Requirements For Dogs On Utes
GeckoTree replied to Miss BeRidgierent's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think Ruff wear makes a good sturdy 5 point harness. They are about $80 or something like that. I agree with the cage, I still dont have one built. -

I saw a guy on a motorcycle with a golden retriever riding in a side cart complete with doggles and a little helmet on! Looked so funny! But really good. -

Not in qld, the only requirements is not on laps or on a motorcycle tank. Question: How should I carry my animal in my vehicle? So long as the animal is not in your lap (or sitting on the petrol tank of your motorcycle) and not affecting your control of the vehicle, there are no rules prohibiting how you should carry your animal. It is advised however, that you securely restrain your animal using either a restraint or house the animal in a suitable cage or container. From road rules qld transport Q&A http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resources/...anda_290909.pdf The harness sounds a great idea though. -

How fast would it be for the state government to clarify its definition? It would have to be done ASAP I would think. -
From what I have heard I think it was a news report, the council have now passed the ball along to the state government in regards to whether or not they believe AST does indeed fall under the definition of a pitbull.

I'm glad she's putting on weight and doing well. I really hope this cretin who owned her gets some serious punishment.

I found after a permoxin bath no insects go near her, apart from that homebrand insect repelent lightly misted over her works good and it smells nicer than some other brands. -
Rabies free in 2 years, I really hope they can do it.

The ANKC wouldnt be much different to the NZKC would it? An NZKC breed was banned over night, still listed on dogzonline NZ breed pages though. -
Breeds That Are Similar - History
GeckoTree replied to zayda_asher's topic in General Dog Discussion
You might also want to look at the Presa Canario/Dogo Canario Breed, It's almost exactly the same that occured with your APBT/AST type all those years ago, only this breed split into seperation only a few years ago. one keeping its predominant working line on, one more show line. 1 allowed for now, one not etc. 2 breed standards, one in foundation with the AKC in America etc. I am only guessing this is for comparisons with your breed and something or other about thatw hole thing. -

I dont think it has to do with not thinking they were next, but more a matter of when, I read a thread from the beginning of this forum that said the same and that was 10 yrs ago. I am very surprised it has taken so many years to come to this point. All our councils (qld) could have added and regulated them at will at any point in time, still can, it would have made life easier for the councils on the breed identifing front all those years ago for certain if they would have done that. The problem with this is it wont be about local qld councils anymore if the GCCC gets its way, but could have a larger impact that could go to the point of prohibit importing them even. People must be blind if they couldnt see what would happen one day, the writing was on the wall in neon signs , you dont even have to have an interest in bull and terrier breeds to have seen it. I wish everyone with the AST the best of luck, and I do hope you dont have to find out what living a restricted life is all about. I have no doubt it isnt an easy one. -
Qld policy makers are retarded, it's no secret.
-
I dont think is paranoia, I have no doubt some twisted would do it. Many reasons, and thats just one. Best to keep your dog as ultra safe as possible from scumbags, plenty about.

It's interesting the Gold coast City councils tune now about being the same breed, I wonder if its probably better for them to go this way than open a potential flood of compensation claims by everyone whose dogs are misidentified? That might be the reason. most dictionary definitions say the same. ie definition pit bull see AST. -
I think the qld case that involved Bio Security qld will feature heavy in this show. Could be wrong though.
