  2. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Blenheims..... 9th April. (yet to be confirmed)
  3. Hello, I don't poke my head in often but i thought i better check up on what's been happening and say hi. Answer your question Pandii, our TV reception is crap and I can feel your fustration !!! It flutters, WIn is a lost caused. My parents feel it's because we haven't tuned it correctly or the set top box isn't high definition. Time for a new TV i recond. Show trainning, love to come but weekends are my best time due to kidlets. Dog is trainned, just owner needs a few lessons to learn. I have friend who has offer to be a handler for Noorat for me so that is a huge help.
  4. Congrats on the 4 babies, good size, bummer about the mis-marked girl, but hopefully the boys have potential. Get some rest now and send those puppy vibes this way as we are about to mate our blenheim girl.
  5. I do Iridology on human patients as part of a herbal consultation but animals don't have the same kinds of iris and markings humans have - never heard of anyone practicing canine iridology in Australia either - where did you get your dog done at? Oh and it is also (more generally) pronounced Iri-dol-ogy in Australia .... Thanks for the heads up on the pronouncination. I saw a greyhound guy in Victoria who isn't qualified in this particular field but beleives he has self taught himself in dogs iridology. He has been practising for 20 years as a chiropractor/health consultant for greyhounds. He was well recieved by the greyhound community. Shall put his diagnoses to the test Monday!
  6. Just wondering if anyone has found iridology (pronounced eye-ri-dology) for dogs accurate? For those who don't know what it is, Iridology is to see our level of health through looking at eyes. I have had one of my dogs done and I'll be certainly following up on some blood tests to see if there is any thing meantioned from the screening that is correct.
  7. Definately need the trainning but for me i won't be able to make evenings classes. I have 2 infants under 3yrs old, one breastfeeding and bed time is around 7.30pm. Personally Sundays before 5pm are best for me. Any chance of a weekend sessions?
  8. So sorry Jan. Very upsetting for all involved.
  9. Puppy was purchased from a registered breeder in the Geelong area. Glad to announce i found a good home for him. Lovely retired lady who's cavie died from old age (14yrs) earlier in the week and she came and picked him up offering the owners the same what they paid for him. So everyone is happy. Thanks everyone for your support and efforts asking around. Jerjath Congrats on your new additions. Great litter !
  10. G'day, For Sale: Cavalier Male Blenheim puppy for sale, 12 weeks old. Limited papers, Vaccinated Microchipped. Brought from a registered breeder at 8 weeks of age but new owners have since been diagnosed with some nasty medical problems and need to rehome. :p Breeder refuse to take it back. :p Anyone interested pop me a PM. He is a lovely little chap.
  11. G'day W'bool DOLERS. Thought i'll pop in and say hi. Read that article in the paper, made me so angry! Not much happening here except our cat got hit by a car. Normally inside at night on Monday night she ran out at 1am while we were trying to suss out why the dogs were barking. Black moggy cat, just used up one of her nine lives. She has a rear busted leg, had surgery Tuesday and is recovering well.
  12. Yes, for donations. They didn't ask us for any money. They wanted our practical assistance. We lent them an 8 berth trailer to help get all the dogs down from Wondai to the shelter. I've donated 50 brand new collars to the shelter. They are going to need extra supplies to be able cope with such a large number of dogs. I'm guttered to see such shameful breeding program.
  13. I also would be getting her vet checked. Nutri drops or Nutrigel is used as a"pick me up" if thats any help.
  14. :D yea its pretty cute eh!! I think for them to be on the rspca calendar they have to have come from there. He has got such a cute little face. Its Miggys months on one of the DOL calendars, (little brag) I took the photo!! Jealous, wish i could take good photos :D . I seem to catch my dogs when they decide to move or embarrassing moments like toileting. Worlds worst photographer! Lovely photos tlc.
  15. Oh Happy 1st Birthday Bruno. It's a very special day, he is sharing his birthday with LELE. 2nd September, just got her pedigree back from VCA (transferring ownership) and it dawned on me she is now 4yrs old. Yey it's ya birthday.
  16. Thanks he was beautiful, personality, temperment and looks. Here are my girls. Cavalblaze the Blenheim looks lovely. Thanks. Blenheim is Lele. Black and tan is Velvet, not a overally great photo of her as she really is lovely too. My favourite colour in the breed is Black and tan followed by Tri. I also co-own a Blenheim, I don't meantion her as my own as she doesn't live with me and I'll be transferring her over next year. Belle is her name she lives with a family friend and is under my mentor. Oh and this is my mums tri and my brother has a Granny blenheim too which i dont have a photo of. We are a cavalier family, except my sister who has a Golden Retriever!
  17. Thanks he was beautiful, personality, temperment and looks. Here are my girls.
  18. Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate your input and sincerity. I sure has been a rough few years and I might take you up on that offer of advice frm time to time jerojath. I've got books and I'm in the club and in the cav thread on DOL. My mentor is some distance away so our commuication is limited to long distance phone calls and emails along with the occasional get together were possible. Yep tlc the cavalier in the signature is Bailey, RIP aged 5 years Leukemia took him.
  19. Jerojath that was a very good explaination relating to showing and breeding. As a newcomer myself its a real learning curve from long term pet owner to getting involved in breeding and showing, which is why in the past months i seeked a experienced mentor to guide me on the way. I've made some mistakes initially which was so emotionally draining not to meantion financially a huge outlay with nothing to show. By that purchasing 2 puppies that had great pedigrees but as they grew it was clear that they didn't meet the correct standard. Sometimes its not easy picking the right puppy at 8 weeks of age. All the other litter mates were successful in the ring but i just was unfortunate to be sold one that was hormonally a train wreck and had to be desex and the other just grew beond anyones expectations regardless to the fact both parents were small dogs. Both were desex and rehomed into wonderful family homes as pets while they were under 12 months. It certainly hasn't been easy to rehome such wonderful puppies but breeding is about improving the breed and if you are going to get involved you need to do it correctly. tlc love the snap shots.
  20. Howdy, Hamilton - mud pit, glad i wore my gumboots. Got to see a few friends and had a chin wag, cuddle with puppies. Weather held off till 11.30 and a light shower pondered above us so i went home. I've got a favor to ask, If anyone is heading to a heart or eye specalist in the next few months can they possibly fit two cavs in? :D I'm happy to take them myself but if we can save a trip it would be great!
  21. G'day Janet haven't heard from you in ages. Lele is 3yrs old and hasn't been shown. She was offered to me as a broad bitch and I greatfully accepted her with open arms. She has had 2 litters without any complications and is a terrific mother. I debated the idea of putting her in the ring for experience but she isn't happy about having her teeth looked at nor has she been taught to walk on the lead. She is a stunning little cavalier and just loves cuddles and being held. Puppy situation hasn't changed, Velvet papers have never come through. Bugger as she had real potential. tlc, It has never occurred to me that my dogs are the same age as the kids. And yes I'm flat out, but they all keep me busy and I love every minute of it. I don't show much, actually i've only had my dogs entered under a handler. I spectate and assist but overal i personally haven't stepped foot in the ring. Velvet was shown as a pup with papers pending VCA approval, she turned heads and placed well, but it all went pear shape due to stud contract dispute and it's been a real headache. I'm lefted with a lovely pet, but I don't have papers for her. Next year under the guideance of a mentor I plan to have a litter and keep a puppy to show. (fingers cross)
  22. Howdy, i don't mind the questions. Yep i'm into Cavaliers, I'm a new registered kennel, registered in 2007. I've owned cavs for many years prior. I've got 2 girls, a blenheim and a black and tan. 10 months and 3years, Lele is our newest addition we only got her a few weeks ago and we are seeing how she settles in so far so good. Don't work anymore, got two little kids 3yr old and a 10 month old. I did initially work at Westvic Employment in the New Apprentice Centre but only for 12 months, we moved here 4yrs ago from Horsham. Weather is wild and wet. And with that said I'm debating going tomorrow to the event in Hamilton as it's going to be a mud pool. See what the morning brings, hopefully sunshine. And that poor puppy on the front page on the Standard, my godness it broke my heart to think someone would scoop so low.
  23. Hi South West Victorians, I'm in Koroit, 20 mins from Warrnambool. Sorry for the delayed reply i don't venture outside the cav thread very offen. Good luck in Hamilton, I hope to spectate on the Sunday.
  24. A lady who i am associated with has both breeds and I agree with Gretels comments. They keen to be more devoted to one person, a little more resevered in their nature. A cavalier will go to all lenghts to please a owner where a Charlies seem to be a little more challenging to get their attention sometimes. However both breeds make lovely pets.
  25. Thankyou for your advice. Yes I beleive you have pin pointed my mistake of letting him have such a large area. With pups I have them in a pen and it's so easy, but this guy he is way to big for the pen and I could put up some child gates or something simple and confined him so he isn't weeing everywhere and it's easier to clean up. We also have a pupy crate, he might be a bit big for it though. Why didn't I think of that!!!!! .....Pregnancy brain!!!!!! :p
