:cheer: That's great news. Well done on a super achievement .. never easy tracking through water. And the fog would have made it even harder. T.Ch. .... nice ring to it
-
Balance ... yeah - will try explaining that to the lil big man.
-
Rory says ... way to go AD and lil sis ????. One of the things we were learning at the workshop with Nancy is that sometimes it's necessary to apply the brakes a bit ... he was learning to respect my decel cues. Will be interesting to see if he still remembers when we get to be able to practise again.

Glad to hear Louis is still trending upwards :) - that has to be encouraging - along with the fact that he is feeling better and you can get some sleep, CC. Fingers and paws still firmly crossed for him. Condolences to OzJen - I didn't know Jenna, but it's always sad to hear of the passing of a beloved animal.

Good job RS and the lovely labs :D
-
So very, very pleased to hear Rosie's safe CC thinking about you too. How's Louis doing?
-
I think Elsie might order a new handler too, she would've had her RN title ages ago were it not for my complete inability to read the signs properly!!! She's not alone there :D

You must be on cloud 9 DD. That's a great effort. Love the versatile dogs :-). But thinking about it, we probably should get Troy to add a new marketplace where the dogs can advertise for better/younger/fitter/smarter .... Handlers..I know Kirra needs one ;-).
-
Not too bad for only a stud dog ;-). That's super! And love the photo of the Grand one :-).
-
Oh, that would definitely have made it much more doable. :-) Top job Gippsland ODC !

In my world it's a great day when you and the dogs enjoy the runs, even if the Qs are a bit scarce :-P. One of Nancy's things was not baby sitting....give clear and timely information...train independent obstacle performance, and trust the dog. :-). We covered so many topics over the week, from foundation onwards. Last session was acceleration/decel. I hadn't really done very much deceldecel with Rory, but working through the skill sets, he was starting to get it. :-).

Have just finished attending a great week long seminar/workshop with Nancy Gyes. Have always enjoyed her articles in Clean Run, and love her Alphabet Drills. The real thing was even better..... . what a fantastic teacher Now all I need is to try to put what I've learned into practice. :D

Yay! That's exciting .. September is looking good :-)

New Survey For Dog, Cat, Bird And Rabbit Owners
Tassie replied to tjhowell's topic in General Dog Discussion
Done here too. (I must admit I cheated and included my lovely old cat, although I actually had to make the hard decision to give her her wings today. That was particularly hard as it was a long distance decision ... I'm on the mainland atm, and had to rely on the vet's advice. ). But I figured if I'd done the survey this morning it would have been accurate. -
:( Good for Pink - another title for the family. Bummer about the other two. You know you guys are not filling me with confidence about the 7. But I did manage to get through it with the feral agility kid, so here's hoping. Better luck next time. It's hard when a dog is hard to read - that was one of my problems with Miss Kirra - that and the fact that she thought (and still thinks in TSD) - that everything should be done at warp speed :D .
-
Oh what a bummer about Waldo's injury. Just when you're on a roll. Congrats on the RA.
-
LOL TO :-). Congratulations on ryou achievement. Was that at Morwell? In which case I see your insanity....long way from obedience/rally to the agility rings. :-)
-
Oh what a heartbreak, kathq. So near and yet so far. Better luck next time. RubyBlue ...awesome day for you. Big congratulations on the TCh, especially. We're missing the first tracking trial of the year ...at an agility workshop instead, so out first go at 7 with Rory had to wait till July, I think. Kirra has a go at TSD Test 4 before then, so I have to try to get some training in while we're on the .mainland.
-
Yay murve and the gorgeous Orlando ...on a roll now :-). Edited because my phone doesn't know murve :-).
-
Yay TSD and Ziggy! And Abbiestar :-)
-
Oh that's upsetting. Paws and fingers crossed for you both.

Obedience Proofing Games And Fun Exercises
Tassie replied to leopuppy04's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My experience with my first boy (who also did tracking) was that although he sometimes goofed up his SB - and very occasionally would go looking again instead of going to the box, my walking over the ground beforehand didn't bother him. One day I had mowed the UD ring at my former club (getting it ready for a trial) - with an ordinary motor mower - so up and down many times. Decided to train him - was going to skip SB - then thought I'd try one just for fun. He astounded me - did it beautifully - go figure. -
Good luck with the CCD RnH. Remember, breathe, and have fun! And my hot tip for pivots - make sure you don't wear your best agility shoes. You want really worn tread, otherwise the shoes will grip on the grass, and you won't be able to pivot - in fact, you may well fall over  .

oh poop, DD - that's a shame. At least when Rory has failed a stay after passing everything else, it's been the sit stay. (My first BC boy did a 9 minute stand stay one time in UD - he was a bit worried about the stand in Rottie next to him - even though the howner, whom he knew, was standing with her and she was on lead - Sam took a couple of steps forward and then just stood! But it's nice that everything else was good. Better luck next time.
-
Great photos, DD - look at that girlie go. I love the one of her coming out of the chute. @TSD - - yes, you're right - it does sound crazy - and the sad thing is my friend (and coach} said it was the best run we'd had .
