  1. Hahaha! Might take you up on that minimax... they are currently smaller than your two... T.
  2. I'm reading between the lines here and seeing that maybe the dog issue is causing friction in the human relationship - or is a catalyst for same... T.
  3. We have no idea what size they may grow to... my Harper (the horse puppy) was about the same size when she was 6 weeks old, and she grew enormous! Then again, we've had larger pups in this age bracket that didn't grow very big at all... I'm tipping maybe in the kelpie/BC size bracket when they finish growing... T.
  4. Feed him a small breakfast this morning, and see if he'll drink water. It's possible he's eaten/chewed something that didn't agree with him. Odds are he'll be fine this morning - pups usually bounce back pretty quickly from tummy upsets. If he's not interested in breakfast or water this morning, maybe duck home at lunch and if he's still off, take him to the vet. T.
  5. They are definitely active! And smart too! Worked out not to walk in ant swarms pretty quickly... lol! Anyone know how to eradicate ants from under your path (has lots of cracks and appear to have a huge nest underneath) that is non-toxic to dogs/pups? T.
  6. My dogs are restrained in crates or if using a harness, the range on the lead part is extremely restricted. My lead clips into the seatbelt clip too, as I don't trust the seatbelt itself to not have give. T.
  7. OK - the 3 boys are all predominantly black/tan - the 4th black/tan one (girl) has the gorgeous even tri coloured face with the white stripe between the eyes - the one near the crate in the pics. Little Gifts - your fave one is a boy... *grin* The runty ones are the small black/tan boy, and the 2 black/white girls - but they have good appetites and plenty of food available, so I don't see them staying runty for long. They all have dirty ears (inside) but it doesn't smell or look red underneath - most likely from being housed on dirt? - I'll get all of that out soon, and give their nails a clip while I'm at it. They have now worked out that when the food lady sits down, she has a great lap for snuggling in... *grin*... pile on and jostle for the best position... T.
  8. You think Kelpie/BC maybe? She's gorgeous, isn't she? Cuddly too! T.
  9. Hahaha! I think we'll have to come up with something softer - that one is a shy one... Thanks Nina - but it's the camera that takes the good pics... I just point it in the right direction and hit the button... lol! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful work you do Nina - I don't know if you realise how wonderful you are... but you are amazing! T.
  10. Huntaway and BC were mentioned as possibilities in their mix... could be Beagle too... anyone else seeing that? I just hope it could be Beagle and not Foxhound... errr! Whatever they are mixed with, they are all deadly cute and seem to be well over being timid any more... lol! Maybe they've worked out that I'm the food and cuddles lady? They've all met Trouble and Pickles - they are too little for Harper to play with just yet - and they are not scared of checking out strange dogs at all... they chased Pickles about even. One of them found an ant swarm on the back path, and wouldn't you bet on it, they all had to go stand in it... grabbing pups and wiping off cheesed off ants for a little while before they realised that standing in that spot was not a good idea. The ants are only small black ones, but they are aggro when they are in swarms - the rain has brought them all out... *sigh* T.
  11. Could you drop these guys off at a vet clinic to be euthed? Apparently that's what their owner did... *sigh* They are around 5-6 weeks old, and are the sweetest little guys and gals. We have 4 girls and 3 boys. Big thanks to Nina, Rhonda, Marshall, and the foster carer that had them for the night before they came to us... these guys are safe and well, and playing up a storm! To the vet and ranger that looked for rescue for these babies... you are awesome! Oh - you want pics... OK then... There are 4 black and tan, 2 black and white, and 1 tan. 1 black and tan, and 2 black and white are a little runty, but holding their own just fine - all have very healthy appetites! All are on RC Junior and loving it. All poos are looking good, no sloppies... yay! Please excuse the wormy look on a couple of them, apparently the foster carer that had them overnight wormed 3 of them, but we aren't sure which 3 - so I will be worming them all later this week - don't want to overdose anyone now... T.
  12. Terriers can be tenacious little dogs... with a very high pain threshold to boot... T.
  13. I'm pretty sure the regulations in NSW are that pregnant bitches and neonates aren't supposed to be sold from the pound... T.
  14. Pretty much any pound in NSW would have had to euthanaise her (and any pups she may have given birth to whilst there) if not for rescue. They can't sell a pregnant or nursing bitch to the public straight from the pound. And that's why rescue are so fastidious about desexing everything before rehoming... we see so many of these mummas and/or bubs in pounds... *sigh* T.
  15. I wouldn't want to be the people from "the" grooming place if they do try to go to Groom Quest... somehow I don't think they would feel very welcome. I think someone should email/fax/letterbox their establishment with a printout of the Buddy Award page from the Groom Quest website... T.
  16. Isn't Narla awesome? Not many mummas would handle having the foster aunties and uncles looking on from behind a flimsy fence... The bubs are getting BIG! T.
  17. I'm smelling 7 of them here... *grin*... 5-6 weeks old... ahhh - puppy breath! T.
  18. What gorgeous little fatties... congrats "grandma"... *grin* You are aware that now you've posted pics of them, you have to give weekly photo updates... T.
  19. I entered a comp at a country show a couple of years ago... didn't win anything, but the biggest thrill was seeing that my photos didn't look out of place hanging there near the photos that did win... *grin* Your photos are awesome - and I reckon you have a good chance of winning something - if not, the judges are blind... T.
  20. Oh my! There was a really gorgeous little dog under all that filth! T.
  21. Depending how far up the mountains you are, it could be worth the trip to see Ted or Robert at Rossmore vet clinic - awesome vets! T.
  22. Way to go Groomquest! An awesome recognition of the need for groomers to maintain great welfare standards as well as having good grooming skills. What a positive way for sweet Buddy to be remembered! T.
  23. One person just cannot run a shelter with more than a few dogs and hold down a fulltime job... it's impossible. You could probably do maybe a dozen dogs at most on your own - bearing in mind that the daylight hours you have are shorter in winter too... then there's all of the vetwork, paperwork, advertising, etc, that goes into running a rescue... Maybe she (or Mark) could rally up a decent network of foster carers like a lot of other rescues have, and move some (read most) of her physical workload away from the actual shelter? T.
