, of course! He is beautiful... hope he finds a great home through his friends :D
  15. I sure am, Nat - although they are so cute I am close to passing out whenever I walk past them... ... have to admit, I was just thinking yesterday, your babies were so HUGE at this age compared to my babies... made me smile to think of how size is irrelevant, they were still killer cuties :D
  16. Really, Alyosha - time for you to designate one of your kiddies as the photographer in charge of remembering to charge batteries + actually get the camera out... or to remind you to charge the batteries and actually get the camera out!!!
  17. Oh - forgot to add that once it starts to prickle up/dry out, pawpaw ointment and then the bitter spray over the top... in fact, perhaps the antiseptic/anaesthetic spray before the pawpaw and the and the bitter spray...? Dying to see pics of him, if that is allowed?
  18. Hi everyboddy! Just an update on my litter - although there are only pix of two of the puppies, the small boy (ENRGEEZ FurstAzleep AtTheParti) and the small girl (ENRGEEZ Parti Portent). Boy: Girl:
  19. I find Afghans are extremely inclined to "razor rash" and it is that which sets off the roundabout of discomfort/licking/inflammation/discomfort... Definitely try for a sedative - I have vague recollections of being able to use human travel/pain medications on them?? And then, bitter drops to stop the licking - it is really, really sad for them and the bitter drops do sting on the fresh wound, but ever so much better than a bucket-cone. The bucket-cones seem to drive them mad. So sorry for him: distractions, pain relief, and bitter drops are my best recommendation.
  20. Horrie the Wog Dog - if you can find it.
  21. Lol - Afghan Hounds are jocularly referred to as the "Rainbow Dog" because they can go through so many changes of colour in their life - kinda like Arabian Horses
  22. Hiya! Congratulations - it is a pretty special feeling, isn't it?! :D
  23. Thanks for the linkie - brilliant idea, I just emailed her, too.
  24. Hokay - so here are my bubbies at two and a half weeks: And this is what puppies is all about: Hmm... must be someone else's turn to update? ;)
