I am privileged to have met Rocko - if he had have fitted into my car, he'd be a Moocher now, but somehow I think his absence would have been noted.  He could fit into my car... and I've thought about snaffling him up myself... such a sweet boofer... Rocko also gets the best "crazy eyes" thing going on when there's treats on offer... we need a pic of that Caz... lol! T.

Looks like a very rare Cuddlehound to me... Loving the last pic... how gorgeous is he? T.

Hard to say exactly how big Rex will be when he finishes growing... he's about 15kgs now at 21 weeks... but his sister (my girl Harper) is 21kgs. I'd hazard a guess that he'll be somewhere from the tall end of medium through to mid large size? He'll never be a chunky dog - he's a slim-ish build, but may fill out a little once he matures. Not so big that you couldn't lift him if you had to methinks... possibly between 25 and 30kgs max? My girl is looking to be around 45+ kgs at the rate she's going, but she was always the tallest of the litter. He's a really lovely young chappie who has perfected the art of cuddling - as you can see by his photos - that's my face he's kissing... oh, and he travels well in the car with no upchucks! He is located about 20 mins south of Penrith - or about an hour northwest of Wollongong. If you would like to meet Rex, feel free to drop me a PM and I'll happily give you the phone number of our rescue coordinator so you can arrange a meeting with him. T.

Sammy The Anti-gardener And His Big Weekend

Ummm... your sis could carry your luggage to the car and drop you off at the airport... then me or Katdogs could pick you up at this end - the airport is about 15 mins away from us. No excuses about carting luggage will work... lol! As for the smooch fest... I'm sure we could work out a system of one dog at a time for you to cuddle... *grin* T. -

How Do I Stop My Puppy Getting The Washing Off The Line?
tdierikx replied to jess live die's topic in Puppy Chat
You must be loaded. lol. The cost of electricity these days is prohibitive. Anyway, I like the smell of freshly dried clothes off the washing line. I don't have that much washing... *grin* T. -
What Is The Best Way To Keep A Dog At Night
tdierikx replied to I love goldens's topic in Puppy Chat
I crate train all of my foster pups... so worthwhile in so many ways... The best thing about crating at night is that they are somewhere safe, and can't eat the house... you'll learn what that means soon enough with a Goldie pup... *grin* T. -
Blue Staffords aren't rare at all... but completely healthy and well bred ones aren't... *grin* I'm all for the blue colour if it's an odd one in a litter of otherwise standard coloured pups... but there's no way on the planet I'd be buying one that was from a litter specifically bred to be blue (ie. blue to blue mating). If I were looking for a purebred Stafford, I would prefer a black (read brindle with little or no tan) one... I think they look totally divine! T.

Hey gwp4me... we have a pup named Rex who is similar in looks to Dallas... well, similar in that he's brindle and gangly and full of life and love... he's my heart dog's brother... and we are closer to you than Newcastle... *grin* He plays nice with others and is small dog friendly. We haven't tested him with cats, but I'd think if the cat was dog savvy and told him to back off, he'd not have an issue with that. His birthdate is 2/9/2012, so he's 21 weeks old now. Don't you think he's got the most gorgeous soulful big brown eyes? The following 3 were taken yesterday... the blue brindle one is my Harper - his sister... Feel free to PM me if you are interested in Rex... we won't mess you around... T.

I could lend you Harper... she eats the same amount as my other 3 girls each - only Harper has hers 3 times a day, and they only get fed once a day. How heavy is Sammy now? Harper weighed in at 21.2kgs this morning... *grin* T. -
In all fairness hotdogz, I've had to hold a dog while it was given it's wings that was perfectly fine with me, but a complete nightmare of a dog when it came to anyone else - to the point of bailing up and attacking anyone who wasn't me... is that the kind of dog that should be rehomed - or held indefinitely in kennels until it decided to like anyone but me? Would that really be fair on the dog? T.

Way to go Buddy! I remember bring him home to you from HP Rach... he gave me kisses at regular intervals... *grin* He looks like he's completely content with his new family... and seems to have formed a bond with his "boy" too... awesome! T.

Very true... ALL of them are seriously cute! T.

Councils are seeing their (dog) kill (I prefer the term "euth") stats dropping... which is what the public have been harping at them for years to achieve. PR are instrumental in getting dogs out of the pounds and out of council's responsibility - be that in a good way or not, the effect is the same as far as the councils see it. MOST of the dogs that PR are getting out of the pounds are available for any member of the public to adopt straight from the pound - so no DOC after they are gone from the pound required really. For those marked RTRO, then surely the pounds have some sort of formal agreement that rescues taking them must abide by? If not, then what's the point of marking them as RTRO? Do those agreements (if any are in place) get followed up on? What are the consequences listed as reprisal for breaking them? Councils/pounds do NOT have to work with any rescue if they don't want to - a 16D doesn't automagically give you the "right" to rescue from any pound - it still comes down to council/pound discretion... especially if what that rescue is doing with the dogs they get out comes under scrutiny for poor practices. I know pounds that work really well with rescue, but have precluded certain ones from getting any dogs out. T.

To get a photo like that takes "wranglers"... you have someone placing the pups in a line, then you start snapping as soon as they move out of frame. 3 week old pups are darned cute though, aren't they? But as cute as they are, we see way too many of their mums abandoned in pounds while pregnant... those pups were whelped within days of their mum arriving at our rescue. We also had another preganant poundie girl at the same time who whelped 6 days after the pictured litter. Here's our attempt to get the other litter of pups to pose in a row... lol! ... and here's what I have to contend with when trying to take pics of puppies... ... it's a hard job... NOT!!! T.
