It's nice to see a positive story of late, I must admit I hadnt really given much thought about peoples livestock in regards to the flooding. I mean in the back of my mind I knew, but I guess because I dont live it I didnt pay much mind to it. Its good to read about people helping each other so much, oh and the great work of the stockdogs.

It's virtually impossible to get any sort of crisis let alone transitional accomodation with animals in tow in Australia. Mission Australia has one program running in Melbourne that will allow I think up to 2 dogs, but still tis is only a temporary arangement of maximum 3 weeks. The point between being homeless and finding suitable accomodation just for yourself is extreamly difficult, 23 animals and it's impossible.

Dog puts bite on armed thug [*]From: PerthNow [*]March 22, 2010 9:21AM AN armed robber has come off second best after attempting to mug a man as he walked his dog in a Mirrabooka park. The 23-year-old man was walking in the park next Boyare Pimary School earlier this month in Allamanda Gardens when he was confronted by three men who asked him what he had in his pockets before one of them threatened him with a knife. The man released his dog, which latched onto the leg of one of the offenders as the other two fled. The victim called his dog off the man, who also ran off. The three men are described as being dark skinned, about 180-190cm tall, aged between 18 to 23. Police want to talk to anyone who saw the March 11 incident or who knows someone fitting the description of the offenders who has bite wounds to his lower leg. Calls can be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

I think a bit of competition and a rival would go a long way, it seems it's stitched up atm. It would cost absolut truckloads of money to get going properly imo, if you look at it like a business one mobs been around since for ever and has a well known brand name , any new business is a no name newbie without any cred good or bad. It' be real hard work.

RIP Milo, He was a great looking little horse.

Theres no doubt 23 animals in a car is no place for animals, and should have been removed from that situation, but what the heck is fining someone 4 gand plus 5 grand towards the RSPCA when they more than likely dont have 2 bob to rub together given she is living in a car going to do?

You dont get it, because theres nothing sane about BSL. Nothing. Only the insane could justify this. It's completly offensive to a rational mind. I hope what ever help or guidence is available this bloke and his old dog get any assistance they need if it's not to late.

It craps me off no end when people pitch right on top of you when theres miles of space around, I hate it, I know why they do it and it's sad, I feel sorry for them even though it gives me the shits. I think your dog done well for a first experience it would have been very exciting for him.

I'm surprised staffies are at number 7. They might just be a more popular breed in my area.

Jeez he would want to get paid a lot!

It beats me why the court couldnt give her a community corrections order intead of licence suspension. Community service cleaning out pound cages would be more worthy than hanging out for 150 bucks 3 years ago.

It might also have to do with 'none so blind as those who will not see',alternative ('None so deaf as those who will not hear'). Even when things are obvious to all around them and they are presented with facts, in the eyes of the owner their dog could never be the one in the wrong.

Water For Your Dog When Walking
GeckoTree replied to BIG-DOG-LOVER's topic in General Dog Discussion
On long walks, a small tupperware container that I lost the lid from. No taps around here unles I head into town. I had a little brass tap handle spanner that I would carry in the city, so many taps without handles. -
RIP minnie, tradgic. I dont know how I would react if my dog was torn to shreds.
