As an owner of large dogs, I can see where some of the "detractors" are coming from with regards to certain small dogs and their owners' behaviours. However - there is NO excuse for ANY dog to react to the presence of another dog to the point of killing it - provocation or not! T.

I'm sure my Lab would be capable of hunting for food - but she won't share it... *grin* It's probably a good thing I was taught to hunt by our house boi when we lived in the highlands of PNG... neither me or my dogs would starve... T.

Regardless what I've said in previous posts, I reckon you are doing an awesome job there Cleveland. It's pretty rough when the 3 groups supposedly responsible for animal welfare in your area can't be arsed to come and do something about the abandoned cats - thus effectively dumping them in your lap to deal with... *sigh* T.

Where would it be legal to rehome any animal that does not legally belong to you? T.

I use a program called Easy Thumbnails... http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/ It allows you to save the resized files with different names, to specified directories, etc - thus saving the original files from irreversible changes. T.

Regardless of the negative stats for impounded cats, it is still the law that any stray cats are reported to council. It is also illegal to feed and/or rehome any cat that you do not personally own. I understand where you are coming from cherylv, but advocating breaking the law is not a good idea - no matter how well meaning your advice is. Yes, the law is draconian - but it IS still the LAW, and penalties can apply if the law is broken. T.

While I think it would be cool to own a fox, I don't think the average pet owner can be counted on to be 100% responsible about it. We already have way too many people who own cats that believe that it is their natural "right" to roam the neighbourhood and do what cats do... and we have laws and regulations specifically regarding cat ownership that are being ignored on a daily basis. How can we be sure that someone owning a fox would follow the "suggestions" of those adopting them out to the public? To own most exotic pets one needs to have a license - and I believe that should be true for fox ownership also. Gaining a license would involve training and learning all about the needs and instincts of the fox, and how to keep them safely in a dommestic setting. What worries me a lot is how cheap these pet foxes are being sold for - $250 to $350 - well within the means of pretty much anyone who wants one. T.

The most foster pups I've ever had was 14 (2 litters, one of 8, and the other of 6 - 6 days apart in age)... it's a lot of work, but it's also very rewarding to be involved in the rearing of great little individuals. I have no doubt that Furia's pups will be "worth" way more than the asking price for their adoptions - awesome lines, health testing, great thought going into the mating, and of course the wonderful MonElite as their "grandma"... priceless! T.

Not all crossbreeds are a combination of the worst aspects of any particular breed. I'm not too sure about showing them at CRUFTS though... errr! T.

Somehow I can't see TimV breaking into someone's kennels and poisoning dogs with Ratsak... T.

I would have thought you would be too busy with all of the wonderful things you do for poundies and rescues to organise a break-in and poisoning of someone else's dogs shmoo... Beggars belief that they think that anyone at the top of their list could actually ever entertain the thought of harming ANY dog to "prove a point"... although there are some on the list who HAVE advocated some pretty scary things be perpetrated upon others and their charges. We had to call the police about at least one of the people on that list when they were advocating some pretty radical actions on their own facebook pages against us. T.
