Seems like the 'rules' off paper not the real world don't mean diddly squat no matter the states, a quick google on the net for apbt for sale shows the truth about how well the 'rules' are working. Scrap the crap, its a waste of time all ways has been and all ways will be.

At face value from this report it sounds really bad, a couple years back in Brisbane was another case about someone setting a dog supposedly unprovoked according to the news, but later it was found in court the 'victim' was instigating a crime of robbery. when i read that above i actually thought maybe he was attacking and damaging the car or was really into a rage, but who knows probably just thugs having a bad hair day. The court will find out, a father defends his son probably the apple of his eye.

Perhaps the RSPCA should earbash local governments offering discounted desexing to all, our local council has for instance free registration for all pets that are desexed. It has as far as I am aware made a difference to numbers finding themselves dumped, their used to be many more litters of unwanted pups dumped at the pounds gate according to staff a while back.

The best thing to do imo is to 'stock proof' the dog from toads, same sort of training as with stock proofing for chickens etc. The buggers can get into the most secure yards imaginable, it's like they can teleport themselves anywhere lol, I found one in the door well of my car the other week where the door hinge is, stuffed if I know how it got their .

Poor dog and people, it wont be much of a life when its declared dangerous for attacking people, muzzled and caged etc. unless some family member steps up and finds a defence for the behavior under what ever law it is in that state and saves its arse..

1} the regs is an arse and all ways has been from inception, they can't work to what they think they would ever work just like USA's alcohol prohibition etc etc.. 2) what does aqis and customs paperworks say to import dogs? a stat declaration saying it isnt a prohibited dog, and veterinary documentssaying what breed or crosses the pet is? , nothing else, as far as I know the federal government don't have a breed ID. Thats seems to just be state laws.,and very poor ones at that. papers are what ever pedigree the dog is or what ever pit bull or all breed registry they are registered with.

Not that I can find via google anyway. If ACT has no BSL at the moment, then most rescue orgs who are no breed specific would be able to help APBT's in need.

Try looking at some of the Asian import houses - I am thinking something like a cane cupboard - take off the doors, hang a curtain part-way and voila - cane canine cubby!! Google "cane furniture" and it's amazing - maybe time to haunt the second hand shops and garage sales? I like these , much better than my stupid idea

Aussie culture toward dogs probably up to the mid/late 80's was the same imo. I think that was when designer names were just starting, instead of saying a mutts a mutt or a X is a X. all these ridiculous names started appearing.
