If my husband or partner told me it me or the dogs, well it would be the dogs as a person who cares about you shouldn't try to force a choice. I love my animals with all my heart and I love my family with all my heart but they are different. I had my special cat who dies very suddenly many years ago. I wondered if I would eve find another cat that came close. Many years on, I have in the most unexpected of places and kind of when I wasn't looking :) There is no choice for me. they are both loved very much. My husband does say I care about the animals more than him, I just tell him you can feed yourself and open the door, they can't!

Definately vet. When it is made up it doesn't causue serious issues but can cause local irritation, allergic reactions etc. My mum ended up with a cat that went blind in both eyes after it walked through some longer weeds that had been very recently sprayed with roundup. Definately get him checked

Oh for gods sakes get over yourselves. A dog died, it shouldn't have. Some idiot had their dog agressive dog off lead where they shouldn't have, then bolted. This is about a family who witnessed something they should never had to have seen - ever. Now stop the stupid bickering!

Best Prices For Advocate And Revolution?
OSoSwift replied to julesluvscavs's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use paws for life and if you set it up to get it shipped automatically you save again. They do charge freight but it is minimal, customer service is brilliant and I like that I don't have to remember to re-order. I get am email to say it will be shipped in a week and to I need to add anything, then another with tracking details when sent. Once when I ordered something that was found to be on back order I had a phone call the same day. -
I don't remember it Liz and if it is brought up twice in a month who cares, don't comment on it.

awww they are just divine, I want to smooch them and smell their puppy breath

yes client confidentiality applies to animals, any conditions they may have or any treatment they are recieving. If information is supplied it would have to be done with owners permission or in such a way as not to identify the dog/animal

My dogs often come with me in the car. If it is hot and I have to take them say for a short vet visit I ask to leave them there for an hour or two. If it is mild they stay int eh car, passed out asleep on the seat. Many years ago my dog locked me out of the car, I always leave the window down enough to reach in or take the keys and lock it.

Simi is a Dobe? If so 6 to 10 is pretty average with up to 14 or 15 not unheard of :)

Many farmers use 44 gallon drums, if the dogs are lucky they may get a piece of carpet. $$'s are being fazed out in a lot of fuel oil areas and are getting increasingly hard to get. Many farmers are now buying the plastic injection moulded kennels areound here.

Mum had a cat called Sebastian. He went and got desexed and my brother called him dooverless, which stuck and he was called that forever more. My brother always said we he's got no doovers- he thinks he is very funny , sigh :)

Vibrating Collar Or E-collar For Deaf Dog
OSoSwift replied to superminty's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Does she have aquired deafness or been deaf since birth? There is a big difference between the two. A friend has a deaf dog, she manages well with an older dog who she takes cues from and hand signals/facial expressions. She has her CCD, AD and JD and recently got a pass with a reasonable distance challenge in JDO. It hasn't been easy and quite often it takes a few minds nutting things out to get it to work. They have considered getting a vibration collar for times such as when she is off lead at the beach. At this point she is coping well and checks in often so they do not see a need for it as yet. If I was training a congentially deaf dog I would definitely try the vibration collar as a marker but not a cue - once the dog is used to it and has been conditioned that it means good stuff of course. I have no experience using a stim collar so can't comment on that one -
He gets The Loosa Goosa, The Gosling, Goosey Gander and GOOSE if he is being naughty!
-
Yep he definately is. I know of a 7 or 8 month old male that was recovering for a nasty knee injury - he was pretty much on three legs - and managed to sire a litter of 6 from one mating!!!
-
We have Goose, not sure if that is considered unusual??
-
Yep sounds normal. The retained teste can be anywhere between the kidney and the scrotum. If it is just infront no biggy, but if not they have to go into the abdomen to find and then remove it.
-
I used to but not anymore. I can source them for you if you need. If you could get me a price please it would be much appreciated, sorry about the OT
-
I scale my dogs teeth if and when they need it - which is rarely - with a hand scaler. None of my dogs ahve ever required a GA and scale polish. One did get them done once when he had to get a tooth removed. OT Sway but do you sell sterile Staple guns?

I took it as a venting of frustration - which we all do at one point or other. I have no issue with people asking for a price of a puppy and I will advertise the price or any puppies I breed. If people try to haggle the price they may find themselves slipping down/off my list rather quickly. I do remember getting rather pissed off when I was selling the one and only puppy my Dobe bitch produced. I drove the puppy 750kms to Perth, to the persons home so I could meet her and see where she would be living. The lady was told many times if you decide you do not want to take the puppy then I don't mind I will drive her home (1500km round trip) She had a disqualifying fault and was for sale on the limited register for $500 - at the time the going rate, the person way fully aware of this fact and had been sent photos showing her the fault. When we did the paperwork etc she then asked me if I would consider asking me if I would give her to the person for $400. I said no. She has cost me more than $500 to get her to 8 weeks then I have also driven 1500kms to deliver her. Apparently someone from the Dobe Club - not sure if that is true or whatever, told her she should ask for a discount as she had a diqualifying fault - it was a neck whorl so nothing to do with soundness etc. I would have thought bringing that up before I made the trip to Perth would have been better, rather until waiting until I was sitting in her loungeroom!!!! I think she was hoping I would say yes once I was about to hand the dog over, no such luck!!

And a very gorgeous face at that :) Glad he is feeling better :)
