Geeze, poor kid. Things like this are life changing, and at so young an age it alters paths of life time behaviour around animals, with no knowledge of what the alternatives could have been. In other words - Scarred for life, and not just in the physical, known or not. It will just be as all ways. Sad reading.

Bored Teen Pegs Puppy To Washing Line
GeckoTree replied to SwaY's topic in Dog Cruelty and Abuse News
A dipshit for facebook fame and an apology, I think the pup will recover, from a place of horse fights, dog, cock, and camel fights you have to think that's pretty low key overall. Bored indeedy. -
Probably 50% of Australians can't plan ahead for anything to do with their own lives at present, let alone the lives of another animal species in the future. So yes I think it would help a lot of these people to follow an architects plan. That direction, by people who can think and plan for them. If that were not the case state controlling bodies would not exist at this moment. I think they should be showing an interest in it now, when the writing is on the wall, not waiting until it has landed on their doorstep like what happened with the BSL debacle.

So nobody but Indonesia buys Aus beef? Maybe Aus will pick up a better paid market with a bit better animal slaughter practice somewhere else. Far out I dont know how an Indon could afford a steak anyway If they are paying as much as us suckers do.

What an absolute lowlife, I can't understand what would make someone pinch a dogs wheel cart, the mind boggles!

Yes, ad I am so polite I even say bless you when she sneezes.
-
Yes. Example, my dog knows where I am at a point of 1.4 km away, she reacts and waits at the door for me, this has been verified by 4 different people. PS I don't have BO or wear heavy deodorant.

Don't The Rules Apply To You Or Something?
GeckoTree replied to Maxiewolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
A Bull in a china shop comes to mind Editing, I tie my dog up outside the local corner store etc, no fuss is made. I wouldn't take her to a shopping centre though, kids have the worst germs, not worth her catching kid cooties. -
No no such thing around here. Not ever likely to be one either. Editing--- to say best of luck, I hope you are successful in getting NSW central coast first ever designated fenced dog park

I quite enjoyed reading the terriermans blog, some very interesting things in it even though I'm not particularly into terriers.

What To Put In The Backyard For Dogs?
GeckoTree replied to Isabel964's topic in General Dog Discussion
Many years ago I watched some TV show and on this show was a woman who built a 'Den' in the back yard for her dogs. It was awesome, I think it was a big old short drainpipe or coupling, with a mound of dirt over it, 2 or 3 access points, room enough to get in and sweep it out when needed. So the dogs had a backyard earth berm kennel 'Den', a hilltop top to sing on and be king of the castle with a great vantage point to see everything going on, a couple palm trees to take a leak and a great grassy knoll. Something like that would be fantastic, but I just dont have that passion My dog has a kong a bone a ball and a hammock bed. -
Cloned Stallion Imported By Top Breeder Of Quarter Horses
GeckoTree replied to lappiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
A step into the unknowen. Well I know I don't feel cloning is good for any animal species. Good for the hip pocket of a few though. Cloning Bulls is pretty big business. Worship the all mighty dollar Richard. Thats all it has going for it. -
Seen that too, very nice pic. better the dog than the walls of the house
-
I wouldnt, germ phobia. The kong gets squirted out with the hose on full bore round here.

I like walking early mornings more than afternoons, makes a nice start to the day, I figure it's the same for my dog.
-
Start of slow and easy, like people dogs probably get shin splints or similar conditions. I used to bike my dog around she loved it. But because she's getting on a bit now I don't.

People Who Cannot Control Their Dogs.
GeckoTree replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
I hear ya, what's worse to me is those that won't, not can't, control their dog. They just s***t me off big time. -
Not to sure about the documents transferring across states, but if the dog is in NSW and has been defined as being another breed or mix of breeds on a legal document for NSW then it would be easy to obtain the Qld document of identification from a QLD vet issuing the certificate saying it is the same breed or mix of breeds that is on the NSW document. But I don't know if the NSW BA is issued by a vet, if so I would think it would be able to transfer. Since it costs around 50 bucks just to walk into a vets then that would be the cost of obtaining the new piece of Qld paper.

Hi hotwyr, I actually carry a leatherman that has 2 3 inch lockable blades on it most days, I'm not looking for trouble, and its a utility tool that I have a lawful excuse to carry. One can generallty carry blades if they have a legitimate reason to do so. Self defence is not generally one of them but perhaps defence from a perceived animal attack is legitimate? I know of a story in perth that someone walking a cattle dog stabbed a staffy that rushed up to them, to my knowledge case dismissed. Even having a knife to cut up fruit for lunch if you have soft teeth is legit. all knives are just tools even those tactical type knives and have multiple uses. Some blades are outlawed however, double bladed, flick knifes etc. Now then just make sure you carry a watermelon around with you next time you want to take the machette out for a quick walk lol The amount of people carrying blades would be unknown in this country. I think it was OTT if the dog was just inquisitive and not aggressive, but also the mindset of the person comes into play, it could have triggered some real bad stress disorder from a previous attack who knows.

yeah try having a dingoe mix mongrel lol, never mind the fact i saved her from a shitty existence etc, worst i had was give her a bullet and be done with it!
-
Try out a few different butchers for pet mince, some are pretty good others not so good. Even different batches week to week have quality control issues from most places I've bought from. More fat less meat bone and offal etc compared to the week before.

Good luck Winston,He'll be fat and happy again in no time.

Well i know plenty who register at other addresses, and the dogs 'Visit", honestly honesty bis just a tick sheet, the councils know it, but they just want the tick sheet to save the sheet. IYKNWIM.

Errm the genetic gene pool on fraser isnt in decline, Dingoes frequently swim between inskip and the isle, there is a problem on the isle ,see the council whats money, ergo tourists and a draw card is the dingoe, so much as they try to deny the fact, it's not not just the beach, 4 wheeling and the lagoon. The biggest problem is the rubbish left behind, and people leaving scraps out for the dogs, dingoes are usually timid and recluse themselves from human contact but generation after generation have more or less seen them turn into pseudo "camp dogs'. loosing inhibitions. I am pretty much agreeing with those saying treat the isle like a game reserve.
