  1. Haha! Love it! But can anyone explain why they can predict the extremes like Friday, but hardly ever get it right at any other time? T.
  2. I remember that poor fat Rotti being featured in a doco on TV... the owner was a little "strange"... T.
  3. There are some groups out there that are receiving funds from PR... T.
  4. Nic please take heart that Annie and your Dad will be together again now, OK? T.
  5. The department can also ask the party to produce the documents if there is a formal request for them - it just may take longer if you go that route... T.
  6. You can also request the finacials and other documentation from the department responsible and they will get it for you for the same costs... T.
  7. Harper and Stevie went for a walk together soon after that too... I was pretty happy that she took Stevie's lead when we had to use the freeway overpass walkway - the big trucks and stuff roaoring by underneath didn't seem to faze her at all, and she met some kids at the skate bowl thing who thought she was pretty cute, but they loved Stevie's tricks more! It won't be long before Sammy will be more equal to Harper in weight and agility, and then I reckon we'll get some even more funny vids... *grin* T.
  8. Finally, I think the southerly is kicking in... there is WIND!! Now Huey... some rain and cooler wind would be really nice thanks... T.
  9. I live in a fibro box with only ceiling fans to push the hot air around... even if I did have air con, I probably wouldn't be able to afford the electricity costs to run it anyways... *sigh* I left the house shuttered up when I left for work this morning, and it only heated up to a nice cool (at the time I got home anyways) 37 degrees... and at least it's still not risen more than that inside since I got home... I must say a huge thanks to Katdogs for checking on my babies through the hottest part of the day today - it was a huge ask to make her leave the relative safety of her own air conditioning to venture across to my place in 46 degree heat! She is truly the bestest!! T.
  10. I can see the clouds, but they are just teasing me right now... and the BOM radar isn't exactly showing anything on the horizon either... C'mon Huey! Send me some cooling rain goddammit! Zeddy is still playing velcro dog, but I'm not seeing anything coming yet when I go outside - it all seems to be missing us as bloody usual! T.
  11. I called my Mum today to complain that the temp where she lives in North East NSW was only 26 degrees, and we were sweltering here in Sydney - but we were all OK and the lovely Katdogs has been checking my furkids while I was at work. Mum said that the last ime it peaked over 45 degrees in Sydney was when her mother was pregnant with her... 73 years ago! And they didn't have air con back then in suburbia... errr! Well - we've now officially had the hottest day in recorded history in Sydney... and I hope it's at least another 73 bloody years before we see another like it! There's something nasty brewing though... poor Zeddy is doing the thunderstorm freak out show already and refused to have her dinner. Just what I need in this heat, a velcro Rottie cross! T.
  12. I see myself as extremely lucky to be able to foster puppies... and have had them in care as young as 4 weeks (dumped at a pound that young). I think what many people don't realise is the huge possibility of disease when pups that young are out in public... because most people want to show off their new puppy... My oldest current permanent dog was a FTGH 5 week old pup when I got her... now 13 and still thinks she's a puppy... *sigh* I will say that caring for the really young pups is actually easier than fostering them over 10 weeks... and you really do get to mould their little personalities when they are very young. Then again, I'm probably not your average puppy "owner" when you figure in that I'm raising my little charges to be awesome family pets for other people to adopt... The funniest query we've had was for an 8 week old pup that would come fully vaccinated, house trained, and obedience trained... unfortunately, we couldn't fill that request... lol! T.
  13. I thought that the German lines were more the shorter and stockier type - nicely turned out dogs... The largest Rotti boy I ever had was very leggy and long fellow that weighed in at 47kg - he was quite a lean boy and was not easy to keep the weight on. He was also a pet shop purchase, so who knew what parentage he had? He was also the biggest sooky lala you would ever meet... bigger doesn't necessarily mean "tougher"... lol! He died of bone cancer at the age of 7... *sob* My papered Rotties were all in the 35-40kg range - which was actually not small at all... funnily enough, the general public would always guess their weights as much higher than that. My latest puppy is Great Dane cross (crossed with something stockier), and we are quessing that her final weight range may be in the 45-55kg range... and that's no small dog! Her last weigh in tipped the scales at 19kg at 19 weeks, and she's nearly as tall as my Labrador now too. I really can't imagine an 80kg Rotti... it would be immense... and in my eyes... ugly... T.
  14. If I wasn't involved in rescue and came across some of the pages out there in internet land, I'd be having second thoughts about wanting anything to do with it... It's a bit sad when the lunatics appear to be fully in control of the asylum... *sigh* T.
  15. The one in care at NSWAR is very timid, but she's coming along well in her foster home... she really does want to make friends, but doesn't quite understand how to yet... I don't know if it's indicative of the breed, or maybe she's just nervy for some other reason. She's perfectly fine playing with other dogs of all sizes, just very shy of people. T.
  16. Just for looking? Ouch... that's harsh... lol! I never posted anything... T.
  17. Whatever you do, don't get involved in rescue - you will learn more about poopies and nasties than you ever wanted to know... errr! You sound like a devoted "parent" to your new puppy... and that's a great thing. If you aren't sure about something, come here, or ring the vet and ask all the questions you like... And I'd like to see photos too please... T.
  18. Worked for me yessterday, but not today... strange... T.
  19. Not enough info anywhere public to allow one to make any real assessment as to whether this would be a goer or not... I'll wait until I see it operational before making up my mind here... T.
  20. You need to be logged into Facebook before you can see that page... T.
  21. I'll have to get you a pic of one we have in foster care Horsegal98... they are very pretty dogs... *grin* T.
  22. You have a good point there WIW... but we make 100% sure with the vaccs, just in case it's all been blind luck up to the point that they needed rescue... *grin* T.
  23. Are you looking for one, or know of one that needs rescue? T.
