True DD, but they have been fined and are answerable for what happened. Having worked in vet hospitals getting handed a deceased pet can be extremely traumatic any way it is done. These people sounded extremely dependant on their dog and do not seem to be handling the pets death as a majority of owners would most likely handle it. So for them it may have been too much. Personally I don't like to think of my pets being cremated, however I am lucky I have the land to be able to make the choice to bury them at home.

Akc And Vvma Express Outrage At Peta Approach To Euthanasia In Animal
OSoSwift replied to Crisovar's topic in In The News
That organisation are mostly nuts!! and yes I agrre with the above. That is just an insane euthanasia percentage!!! -
BUmmer about the heart, but I guees you need to know and have it thoroughly checked but hmmmmm not good news. The rest sounded good though apart from the Kelpie classes :) Rommi is still in one piece and sleeping on her back, feet in the air and snoring!! - Very classy my girl :)

An awful situation but I also get confused when people sue as they still will be traumatised and their dog will still be gone. People have had goes at me because I won't run dogs together that are not from the same family- even if they are and the owner wants them runseperately they are. I am often there by myself and I know if two dogs got in a fight I would have buckleys of getting them apart. I couldn't think of anything worse than that phonecall

Actually spaying/neutering slows down the metabolism and reduces energy needs by about 10-20% (from memory, don't quote me on this) due to no hormonal activity. To prevent weight gain I'd slightly reduce her food intake and see if she stays the same or loses any weight -- if weight loss occurs, bring her portions back up a bit. I have heard that before but after having two bitches speyed as adults adn not needing to reduce calories I wondered if it was a wives tale :) Basically if they are fat feed them less, if they are skinny feed them more :) (also to a point if you are feeding them nothing and they are fat get a thyroid test )

HOw do I go about finding Iphone Macro Perse?
-
Nope don't believe you :)

THe only alteration to temperment I have seen is it made my bitch who could be a total hormonal cow into an even the same every day of the year bitch. When she was entire she was lovely then the devils spawn, then a total harlot, followed by the devils spawn, then sooky couldn't look at her or she looked like she had been beaten to have her phantom babies and the devil's spawn again before going back to nice dog. Speying meant she was noce dog all the time and we all breathed a sigh of relief, especially our poor little Stafford who had unwittingly got to close to her at times when she was channeling the devil and found himself under attack for no reason. I agree with HD many people blame speying for a bitch becoming overweight, but as HD said they require - from memory - around 60% more calories while growing than they do once the are fully mature adults. That of course depends on exactly what they do once they are adults :)

Collars For Dogs With Lots Of Neck Skin?

I have seen thin plaited roo cord tag collars, but not sure where they were purchased originally -

Do people really let their kids behave like that???
-
If mine did that I would lock them in the crates!!!!! If I was visiting I might bring them - under tight control, but if I was showing for the day I wouldn't as I would expect them to be very annoying :) I would leave them home with dad :)
-
Oh so mine would be fine to come along then
-
I agree I think it is best to go to your first show at least, dogless. Shows can be really full on, especially if they are inside and the noise can freak out even the cruisiest of dogs.

They go off don't they, someone had their pointy little nose shoved out the side of Rommi's tummy last night, was some kind of party in there I think. I should have video'd it. Her tummy was bouncing all over the place :) I ahve been listening with my stethoscope as well, little hearts are very cute :)

What Was Your Latest New Purchase For Your Doggy?
OSoSwift replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Um vet bed, one is a really cool black and white cowhide pattern :) -
Agreed, I would be trying to find some people that will give you their honest opinion about him. They may have different things that they pick up that they like or don't, no biggy but listen. Take what they say on board, get as many opinions as you can from people who know. If you can get some of his progeny looked at as well. If there is a weakness or strength a person comments on ask why they think it is a weakenss or strength. Be prepared to not like what you hear. Get him a profile on DOL and if he has the bloodlines and conformation people want they will contact you. Titles do not make a better dog however the time and effort taken to gain those titles put him out there and into the public eye where people may like what they see and wish to use what he has.

Down to single figures, due in 7 days!

I have three, got down to one once and didn't like that at all, now back up to three. Two are mine and I do everything with/for them, one is my husbands working dog so I do stuff with/for him but he mainly goes with OH around the farm, working sheep etc. He is tapped, I couldn't have more than one of him. The whippets I could easily add another :)
