Love the Ruby poser shots... "oh, there's a camera... ready for my close-up Mr DeMille"... lol! Luka is such a doofus, isn't he? But an extremely handsome one... *grin* T.

Love the evil eye in the last shot... classic! T.

Oh my! Isn't she simply adorable? Good to hear that you have worked out what she prefers for toileting when she can't go outside... she'll be able to hold for longer as she gets older... T.

Thank you Horsegal98... I think she's beautiful too... and I have the added bonus that she's my new heart dog also! T.

Awesome pics FM! But a little bit of a worry about the size of that snake near to where you live... errr! T.

This is my fave colour at the moment... I do like a nice fawn brindle too... or pretty much any brindle will do... I also like black, blonde, and white with brindle patches... which funnily enough are the colours of my other 3 dogs... *grin* Any colour is great though... T.

Funny that... our pups were dosed with Troy syrup too... which apparently is only for roundworms... If the hookworms were small, you wouldn't have seen them in the poo with the naked eye - but it doesn't mean they aren't there - need to check under a microscope for more detail. A small suggestion would be to see if you can source the Canex puppy syrup for future wormings - it's gentler on the gut but still does an effective job. My instinct would definitely be that the worming on the 29th has brought about this issue - exactly why may always be a mystery too unfortunately. Crossing fingers for the other pups - and big hugs for you while you wait to see if they come along just fine. We only use Canex or Fenpral to worm all of our rescue pups now - had too many issues with Troy and Drontal... even with adult dogs. T.

Will Snake Catchers Remove Snakes From The Backyard...
tdierikx replied to pipsqueak's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hmmm... I wouldn't be too fussed at having that in my yard either... not sure what it is, but it doesn't look to be of the non-venomous persuasion. If the dogs haven't been near it since 6:30pm last night, and they aren't showing any signs of illness by now, you may have gotten lucky. Some poisonous snakes can dry bite a few times before they get serious and hit with venom. Check your dogs all over for any tiny puncture wounds, and just keep a good eye on them for the next 12 or so hours... if they look out of sorts at all, go to the vet. Even if it's a false alarm, it's better to be safe than sorry. T. -

Can you take a picture of the snake so we can work out whether you need to be worried? T. -
Was this their first worming? Did the syrup cover hookworm also? We had a seemingly healthy litter of pups die after worming due to the syrup causing their hookworm infestation to go feral... there were enough of them to cause massive internal bleeding when the syrup dislodged them apparently. It's heartbreaking when things like this happen... you have my deepest condolences, and best wishes for the remaining pups. T.

Seeing as we were sitting in a front yard surrounded by Christmas lights, and calling out "Happy New Year" to every car driving by - we had a lovely policewoman stop and have a nice neighbourly chat with us. She said that they really couldn't do much about all the illegal fireworks going off, as they were usually all finished and over by the time they could respond to any complaints made. Must be frustrating being a police officer on New Year's Eve... T.

When is the Lab show? I reckon it would be a Labrador lover's wet dream to go to one of those... *grin* T. -
Sammy The Anti-gardener And His Big Weekend

I think you are going to have to let us know if/when Kura is showing in Sydney Tapua... we have a vested interest in cheering her on now... *grin* ... and I'd love the chance to meet her and your fine self also... T. -
Happy New Year everyone! I'm making the wish that all of our services are needed LESS this year... *grin* T.

I'd only really be worried about tetanus if he's been near anything "horsey"... ie. horses or horse poop. I'd keep an eye on the wound for the next 24 hours, and if it starts looking at doing anything but healing, then off to the vet for a prophylactic course of antibiotics. T.

Actually - I did refer to certain parts of this debate as "AR shite"... but I don't see where I actually "accused" a particular person of doing it... *grin* What I directed at Greylvr personally, was the fact that she has used emotive AR sounding rhetoric in a number of her posts in this debate... which is actually a little different when you take both of the posts I have made in their correct (read having literacy skills above those of a flea) context. You want to know something Greylvr? EVERY single person participating in this debate knows EXACTLY what happens to unwanted dogs in pounds... so you really don't have to preach to the choir on that point either. The trick to a good debate is exploring all sides of the argument and educating oneself about the many different points of view about a particular subject. Screaming from the rooftops that YOUR point of view is the only "right" one wears a bit thin, and people actually tend to switch off and not even bother considering that side of the debate... but well thought out and carefully considered replies as to WHY you hold your particular point of view actually ADDS something to the debate instead of turning it into a slanging match. The other trick to participating in a good debate is actually READING and UNDERSTANDING exactly what is being said... grabbing snippets of posts and trying to claim persecution is a tactic reserved for those with closed minds. I'm sure my contributions to this thread have caused many more people than yourself to feel that I've been "mean" to them, or not understood their particular views on the topic - but you are the only one who is taking it all as an attack on you personally. I assure you that is not the case... I am simply exploring the many facets of the debate, and if my telling you that you need to find a better way to convince me of your point of view is upsetting you, then maybe you need to try a more reasoned approach to your replies, no? Quite frankly, I'm enjoying the great - and for the most part - civilised debate we are all having here on this particular topic... let's keep it like that, OK? T.

I find it interesting that people are unsure of what to do in this case... if the cat is a menace, then please just report it, and keep reporting it until Council do something about it. If it were a dog, I doubt this conversation would be happening... T.

All survived nicely here - I was only across the street, and apart from Harper voicing her opinion that she wasn't partying with Mummy, and Trouble peering through the bedroom window with her best "can I come party too Mum" look - all went well... *grin* T.

Gorgeous!! Care to share what camera and lens setup you were using? T.

... are you sure my post was directed at you staffydave? *grin* T.

Actually, the best rescuers I've met have been those who DON'T fall for all that AR claptrap - they are quiet and unassuming and just get on with the job of finding nice dogs nice homes. The ones that shout from the rooftops and buy into "the don't breed or buy" mantra for the most part are attention seeking gits - more interested in being lauded for doing what so many great rescuers do day in day out without any recognition at all. It's an ego trip for those types - "look at me, I'm a hero"... *sigh* T.

Sammy The Anti-gardener And His Big Weekend
tdierikx replied to Katdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh my... Kura IS very pretty, isn't she? So you decided to keep her from this litter Tapua? My fave was actually black girl #2 - she was divine! But Sammy is nice and close and I get cuddles and am allowed to take pics, so I'm definitely NOT complaining... lol! T. -
Another reminder... this is a PUREBREED dog forum... and they let us involved in rescue play here as long as we are civil. Oh - and respect is a two way street - if you'd like people to show it to you, then you need to show them a bit yourself... Coming on here and spouting that AR shite isn't doing some any favours. As for the PB people who hold their own strong views about this topic, they may have some very good reasons to do so, and to vilify them about it rather than engaging in a civilised debate makes you look quite silly really... T.

I don't think you are going to get a reply... she pops up in all sorts of threads, dispenses her own brand of wisdom, then flits off to another thread to do the same there... I've never seen post more than once in any thread... T.
