Dog Playing Fetch With Itself - So Damn Cute
tdierikx replied to HollyMilo's topic in General Dog Discussion
Very cute! T. -
Here's what my new lens gave me on it's very first outing the day I got it and had no clue how to use it... Must go somewhere there are seagulls and stuff - like Manly - for a really good workout... T.
-
Can-do probably owns a pet shop mutt he paid way too much for... Seriously though, did the PIAA contribute to his campaign fund or something? Or is he really just that ill-informed about where pet shop puppies come from? (Accredited or not) T.
-
Hmmm... wonder how much to fly to Tassie to see FM... ? T.
-
First view of puppy eyes is worth the drive, no? *grin* T.
-
Really - I'm getting used to the weight of the camera and lens - and building some upper body strength at the same time... win/win, yes? Add that to the fact that walking around the Zoo is doing wonders for developing calf/leg muscles and general fitness - and the whole Zoo is non-smoking, so I can't have a puff whenever I feel the need... I may get fit in the process... *grin* T.
-
You know we are going to want the eyes coming open shots... so you may be travelling a few times this week... lol! T.
-
I may need to come visit your place with "the beast" (lens) - I reckon you'd have a blast with it.... and I'd just sit happily playing with your gorgeous doggies... lol! Sound like a fair trade? T.
-
Absolutely loving your work FM... what camera/lens are you using there? T.

Breed Specific Info On Dogs In Sa ?
tdierikx replied to Christina's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
RSPCA SA has a new CEO who is not averse to working with rescue... Maybe if you send your query to him for any chance of the data you seek, he may be somewhat more obliging than his predecessors? T. -
I'm building impressive biceps from holding 'the beast up, that's for sure! Getting smarter about finding good vantage points that allow for resting arms or elbows on - or leaning into poles or walls for keeping steady. Think it's working? LisaCC - those 3 and the echidna checking me out are some of my faves too... T.

Damn! And here I was thinking you are a pro at these things... lol! T.
-
Check out the piggie Iggies... lol! Poor Widget, they are growing fast! You have excellent bag tearing technique Kirislin... haha! T.
-
100% agree with that statement... probably the most succinct and sensible posting of the entire thread... *grin* T.
-
So glad I didn't have a mouthful of coffee while reading that Kirislin... *giggle* It was worth it all though to see Widget and her babies, yes? How did the old body pull up on Thursday after all that strenuous exercise? T.

Talking of baby lions... I noticed that our male at Taronga was fairly interested in the scent of one of our females yesterday... and she was being quite flirtatious with him too... could we maybe see something interesting happen there? Fingers crossed! Waiting patiently for our pregnant chimps to do their thing as well... one girl is looking very uncomfortable and lazy right now... *grin* Our Snow Leopards have been mating recently... fingers crossed that it has been successful and we see healthy and strong babies sometime in the nearish future. Spring is in the air, and there is a lot of saucy business going on all over the zoo actually... It's a pity that all our Binturongs and Red Pandas are all male... babies of those would be too cute for words, yes? T.
-
Poor Widget is going to be a very busy girl when they become more mobile and can see exactly where the milk bar is... *grin* They are already starting to look like little sighthounds, aren't they? Little noses getting longer, and those adorable little feet... *squeal* T.
-
I sent in an entry the first year they ran this - wasn't selected, but that was fine too... My problem is that they donated money and gave lots of kudos to a particular "rescue" that I'm not sure I want to support. Do they still support the "rescue" that shall not be named? T.

Simply by actually enforcing the current laws and regulations will slow the production of unsuitable pets... but it will cost money to put the actual people out there to do so - so it's not likely to be considered. Spending money is apparently a bad thing as far as politicians are concerned... *sigh* T.
-
Hmmm... how would it be funded? It costs money to euth (and dispose of) animals - not to mention the provision of care to those that are impounded and waiting for new homes... Then there's the fact that certain breeds are over-represented in pounds due to getting to that silly adolescent stage - prime fodder for unsuitable owners to completely mess up. Here's an even more novel thought - lets pour some resources into actually enforcing the laws and regulations we already have to deal with the problem... T.
-
The bolded question has been used by me too... and it works really well... especially when you then reinforce it with how that can happen... T.
-
You have the coolest volunteering job ever grizabella! Zuri is too cute for boots! T.

I'm loving it LisaCC... and I think I'm improving somewhat too... I only took 730 photos today... *grin*... previous visits have been well above 1000 to sort through (and delete a lot of... errr!) What really irked me today was this bunch of people who had 3 or 4 strollers with sleeping children in that they jammed up to all of the possible viewing points for the big cats so that no-one else could get near enough to take pics without getting glare off the glass... how hard would it have been for them to move the darned strollers out of the way and let everyone enjoy the view? They were also really rude in other ways too... spoils it a bit... I had a good chat with one of the lovely ladies that looks after the gorillas, and she was looking through the pics I got today with much pleasure... I think when I've got enough really nice ones, I'll make up a photo book for the keepers... they do an awesome job... and it would be a nice thank you, yes? T.
