  1. Woohoo fingers and paws crossed for you guys :)
  2. I have owned Bull breeds and Dobes and Rottis. Now I own WHippets. Any dog that runs at mine worries me, but the more powerful larger dogs are the ones that really worry me. One decent bite and they are dead. So if I see a dog that resembles a bull breed/large breed I am on high alert. IF I see a smaller breed for sure I am on alert, but not he oh shit type of alert. My Stafford got in a couple fo fights in his life, none started by him, twice the other dog harassed him he tried to remove himself, then he went snap, in around 5 seconds he had the dog by the throat and within a few more it was turning purple. I am under no illusions that they would not have died had Myself or my husband not been around to cut his air off and remove him. It was not his fault but the point is when he reacted it was deadly. My Dobes had a fight with each other one day, lasted a few mintues as I was little way away and it took me a little time to get back. Many bite marks, reasonable amount of blood no vital organ or blood vessel injuries, no sutures required. My Whippets had a bingle one day, two tooth holes no vet trip, no worries. I know which breed I would prefer to have to defend my dogs against. Bleat on all you like about how wonderful bull breeds are, they are, they are fantastic dogs and I love them, however I am not so blinded that I cannot see the fact that IF they do have an altercation the consequences can be devastating. So yes there are many fantastic owners and many fantastic dogs that are of the various Bull breeds. That does not stop me being very protective of my dogs who can die from one bite. Unfortunately they attract dead beats quite often and that is where the problem lies.
  3. If they had any idea just how prepared you are to alter your life to best suit your dog they would be flocking to you!
  4. I have also shared, Hope you find her or get the phone call very soon. Go to a house Rosie!
  5. I feed it to my cats at this stage but have read up about feeding it to the dogs as well so am happy to help where possible :)
  6. Rommi's 5 week belly photo - she is not being particularly co-operative in the photo taking department I have to say!
  7. Try www.whelpingsupplies.com.au Not sure if they still have them but I am sure they did in the past
  8. Yep it is a mix that when added to meat is a complete food. The veggies are already in there along with other things.
  9. I haven't as yet, but it is on my list to adress in the near future. I don't want to use worms so am looking at a composter instead.
  10. My girl is only 10.6 kgs and after 4 conservative attempts she went lame and after 2 weeks I thought yay getting better, then she was suddenly on three legs after standing up and never got any better. She was the smallest dog the vet had done a TPLO on, we had some issues but Bowen Therapy has been a god send and now she is very sound and on nothing - she cannot has NSAIDs - and rarely even looks uneven. I no longer have to curb what she does for fear of reinjury.
  11. I am very pleased to update that Rommi was ultrasounded yesterday and is carrying puppies. They said they could see three, but considering she got a little pot from around 4 weeks I am thinking there may be more than three. Anyway it has been - I think - around Three years or slightly under from when Lewis first got his implant until now for this to happen. On her last season 7 months ago we got him tested and he had low fertility, that and other factors meant I waited until this season to do the mating. So now we are expecting at least 3 babies :)
  12. how frightening. I hope he leaves you alone now. OMG a LITTLE violent???? You guys hadn't been seeing each other very long, if he does that that soon into a realtionship what the hell is he prepared to down the track???? Thank goodness you got away this early. ANd I do now hope he leaves you alone and I really hope he realises exactly what he did - although experience tells me he won't. There is no need for you to feel embaressed how on earth were you to know until he did that? bloddy arse!!! OOOhh I am cross now. Having said that I am very glad youa re safe and you have your lovely little girl to cuddle.
  13. How very disappointing the kennels were so lax with their observations, they should have seen and noticed it, called you and discussed it with you. A nice calm greyhound may work quite well. So sorry to hear about the boyfriend, I am glad you found out now and I really hope you were not injured or abused by him
  14. I did multiple times but eventually had to have surgery. She goes pretty hard though
  15. HOw do you think they may stand up to very determined diggers?
  16. Confirmed today by ultrasound, we are having babies :)
  17. Ultrasound tomorrow.....................
  18. I would go pavers or concrete. My dogs runs are concrete and have an attached yard that is grass - My pride and joy I attend with much love :) The Whippets are great in there and love it, then young BC pup weeeelllll lets just say he isn't allowed in the grass yard due to a mass torndao destruction! He has his own run with lots of things in it he can shred and a concrete floor :) :)
  19. Would it be okay if I put a link to this survey on my FB page - lots of multipet owners on my FB friends list :)
  20. Hahaha why wouldn't we???? She is deadset gorgeous :)
  21. My vet charges around $240 the last time I asked them. They already have an account with Vetpath and I am in WA. Basically they don't want to do it
