I do agree with what you are saying, gone are the important factors, the picture image which is taking over. Every dog will have it's faults but in our breed being so highly populated the aim for colour perfection is becoming more demand. Because competition is huge, we wouldn't stand a chance in the ring with this form of mismarks and be highly frown upon if used in a breeding program. I was infomed these marks could follow through the linage and therefore that is why i have decided to let them go as pets. It is a learning curve, they say it takes years to master and they weren't wrong. I will eventually buy another cavalier but for now i am happy enjoying what i have.

After consulting with my fellow breeders regarding the markings on our two little female pups i have been advised to place both on limited rego. Out of the entire litter these two seem to have mismarks on mouths/muzzle area which is not good for showing or breeding prospects, they do have lovely colouring otherwise and will make great pets regardless of cosmetic faults. Of course with my luck these are the only two girls in the litter and i will now reside to the fact the gods are against me.

I wouldn't of mind the human company but the Lizard, mmm,....sorry not really my thing. Goodluck with yor whelping. Tegan is a local Koroit woman in her 30's, 3 kids + hubby. Son goes to kinder with my daughter. Building a simmons house i believe near or next to your brothers block. Thought your brother might want to know who is neighbors are going to be. He might find out soon enough as she has a large number of chooks including roosters. :D

Hello, You can always pop around and say hi since you were a stone throw away from my home! That new estate area has been selling well i beleive most of the front blocks are sold and they have pop the signs up the back blocks into that non-existing road now. He should be happy there except now is a crappy time to build very muddy. Tegan finnerty has also brought a block next to the old house subject to soil test, maybe they are neighbors. Pups are coming along really well. Little one is still tiny but she is gaining weight and very strong. I am keeping her so she can take her time growing up. The others i have couple of people who have express interest but no definate committments. So if they are keen by all means tell them to call or email me and they can come around and check tem out. 10 days old and their eyes are just starting to open today.

Eyes are starting to open, how exciting they will be off and running about in no time. I have names - Jorja, was the runner up choice of our baby names when i had my daughters. Revlon, because she has lipstick marks on both sides on her mouth. Nitro, yellow collar boy with the white line down his back Roary, white collar races for nipple every time Meeko, black collar boy Monty, Green collar (he is always exposing himself sleeping on his back) . New owners will most likely change those names. Now for pedigree names....that's the too hard basket.

I had numerous applications but they tend to drop off over time. Different story if they were ready to go, but it's been a long wait and with 2 months to go i expect more will drop off too. We had a more than enough applicants on our list to begin with and several others too since then but they are never sold till the money is exchanged. I still haven't named ours, going to start looking through books today and hubby is going to help take photos of them so i will keep you all posted. My 5yr old saids to ame the boys Roary, roary the racing car. I think i have the one pup that names suits as he is very fast at getting to the teats fo a feed.

Oh I am sorry to hear that, it's always the first 2 weeks that seems to be the test of survival. Hugs to you.

Thankyou, yes they are rather cute slugs. :D Daughter is at me to name them, I only hope that others share your opinion so that i can find suitable homes for them all. ;) People on my waiting list have cancelled, found pups elsewhere which you can't blame them it's been months/year of waiting. I would love to see one of the boys in a show home but regardless a happy stable home is most important. If i can't sell them i will just have to keep them all, :D

They will get cutier as time goes on. Good to see your id collars going to good use!

Good idea BB. We had a bit of a issue last night, mum wanted out to toilet so i went in and attended to the puppies and assumed hubby would let her outside. He pushed straight passed her and locked her inside and we had a lovely green running poo all over the cream carpet. The smell was bad enough but because of it's liquid form i had no choice but to scrub it out as it is in the kids play room, lol...yuck.. Puppies are 6-7 days old today so new photo. Baby blue is gaining about 10-15 grms a day were the others have just about doubled thier birth weights.
-
They are really cute, how do you come up with names for them all? Naming has always been difficult in this household and i think my lot will carry the names, blue, black, red, green, yellow and white, the same as their collars. lol. i like the name Puppy, most puppies resond to that. God help me come pedigree names, I'm a lost cause.

Congratulations Rebanne, those blue ones are rather dazzling aren't they, but the others are also beautiful. :D Poor Fern she does look rather exhausted, i imagion you are also. Amen to to sleeping in your own bed. ;) I am too, no more listening to Lele Snoring her head off all night. Still get up every few hours but more so due to the fact she ate too many pacentas and got the runs on. Our puppies are gaining loads of weight, fatso Red girl hit the 300grms marking today with her brothers following closely behind. And as for my baby girl well she is 194grms, birth weight was 166gms so she is gaining gradually but steadily.

I had Craig for Lele and the pups over the weekend and he was great. I would say since Craig pulled the Saturday morning shift that he may get Monday off.

Parti colors are 'Blenheim and Tri colours'. Colours are broken, they have the white background in there coat. Whole colours are solid ruby and black and tan. They are meant to have no white markings.

Morning, All pups are thriving. Gaining weight everyday, couple of boys seem to be exceptional feeders. Slugs would be a ideal word to describe them. It's been alot more enjoyable litter, compared to the last one where i struggled to get them to feed and mum was very restless. This litter she is relax and these pups are super strong and feeding themselves. Little Blenheim girl with the blue collar is the runt of the litter but she is strong, I'm keeping a eye on her but she is coming along well. I rather like her the most marking wise but until we get a overal picture on conformation i will leave my judgement. Yes I'm keeping a female, only 2 to choose from. ;) I did contact a few people which were on the waiting list but it appears their circumstances have changed for a couple and i will most likely need to find alternative homes for a few pups. Cross that bridge when the time comes. For now i am enjoying my little Blenheim babies. This litter was planned to be all blenheims. I have a whole coloured bitch pup owed to me sometime in the future to continue with. Mystic the black and tan pup from last year litter is being desex as she isn't suitable for showing/breeding purposes. I am retiring Lele who is my only parti coloured figured this was the best way to go, get another just like her. :D

I just wanted to say thankyou to Jan, 'Bilbo Baggins' for her reassuring advice and friendly input over the past 24hrs. Breeding dogs is never easy and exspecially when you are rather fresh off the block at it, every litter is different and no matter how much you read, watch or think you may know that more experienced person in your ear can certainly help, so again...THANKYOU JAN! Also wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes, Much appreciated, now lets get those whelping vibes going for Rebanne.

Grand total of 6. 4 boys, 2 girls.
-
-
Nope the six is certainly enough. 4 boys, 2 girls. Girls are a bit weak, trying nurtigel and making sure i can get them latched on, boys are like milk dozers. Think we have retained 2 placentas so i will be off to the vet today.
-
We have our first girl 240grms Oh and another, bit smaller 166grms Ok getting alot thinner in the waist line now, thinking 1 to go.
-
Another boy, gee wizz i really hope the next is a girl.
-
Another boy Weights are wrong sorry the scales aren't working correctly.Go figure when you need them too. Rough guide going of my tiny kitchen set they are about 200grms each. All of these are blenheim by the way.
-
Another boy 145 grms
-
1 boy so far, 165grm

Been taking her temp since Monday, 3 times a day. Normal temp for her is normal near 38. The range for the past two days has been 37.1, 36.8 37.2,36.7 and there abouts. This morning it is down lower when the vet took it but i appears that we do have some progress now, not sitting here looking pretty anymore. So there has been a gradual drop then a spike but think we have it down pat now.
