  1. Me too, they are so easy to do when they are pups.
  2. We have full on WAR at our house. Puppies are fighting, pulling ears, biting legs whatever they can get their teeth into. Mum wants out, we let her go. Hopeing for a nice day for some outside time to have a playtime so they can run and play and discover, little rat bags. Let them out in the house this morning and they are finally now all asleep. Edit to say that one puppy is eating kibble today. After all the trimmings to encourage them to eat it, she preferred it straight from the bag.
  3. PM'd you. JJ, I have the good intentions to drop back your hand santizer over the weekend but i've got a sick 4yr old and have been run off my feet. My ventures out have been to the doctors and chemist, sorry. Will return as soon as i have a free 10 minutes. Still battling with vomit, sore throat and ear infection.
  4. We are still not having alot of success on water either, just a occassional lick. Also not having any luck with kibble either, regardless of the extra milk and toppings to make it more appealing they turn their noses up at it. Fresh meat is all they desire. Our babies went outside today for the first time. Oh did they enjoy it, skipping and rolling around in the grass! They also meet dad, he was a bit wary but very good. Must of been a big experience they are all sound asleep now.
  5. Gee wizz the June thread certainly haven't had a great a great run. God or the angles are very greedy this month taking so many new born puppies over the rainbow bridge. Lets hope the remaining pups are strong fighters. Sorry for the loss one.
  6. You can steal my chocks, just not my puppies! I'm sure my daughter would be glad to see those chooks gone. Being able to play without consent companions of the feathured kind peaking at her fingers and toes. She is absolutely scared stiff of those chooks which is a shame as we hatched them and raised them together as a kiddy project and she was all excited, now that has turned to fear. I've debated selling them but think hubby is looking forward to fresh eggs. It would be nice if they stayed out of the garage and off the verander but they think they should come inside and my dogs don't blink at the sight of them. Had ducks for 5 years now and never had any issues with foxes. Crows will pinch eggs and cats would watch the chooks when they were little but we haven't had any major problems. Photos of my lot below.
  7. I've got chooks, purebred light sussex rooster, 1 purebred light sussex pullet, 1 australorp x pullet and 2 light sussex x with plymoth rock (speckled) pullets. Oh and 3 pekin ducks that lay every day (throw the eggs out as i have no use.) Chooks I hatched from my own attempt at incubating, we did end up with more roosters than pullets. Those unfortunate roosters ended up in my parents freezer. None of the pullets are laying yet, 5 months old and combs are bright red on the australorp. Biggest problem is they are too freindly. Try coming in the house and they follow us everywhere. Not scarred of dogs and they run up to you at first sight and demand hand feeding which is scary for a 4 year old child. If you see the size the rooster you'll understand.
  8. All my puppies that i had for sale have potential homes to go too although I'm still awaiting confirmation on the budda ruby girl which i'll follow up next week. One with the large white blaze is a boy and he is a real charactor and going to love his pet home with 3 kids to keep him amuzed. I love them all, but the blk/tan is very docile compared to her siblings and I'm glad she is staying on with us. My hubby who isn't a dog person has been found with blk/tan (Mystic) asleep in his hand, really bonded with her. Burnt sausage roll is what he refers to her as, the others are sausage rolls. Be interesting to see what personality she develops when she is a bit older and not such the runt in the litter. In all they are all doing really well gaining weight every day. We are going to have another go at mating our co-owned girl when she comes into season next time which should be end of July. Hopefully this time she won't do another phantom pregnancy. Blenheim over Blenheim mating, should result in Blenheim offspring (Tan /White). Otherwise we won't have any more puppies for some time.
  9. Holly crap Newfiesrus! In one way that was a lucky outcome as it could of been a lot worst. They are huge puppies, I'm not sure what the normal size for that breed is but ....wow !!! Heres hoping for a speedy recovery for mum and best of health for puppies. :D RIP little boy that didn't make it.
  10. Arr maybe they are a bit smaller then. Weights of mine are mostly over the kilo mark., except blk tan but she is getting there slowly. I did say they are fatty little pups. Feeding solids 3 times a day and loving it! Plus mum who is a walking milk truck.
  11. Love the last one, so peaceful. Gee wizz Team Snag they really are looking good. About the same size as my little munchens.
  12. Initially we had all vet bed. Then we tried half vet bed and half paper. At 3 weeks I found it too slippery but seem to be more stable now and are able to find there way around. Slip occasionally but they seem to managing well now. Messy little buggers though, replace newspaper after every feed and wash vet bed every second day.
  13. Fat would be the words i use! :D Nah they are delightful little puppies that are all just starting to adapt their own personalities. Play fighting has begun and all have found their feet and voices. Responding to our consent handing, my 4yr old just loves having cuddles with them.
  14. Cavaliers. Mine are in our Laundry which is in the centre of our house. They were born in the whelping box. Have a baby gate on the door. They are 4 weeks old and are still there today. Environment is warm, main heater on all day and pups have a heated mat for extra warmth.
  15. Sure has! PHOTO TIME. Should note that in certain photo's they a bit wet looking as they had just been eating lunch.
  16. So pleased to hear the safe arrivals of Junes thread latest additions.
  17. Puppies had their first taste of solids. Suprising enough the little blk/tan was the first to start and lapped it down.
  18. Congrat on the new babies Chocolate. Hope all is well. Hesapandabear thats great that you are retaining your entire litter. Wish we could, it's going to be very hard parting with our ruby pups. While doing the dishes last night i walked in on hubby nursing our wee little blk/tan miss. He calls her the burnt sausage roll, while her ruby siblings her refers to as sausage rolls. She cuddles up in his hand and went back to sleep. My husband isn't normally a doggy person so it was a moment to record, he has bonded with that particular pup and we won't be parting with her. ;)
  19. This is my first litter at home litter. I did allowing mating every day while the bitch was standing as per her previous owner recommendations but i think in future I would convert to 2-3 days tops. Just that my girl stood for 5 days and pups were hugely different in size. Taking a guess here, i feel that the littlest ones may have been concieved on those last days and unfortunately they were not strong enough to make the journey and parted us 24hrs after birth.
  20. Yes i found my biggest ruby girl biting her brother today, she has real additude that one! I personaly love the little barks they produce, they are so cute.
  21. Arh what the, came in to see how the whelping went last night for rajacadoo and your bitch still hasn't delivered. She must have decided a day litter is more appropiate ;)
  22. My girl ate breaky at 7.30am and delivered at 11am, however she did bring breakfast back up. Todays the day!
  23. Personally prefer to wash separately.
