  1. @bianca.a - make sure you find us and say hi. @Canine Coach :D I used to do the Gippsland Riviera 3 day in June - haven't done it for years. I love those clubs. Yeah - go for broke. I will be entering Adv B, and Excellent - which will only be A if the kids don't finish their RE the week before at our trial - the first one we've had since Albury. If they do - have to get their title application in on the Monday before the Bairnsdale trial, and ask the Trial Secretaries for a move-up to Excellent B. As long as my application has gone in, that should work -it does in Agility. The rule that Melody has quoted says "eligible to compete", which is the same wording as in agility - doesn't talk about entries, so I'm hoping. Will be good to catch up with you. :)
  2. Super well done to your kids, RubyBlue. We have our last tracking trial for the year this coming weekend. My Rory will have his first go at 6. He did a nice training track today on a 3 hour old track, so I hope he hasn't worn his nose out  .
  3. Forgot to say..the trial will be at Lucknow Recreation reserve ..google the club. :-)
  4. @Sue ... Kirra and I usually do 8 runs a day at a double agility trial .. Although I keep saying I'm getting too old for that :-) . How much we actually do will depend a bit on the weather. How it won't be too hot. @bianca.a ... yes the dogs and I are booked into Eagle Point Cottages. Hope they're nice. By all means come and have a look. I'll be the older woman with greying hair tied back..and 2 black and white Border Collies ..looking frazzled :-)
  5. The JG label has the doses for therapeutic and maintenance. Yes, I'm thrilled that Kirra is still so fit and keen. She gets chiro checked a couple times a year (more if necessary) and of course vet if she needs it. She is fine boned and kept very lean (much to her disgust). In spite of her rubbish handler (she nips me when I'm really unclear  ) she's still making time in Masters Jumping -- just - and agility.
  6. That's good to hear. My boy is entire, and can be a bit reactive to males - and flirtatious with girls. His eyes nearly fell out of his head when he was competing with a couple of gorgeous Standard Poodles girls in Albury. Thank goodness you can talk to them in Rally
  7. Yes I read that too megan_ - guess it depends on the breed and the age. Personally I wouldn't be giving it except on vet advice, to a pup before growth plates had well and truly closed.
  8. Ack - that's super hard for the dogs, isn't it, wuffles. Thank goodness I haven't encountered that yet - but as you say - good heads up to practixe that, just in case. ETF tpo
  9. Kirra is 10.5 years old - still competing in agility, track & search and rally (and the occasional DWD  ) - and nothing she does is at anything less than warp speed. Rory is only 4, doing obedience, rally , tracking and DWD but tends to do crazy stuff, as boy BCs do. There was a study in Labradors done a few years ago which according to a sports med vet who was talking at a seminar one day, tended to show some benefits in glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM as preventative as well as therapeutic.
  10. In the same boat - our next trial (a double) is not till the weekend before - Rory needs one Ex pass, Kirra needs 2. So I'll enter Adv B anyway, and Excellent - and hope for the best that it will be Exc B - at least with the Rory man. :D (I've probably put the mozz on myself now. ) Will enter Rory in CD, and Kirra in Masters and Open Jumping (and agility in Morwell) - might not do them all
  11. Like that answer. All things being equal, will be there with my two BCs - look forward to meeting you S & W. We've booked a dog-friendly SC cottage down towards Paynesville. :D Forgot to ask - you doing Morwell as well?
  12. RS - those pics are too funny - especially the last one. Oh, and Kirra says she's with Pippa - scratching yoiur back in the newly mown grass is COOL! :D
  13. Oh and I forgot to say - big congrats to you Wuffles. 1 to go, then on to the doubles for RAE. :D And great to see a mixture of dogs enjoying Rally.
  14. Yes was a bit tough - I do wonder if the ring had been reversed what would have happened but really not worried. I enter Royals with the thought that I am there to promote responsible dog ownership and my breed as well as provide some entertainment. A pass is just an added bonus :) That's such a great attitude. :D
  15. That's interesting, Inevitablue. Makes sense. Mine are on JG as preventative - they just have it sprinked on their yoghurt that they have with each meal - but they're quite happy if it's just sprinkled on kibble. :D Hmmm - the rotating makes sense too, Ptolomy.
  16. Super run xena98 - and well done to you and Gabby - and good luck for Ob. And well done on agility piper - that's hard for baby dogs having table near the lovely people .
  17. Good girl Jazz - and well done piper. Hopefully today will go well too.
  18. Learning to chill and be calm is a hugely important lesson - will make her life a lot easier. :) If you can get it, I was just reading an article in the August Clean Run emphasizing the importance of dogs learning to chill - first like you're doing, in relatively unexciting environments and then gradually upping the ante.
  19. Is he on tick prevention of any sort? Even if he is, regular checking, especially of the most likely areas - including under the tail, is a good idea. (But a pain in a coated dog). And yes - fingertips - you will usually feel them before yous ee them.
  20. Good news on both account. You must have remembered to breathe :-)
  21. That's super, PME - well done to you and Miss Kenzie.
  22. Add bats to the list LOL. And totally agree that crate is the way to go as HW and showdog have explained. Having a crate to sleep in at night is a nice thing all round (my almost 4 year old BC still sleeps in his crate beside my bed every night - door is open since he was a year old - his choice.) If you're worried, get a different crate to play Crate Games - but truly I don't think you need to worry.
  23. Those Top Buy ones and similar are quite good for the money ... BUT ... I don't think they have sides that come right down so not great for privacy or weather protection - and you need to peg them down in a wind.
