Would it be presumptive of me to ask you to private message me the name of the boarding kennel he went to @Caitlin888? T. -
Unsettled dog after going to dog boarding
tdierikx replied to Caitlin888's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd say that being unsettled is more due to his routine changing while in boarding, then back when you got him home... it's a bit confusing for some dogs the first time that happens. T. -
He's special in his own way Perse... love him for all his differences... *grin* T.

We have one alpaca at the farm... his name is Cadbury, and he's really friendly. His fave thing is to moosh his nose on your mouth... lol! Not so much fun on a dewy morning when his nose is all wet and cold... errr! This is him checking out what I was doing the other day... He shares his paddock with some mini donkeys, mini horses, and a couple of sheep. -
PUDDEN!!!! I do love the derp-man... T.

They are bottle fed...and will nibble on solid food in between quite happily... hay, chaff, pellets, and grains. A few of them are buggers at bottle time... still a bit leery of humans so we have to catch them up, but once plugged onto a bottle, they settle and go great guns. T. -

The littlies are about 1-2 weeks old... About half the size of a regular goat usually... T. -

The exercise pen fencing panels are about 2 feet high, and the kids are well contained by it... so I'd say Freddie and Fern are around 12 inches tall at the shoulder, and Pip is about 10 inches. Freddie amd Fern weigh in at around 2.5 kgs, and Pip is about 2kg (if that)... so tiny... I've actually seen newborn goats larger than Pip... *grin* All 3 have huge personalities, and are doing really well out on visits, lapping up the attention like true little pros... not to mention that they are fast becoming the faves at the farm. Freddie and Pip are really adventurous, and like hopping about like spring lambs... cutest thing ever! Fern follows their lead when she's decided that it's safe to do so... smart girl. I think I'm going to have to find some props for their next photo shoot, and see if I can get some of them jumping on and off things. T. -

Here are some pics of Freddie's sister Fern... she's almost as cheeky as he is... and cute as a button too. In the first photo she's climbing on my stomach... *sigh* They both have gorgeous markings, wouldn't you agree? T. -

I had a 4:30am (and 7 degrees cold) wake up yesterday to be at the farm by 7am and to a job by 9am.... it definitely helped to know I'd be taking Freddie Freckles and Fern (1st and 3rd photos) out on their first visit... and they were little stars - lapping up cuddles and pats from kids and adults alike. I must admit, I've fallen in love with Freddie Freckles... he's such a little character, and thinks I'm his mummy... *grin* T. -
It's a hard job... but someone's gotta do it... lol! T.

Austral Animal Boarding Ph: 9606 0954 is only a short detour off the M5 (and easy to get back to the freeway to Canberra)... I work there... *grin* Alternately, you could see if your local vet does short term boarding... mine does... T.

a query on dog descriptions (seeking homes)
tdierikx replied to persephone's topic in General Dog Discussion
Considering that we are all "crazy dog people", and we know lots of other "crazy dog people"... how many of us or our friends would be prepared to give a dog like that a home? Makes you wonder about the mentality of someone who would actually adopt an animal with severe issues like this, yes? Then again, maybe the dog could be offered to a security company... could make a reasonable guard dog for sites that need protecting from egress by strangers (if it's a larger breed). T. -
Not liking that it is also affecting vaccinated animals... grrr! T.

Zuri is growing up too fast! She is looking so much more mature than her actual age... T.

The carcasses I get have a good portion of bone, meat, and skin... I could cook them up for my own soups if I was so inclined... quite chunky... *grin* All 3 of my dogs and my 2 foxes are doing really well on them... and they are dead cheap! T.
