  1. Zeddy is getting birthday messages from lots of people... thanks heaps all! When I think about it, the only illness Zeddy has ever had was a case of Kennel Cough about 7 years ago - all of my dogs got it then... She's a very healthy specimen really... *grin* T.
  2. Zeddy can be selectively deaf... mostly at the dog park when she's catching up with her doggy friends... she can hear the feed bin opening from right up the back of the yard though... T.
  3. I must admit that my first thought was about you Ams... but Hugo has a Menacing dog order on him, so is legally unrehomable... This sort of thing must really tick you off... why should YOU take responsibility for someone else's idiocy? Feel free to use any of my "eloquent" post in any of your replies to people pushing you about this dog, OK? T.
  4. I'm starting to think that maybe the media campaign could sway the council into giving this dog back to his owners... their response to my post is nothing short of delusional... Really, I think that a 2 year old dog that has been the subject of 20 complaints and numerous seizures by council should probably be put down. I know it's not his "fault" he's turned out the way he has, but he is clearly a menace to the community. T.
  5. Zeddy is 15 today... She's not as fast as she used to be, and has a bit of arthritis in the back legs, but her hearing and sight are still good. Has made it through this winter without the need of any meds for the arthritis. Still enjoys going to the dog park on the odd occasion. She's been fed all sorts over the years, but is currently on Supercoat and doing very nicely on it. She is kept on condition and not allowed to get fat, which I reckon is the key to her longevity. T.
  6. Yep, she's still filling out :) Is she still entire? If she is, then you will probably find even more "blossoming" after her next season :) I'm going to hold you to that promise of new photos of her! Aww tdierikx You're right though, they do get under your skin in a special way. I've never had a time in my life without rottweilers, and can't imagine not having them around - wonder if my eventual nursing home will be happy about that.... I still cry over Enya, she was such a soulmate to me and there will never be another dog like her, for me. Also - I LOVE Woosie as a name, how very appropriate :) Hahahah! I'll tell Nova to get right onto that :p I'm totally drowning this thread in puppy photos when they're born, be warned! :D 4 weeks to go! Bring it on!!! T.
  7. I just replied to your bird post Leanne... if you hit reply on mine, then you'll see what I edited to do it, OK? T.
  8. I cleaned up the links a bit... T.
  9. Are we allowed to post captive birds in this thread? I've got some really nice ones from Featherdale... T.
  10. Almost 10 years now since my beloved heart dog Woosie the Rottie went to The Bridge... I miss her so much that I still cry when I think about her... and I can't actually talk out loud about her to anyone without losing it still either. That's how a Rotti grabs you... I lost a part of my soul when she had to leave me... *sob* T.
  11. Don't underestimate the quality a "cheap" Tamron lens can give you... they make VERY nice lenses indeed! T.
  12. I just posted the following to the Save Hugo Facebook page... dog, I hope they pay heed if they get him back... Whilst I completely understand the heartache you are feeling about the position Hugo is now in - and I feel strongly for HIM... I'm a little less than impressed with some of the justifications you have put forward for not being able to contain Hugo after you were served with a "Menacing Dog" Order some time ago. As an owner of 4 dogs myself - and having been involved with dog rescue for a number of years - I can't understand why you didn't make an enclosed run for him in the yard, or contain him in the house when you were unable to supervise him and stop him from roaming the streets and scaring the general public by running up to them (be it in a "friendly way" or not). The Menacing Dog order would have come with strict instructions as to how Hugo should have been contained, yet it appears that the family were unable to comply with that containment - and now Hugo will inevitably pay the ultimate price for that non-compliance. It is impossible (and possibly illegal) to simply rehome Hugo to another family who may be able to cater to his needs in a way his current family obviously cannot - as he comes with a Menacing Dog tag - and thusly Hugo will most probably pay for this sorry state of affairs with his life. This is a very hard lesson to learn in dog ownership... and Hugo's owners need to stop making excuses and start taking some responsibility for his predicament, as I can see us all being back at this same point if he's given back to them this time. If he is returned, then for dog's sake bloody well keep him contained or on leash at ALL times - as there will be no second chance after this, OK? Simply moving to acreage "so he can run" is not going to cut it. If he ends up on someone else's property and is upsetting them or their animals, he will simply be shot... no second chances there, and no great Facebook or media campaigns will bring him back from that fate. T.
  13. Now that's a photo that needs printing, framing, and hanging on the wall! T.
  14. I wonder if it could be because the pup in question is blue From the looks of the rest of the litter in the video, there were a few blue ones... I'm a cynic... reckon the whole thing is very suspect. T.
  15. If only you were serious about that offer... lol! I'd take a boy in a shot! T.
  16. It doesn't say anything else was stolen - and in the background of the reporter there are a lot of nice coloured pups... why would you take just one? Something sounds suss... T.
  17. You only need that voice for the girls I've found... most of the boys are big sooky la-la's. My last boy (Connor) would actually wee if you raised your voice at him... but we never had to really, as he was such a sweet natured thing... T.
  18. So - if/when I've got room for another Rotti... how the hell do I choose between the wonderful breeders' showing off their scrummy babies here? Do I have to apply for one from each of you? T.
  19. Who steals a 4 day old pup? Bizarre... T.
  20. If I didn't already have 4 dogs... I so miss having a Rotti... *sigh* Zeddy (who will be 15 this Thursday) is half Rotti... so I'm sorta kinda still living with one... lol! If you look really hard, you CAN see some Rotti in there... T.
  21. You'd be amazed at how little exercise some of them want... most of mine were all lazy buggers who preferred snuggling with me on the couch or the bed... Warning though... you won't be able to stop at just one... errr! T.
  22. But puppies over 8 weeks of age. Or at least they adjust the DOB to make it appear that the pups are 8 weeks or older... *sigh* How are you going to prove otherwise? T.
