  1. My dogs do just as well on Supercoat or Bonnie as they do on Nutro or Royal Canin... only their poos are larger when they get the cheaper kibble. I'm lucky that none of mine have any allergies, and that they will eat anything put in front of them. My old girl was nearly 16 when she passed in July last year, rarely saw a vet for anything right up until her last day... not a bad innings for a large breed dog IMHO. I'm a firm believer in feeding whatever your dog does well on... and not buying into the hype regarding what is "best". Truth is that what may be amazing for one dog might not be as great for the next... T.
  2. Oh - and I'm tipping 2 girls and a boy... *grin* T.
  3. Deep breaths! Neko is perefectly fit and healthy. She has a doting owner who is well versed in the ins and outs of the breed and whelping. All will turn out just fine, and this time next week we will all be cooing over the gorgeous little bundles of joy Neko has made for us... Hugs at ya! T.
  4. I wonder if she will throw any with the lovely tan colouring of her brothers? Or a morph of that tan? T.
  5. LOL! I'll second that... I reckon she's hiding at least one from you... T.
  6. Here's hoping she's been hiding a couple extras... lol! T.
  7. Is there any chance the 2 you saw were actually hiding anyone else from view? Not completely beyond the realms of possibility, is it? And heartbeats can be in sync... thus making it hard to distinguish more... Wishful thinking here... lol! Whatever the birthing outcome, Neko will have absolutely gorgeous and healthy babies within the next 10 days... focus on that. T.
  8. collect some tiger or lion wee T (surely you, if anyone, can get a bottle of this) just spray it on the grass...that'll keep them away Hahaha! But that may attract cats instead... lol! T.
  9. 10 days from now you will have a couple of totally divine little iggy puppies... fixate on that thought... T.
  10. She's strong and healthy, so whatever the birthing conditions, she'll be fine... you've done this before and know what to watch for... Fingers crossed she just pops them out and makes all your worry go away... T.
  11. Someone's dog keeps pooping on my front lawn too... I'm pretty sure it's someone regular... haven't managed to catch them in the act yet either... grrr! T.
  12. Gotta love a dog with a sense of humour - even after a long day at work... lol! T.
  13. Just remember Neko's 2 brothers at birth... they were pretty big too... and all turned out fine in the end... T.
  14. Oh... poor wee Arkey! Sending him lots of get well woo-woos and sloppy wet kisses from my gang... and gentle hugs from me... T.
  15. It's going to be a long 2 weeks methinks... *waiting patiently* T.
  16. My studmuffin boy! So handsome... wonky eye or not... *grin* T.
  17. Love the stare in the second shot... "why you keep taking photos of my belly mumma?" T.
  18. I'll second Comfortis... make sure you give it after food... T.
  19. In a perfect world no dog would give birth in a pound... and even better, there would be no need for pounds at all... but we don't live in a perfect world... *sigh* Pounds (and the RSPCA/AWL/etc) have a limited amount of space to hold animals that come in. Some pounds will hold over dogs for far longer than their legal impound time, and try their hardest to give them time to be adopted or taken in by rescues. When they are full, they are full... and that means that the dogs that have been there the longest, or are deemed unsuitable for adoption, will not necessarily make it out of there alive. This is the reality. Many pounds don't have the world's largest kennels - and many don't have exercise areas to get the animals out of the kennels either. Rescues are stretched to the limit also - foster carers need to have a break now and then or risk burn out (been there, done that, not pleasant!) - funding can be an issue - time, and other resources are other general issues that rescues have to find on a regular basis. Some animals may be perfectly lovely with people, but not so great with other dogs - some may need extensive medical treatment before being able to be adopted out - all will need enough time in care with a rescue for said rescue people to know that animal well enough to advertise for the right home for it. Then they have the fun task of screening the applications to find that perfect home... As for this particular dog... I'm sure that rescue was aware of her plight, and for whatever reason, she was not an easy one to take on (there was mention that she wasn't overly fussed on other dogs?). I'm sure that DAS staff were highly attentive to her pregnancy needs, and did their utmost to make it easier on her given the situation she'd found herself in... not sure what more they could really have done? Anyways... that's my 2c worth on the matter... *grin* T.
  20. I'm betting you will get the G3 X... *grin* Sounds like a good little camera actually - nice zoom range and decent quality in lower light situations... I reckon you'll be happy with it. T.
  21. The offer of the loan of the 450D still stands powerlegs... Or, if you are still wanting brand new... look at the Canon 1200D, the 700D, or the 750/760D models... and go for one with either the 2 lenses, or the Tamron 18-270mm lens T.
