I'm here, sitting here waiting for Craig to call me from Vet group with the results of the progesterone levels. She has vomitted, urinated every 5 minutes, panting heavy but i still haven't seen a contractions. I am walking around with a towel behind her every loo break, just incase. Sent kids off with a friend so I'm home alone.

Thanks everyone, After consulting with the vet over the phone we decided to take her in town for a consult. To me things aren't moving along as I have seen her with past litter. His words on first sight. "Bloody hell she is massive"! Her temp is exstremely low, good mucus discharge happening. These temp levels have been low for over 48hrs with no sign of contractions. At the moment puppies are moving, we have detected kicks and wiggles, they are still alive. We are concern about the progesterone levels so we have taken bloods and the result of that will be if she needs a C section or what our next course of action is to be. I have her home for now just to wait till the results come in. His thoughts going off her size approx 8 puppies, although she carring a good ratio of fat too so it's hard to estimate. Regardless she is going to be having more than the 4 predicted on the ultrasound back at 25 days.

At 11.2 kilos she simply can't get any bigger, she is going to pop! Another day and she will explode. She does have milk in all teats today, tiny bit of clear mucus this morning. No breaky, my goodness that is a first, not one to turn her nose up at fresh chicken breast. What can one do but wait, can't sleep as i have a 2yr old at home, the other child is at kinder till 2pm. Not that i could sleep, rather use to lack of sleep after raising two babies.

No puppies this morning, been up most of the night but i did manage to sneak in a few hours sleep. Temp is back to 37 this morning, not eating, nesting, rather restless so i see how we go today.

Another daytime litter would be nice! Give us 24hrs and i think i will have photos to show. Seriously not ideal weather for us dog breeders but at least she is inside and has the heater going. I dread my early morning toileting duties but one pregnant girl can't go all night, just too much pressure. Fingers, toes and whatever else you can for a problem free whelping.

Hi all, Lele has held out till now but it looks like tonite i may see some pups born. Nesting has begun and temp is now dropped lower into 36.9. Panting heavily and is completely off her food. Not moving from the whelping box content being in there. Today is Day 59 from first mating date. Pretty sure we got her spot on ovulation and we only mated over 2 days, two early mornings over Easter, her due date was the 25/06/2011 so technically 4 days early. Maybe able to reduce that to 3 days early if she goes in the wee hours of the morning.

Action station people, nesting and panting heavily.

Prydenjoy Congrats on your new additions. Two little girls, they will be treasured. Oakeydoak1- I sincerley hope you are not correct in you guess of number of puppies my dear Lele may whelp. Update - Last nite her temp went back up to 37.6 which is basically back within normal range for her. She still had a restless night sleep but we did manage to get a bit of rest. This morning she is 37.0. She still irequired to have a full breakfast of mince so i guess she doesn't feel unwell in anyway. As always, timing is a real issue. Kids have a important appointment to attend in town, and the baby sitter cancelled so I'm hoping for tonite, least then hubby will be home and everything for the rest of the week is free.

Nothing to report here, temp is the same and we aren't progressing much. Still enjoying her chicken dinners. Guessing we are dragging the process out as long as we can.
-
Well we might be having a early delivery here. Lele temp is dropping, panting heavily all night long and we have milk in the front teats.
-
We have drop temp a bit this morning and have milk in the front teats. Looks like i am in for a early litter.
-
Don't know how many but we will soon find out! :D Should we start to guess If there was a record for how many times one needs to go to the toilet I'm sure she would win. No changes in temp tonight so hoping for a few more days before the big arrival.
-
Mmm, we are 37.4 today. No nesting going on though but I'm keeping a eye on her.
-
Oh no, sorry to hear your news. I don't think we are going to make a full week, what do you think? Having trouble eating at the moment, very tiny meals.
-
That does sound promising, goodluck! Fordogs, nice little bungle of worms you have there, i mean German Shepherd puppies.
-
How exciting, good that you have someone around to help you. Doubt you will ever be relax about the first litter but you sound like you are all organsied and having your sister around will certainly be reassuring. I love your prefix, very clever name. ;) We also are having those lovely green gassy farts, clear the room type jobs. I have the whelping box set up in the bedroom but my girl is not due till 9-10 days, i think she may pop before then. Put on another 1/2 kilo this week. 10.5 kilos now for one tiny cavalier she is shuffling those legs like walking on stilts, dare i say her trips to the bathroom are no longer on the lawn but back padio, she is relucant to walk on the grass as her belly gets wet. All is well here, besides the odd loose bowel movement we are still holding it together. :D

Rebanne, At least with your girl her belly isn't rubbing along the floor.

My mum is visiting us this weekend, her words on first sight of Lele,...OMG...OMG, YOU POOR GIRL YOU ARE GOING TO EXPLODE.
-
Glad I'm not the only one. Lele is over it big time. Strangers she is a bit stand off with and she will bark and bark...not her usual self. Weighted her yesterday, 18 day till due date. 10 kilos Prior to mating she was 7.5kilos. Last litter 14 days prior to whelping she was 9.1 kilos. I'm tipping i have a rather full load on board.
-
Ok people I'm offically starting to get nervious. Felt some wiggles in the tummy this morning yay! ;) She is resting alot more and craving food like she is starving. Feeding reasonable size meals 3 - 4 times a day, refuses kibble so it's all fresh food. Big concern, Nipples are huge! Swallon bigger than last time and i can see myself handfeeding as new born puppies would struggle to latch on to these massive things. Weight before mating - 7.5 kilos. Weighed today, 10 kilos. 18 days to go which we all know they stack it on in the final weeks. Interesting looking back on records from last year to compare. Last year prior to mating 7.5kilos. 9.1 kilos taken 14 days to go and she whelped 6 puppies, 2 which unfortunately died 48hrs after birth (tiny pups). So in conclusion I'm either feeding her more, or she has bigger size puppies or there is more this time! Verdict wil soon be revealed on the 26th June or there abouts. Photo taken today-

I hope to keep a female if we are bless with a suitable one. Certainly post pics when they are born.

Howdy all, I've got family coming home for a visit which will be nice. Long weekend, be a good time just to chill out and enjoy each others company. Lele is still growing large however she has eased off a little with the weight development this week. Only a few weeks to go I'm set and ready for the big day. Whelping is always a nervious time but at least I'm well prepared.
-
Congrats on the safe arrival of your puppies. What a good range of colours and sexes. No exciting news to report here. Lele seems to be about the same weight as last week i haven't seen any dramatic inflation of the stomach region. Still detirmind to sleep on the sofa so I've built some stepping blocks for her. Boobies are a bit more enlarged this week, counting down the days.
-
Congrats on the safe arrival of your Poodles. She looks a very relaxed mum.

  You just want a bed to yourself. ;) ;) ;) Yeah,...you know me too well. Good luck for tonight, be thinking of you.
