The area looks dry now and the underlying skin much healthier. Poor boy hope he has improved again today

Not to mention they can go to a show and see many DObes to get a really good idea of how big they are, then meet the dad and the mum a little down the track. I remember going to my Dobes breeders, they allowed me to look at the babies from the doorway of the spare room at 5 weeks of age when mum was out on a toilet run and the babies were inside slepping after their play time outside. They didn't offer for me to touch them, I didn't ask and I was getting one of them! I did get growled at by one of the babies who then immediately starting sooking and wanting to be picked up when she heard the breeders voice. I got her flown down at 8 weeks and she was a fantastic little girl :)

My phone is my alarm so I get phone calls starting early generally, the odd pate night email or text :) This morning was for a dog hit by a car on our road so I didn't mind that one - poor doggy

I would not bet letting people see my babies that young. I know of breeders who have lost whole litters after someone came to look at 5 week old pups, said they hadn't been to any other breeders places that day - they lied end result all puppies dead from PArvo. Also I dare anyone to go into a room with a Dobe bitch and her two tweek old babies and try to put their hand in, touch them ro anything - thats if they get into the room in the first place. When they were older she would probably hand you one as you walk out the door. Yes it is nice to get all mushy over new babies but it is not in the new babies or mums best interestes to be upset when theya re that young.

Hows the lad today? You can get local anaesthetic sprays from the chemist, maybe that may help him no need to touch the area?? It isn't stingy from what I ahve heard as people use it on sunburn etc

If the repair done relied on the suture then you would eb able to feel by manipulation, however if as in Kenz's case it was to support her soft tissue I woudl assume the only way they will know if it is casuing an issue is to go back in. I am thinking becasue the painkillers have helped she must be experiencing some pain, but there must be some sort of mechanical issue as well which causes her issues. The unfortunate thing is you have to spend the money, put her through surgery and rehab to know IF the suture has casued a mechanical issue or not. If it isn't the poor girl has gone through it all again for no real gain, if so then you should have a sound dog after all the rehab etc.

Oh that poor poor boy
-
Poor lad he has enough to deal iwth. I would be totally pissed off as well, it is just not good enough. The scrotum seems to be causing him more pain than the surgery site. A pain he didn't and doesn't need to have - I would expect them to pay his bill today as well.
-
I do wonder why on earth his testicles would need to be shaved for any surgery other than something like a castration??? I understand you need a surgical prep site but I think that is being over zealous. Poor lad

Very well done :) You must be so proud of them both :)

I haven't noticed changes and have been feeding BH for a while now and also feed it in the kennels. I got it when the packaging was the plain white bag and now in the new packaging. There was one batch where there were some odd bikkies in there but I haven't seen that happen for quite some time and I go through quite a few bags The dogs all have great coats, great muscle tone and are fit and full of life. Horses for courses I guess. The cats eat the cat food and the two I got fairly recently as adults have improved heaps from when I got them

Rommi is because her rego'd name was Lil Sea Urchin and Romi means sea mist in welsh. I wanted to pronounce it Rommi so added the extra m so it was more likely to be spelt correctly, no such luck and I often think I should have just spelt it Romi and pronounced it Rommi :) Lewis came with his name, but when he was a pup my friend had a short list of four and asked for votes, I voted for Lewis so I can't complain about that can I - suits him perfectly :) Goose - he went thorugh a few names but well teh dog is a bloody Goose so it stuck. As he is a pup he also gets called The Gosling and Loosey Goosey. Then we have cats Harrison Barney - this is what happens when dad and kids name creatures Merlin and Arthur came with their names also but I like them. Merlins rego's name is Merlin, Arthurs is Quinn which I also like. Pet Sheep is Baart Morris Anthony James - Baart Morris is what we came up with a friend added the nest two :) We also have Zac (Anzac) the Alpaca who was born on Anzac day, and Matilda his friend who had to have an Aussie name to go with Anzac

Death Of Dog After Westminister Leaves Handler Suspicious

Yep I agree -
yep a local anaesthetic spray would be good as he is on AB's etc already.
-
wow just wow. Loved reading this, crying like a baby and was nodding in agreence all the way through. RIP Woolie, how loved you were
-
Oh owww poor love. I would use a cream with local anaesthetic, one for bites etc on people would work, and an antiinflammatory if possible, Witchhazel stings like buggery. Rommi had clipper rash on pretty much her whole leg after her TPLO surgery but her skin is very very fine so it didn't suprise me.

I have t seen all his trial video as the phone signal is dicey at the moment, yes he was distracted but he was much better than many I have seen at their first trial. I have also found it always feels worse that it looks to someone else's eyes. I think we often heap lots of expectations on ourselves and therefore create even more pressure on ourselves. One thing I did notice was you were walking quite slowly with him. He has nice long legs, try walking much faster, it is easier for them to dawdle along when they do t have to take notice of what you are doing. If you speed up a bit you will become more interesting and it will get him moving and lifting his front. The ideal would be for him to be trotting, not walking or pacing. He is very handsome :) -

I once got handed a rather strong vodka prior to going in the ring at a Royal for our last pass for our title. Not sure my lines were really straight but I was rather relaxed!! We did pass ;) He looks like he needs lots of razzing and playing and trying to get some bounce back. Use whatever turns him on for his treats, food, ball, toy, tug, play with you etc. sometimes the hardest bit is finding what they love, or creating an addiction. -

I have known of people not want autopsy's due their own beliefs or can't handle the idea, maybe that has something to do with it????? I would have thought in this case though it would want to be know- if possible- the exact cause -
Yes Diva, exactly what I was thinking but put much more eloquently :)

Yep having acerage helps, open the door and off they go into their 5 acre dog park

Petplan Exclusions Reviewed...
OSoSwift replied to Sail_Away's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You can choose to have excess plus a percentage or just the excess. I am with Petplan and have had no issues with them :) -
Yes the costs can be rather large for multiple dogs. I went to a weekend of shows/trials and the entry fees were $150 with the added costs of living nearly 500kms away from the venue - not to mention after showing 2 in two shows, trialling two in obedience, then two in double jumpers and agility trials I was knackered!!
