Yep a potentially very serious issue that needs to be addressed now.

desexing does not cure training issues! Go with your breeder and leave it until 9 months.

Advice About Becoming A Registered Breeder?
OSoSwift replied to haylz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Showing isn't everything, but it is a good start. There are some exceptional dogs never shown, but as an aspiring breeder I think getting involved in something such as showing is very important, there is so much to be learnt. I agree, I would love to show mine more but due to a new and growing business and being 750kms from city shows I can't get there much - working 7 days a week kinda put a stop to that, but I have dogs that have competed and titled in dog sport arenas. I want my dogs to look good and have the brains to do lots of things. I just wished I lived closer as I know mine would have more titles by now and it frustrates me :) I am not sure a BB could do too much in the dog sporting arenas but hey why not try it and see :) No reason why a BB couldn't get a Rally-O title or two :) -
They are gorgeous, Love the little girl compared to her boofy brothers :) Mine have the beginnings of peepers but not quite open as yet, maybe tomorrow :)

Unless their were threats privately there where no threats put on the FB page. If anyone threatened her they are scum. I don't know why they didn't sell a puppy and donate the money from that puppy to her cause. Raffling a puppy is just disgraceful and scummy, dyeing dogs adn selling them is just scummy as well.

There are blue and tan Kelpies around here from working breeders, also some solid Blues

Teebs your dog will cope in the intrem. I was lucky int he fact when I had my first child they were getting ona nd happy to lay around, and spent a lot of time outside anyway. I got my first Whippet when I had a 2 yo and a 5 mo BUT I only got that puppy after figuring out that my 5 mo was very laid back, easy going and sleeping all night - so much easier to cope when you get sleep! And the puppy was easy going and laid back also. If you can try maybe leaving bub with your partner and taking the dog for a walk just up the street and back if that is all the time you have, 5 minutes here and there - even that time to be away from bub and not have to worry for just a few minutes helps. It will get to a point you can walk with both, maybe take your dog with pram and go up the street, back, drop the dog in and continue on your walk. Lots of little trips will help work into bigger ones. I would also employ baby gates and a kid pen - for the dog or kid whichever you decided to put in there, I used mine for the puppy as I was toilet training had a bub and a puppy so when I couldn't watch puppy she went in there it was easy to get to, kids couldn't get inot her stuff and it meant she could have time out from them. Just breathe and stop stressing about it so much, it is differnt but she will cope, just do little bits as you can, but make a goal, once a week I am going to take her for a 10 minute walk, then work up.

As for Pred yes it can be bad but I had a dog on it for 5 years, he died eventually at 15 from reasons not connected to Pred, but had a good quality 5 years he may not have had otherwise. I would definately go the correct 6 week emilination diet. Done well it is a wealth of information, yes it takes time and dedication but so worth it. I know of someone who did an elimination diet with her cat. After about 10 weeks the cat had a huge flair up, ended up after much tooing and froing, the cat wasn't allergic to any of the proteins, he had an issue with the gravy she made to put on his meat as she thought eating cubed cooked whatever with whatever carb was too boring for him ( and she had used it when making up food for him previously). Stopped the gravy mix and the cat was fine.

Woman Attacked By Pack Of Up To 15 Stray Dogs In Us
OSoSwift replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in In The News
Geez with injures like that I think I would kind of hope I didn't wake up. That poor woman to be concious the entire time, how horrendous. And if a PIttie cross was involved it was!! Honestly, no-one made the dog be part of the attack, yes they should have reported what they thought the other 14 dogs were, but really, it is obviously a decent sized crossed bull breed dog. In that neck of the woods chances are, it is actually a Pitty cross. -
Awwww gorgeous peepers :)

RV - we need a photo of peepers :) We are starting to have peepers checks as their little eyes look like they could start to open any day :)

Great to hear your have your babies, so sorry about the ones who didn't make it, and I hope you get some sleep very soon.

My young foal chased my poor pet sheep and in the process snapped off his horn, I looked out the window to see him pick the sheep up and throw him then run up to him, jump on him and paw him to try and get him to run. I raced outside with a broom, and raced into the paddock, the young colt decided he really wanted the sheep to run and went to go in again and wore a broom for his trouble - he was an overly confident bolshey young colt. I had to drag my 90kg exhausted pet sheep under an electric wire and out the gate where we both flopped on the ground trying to recover. Even though the colt was "only playing" he would have and did come very close to killing Groover . Fingers crossed you ahve no more incidents

Locally we had a cow who had had her ears cut off for some sick reason. Not sure they ever found the revolting human that did it. I would suspect a wild dog, have a good look around the area she may have some bite marks hidden in her wool, I would also consider an injection of long acting antibiotic just incase. If she caught the ear on wire I would imagine a tear trhough or around the ear but not the ear taken off in what sounds like a fairly clean manner. I would hope a human hasn't done it but to be honest it is potentially possible, although unlikely in this case.

I get offered things, we have an intelligent discussion as to the benefits or not of doing said things, then I say yes or no. They are not upselling but offering me different things ie do I want to go in all guns blazing and do everything or do one or two things and monitor from there? I quite often do one thing and then go the next step if and when required. If they say they really need to do "X" then I do it as they don't push anything on me unless they think it really is necessary. HOwever I do like the fact they give me every option and the why's or why when can leave it so I can choose how far I wish to go or not go.

Yes a much more sensible idea than a ninja groom!   Ninja groom

I very recently called my vet at 5.30am on a Sunday, which didn't result in a visit, then he called back twice just to keep a check on things. I then called in the afternoon which did result in a visit which was charged out at a lower price as the puppy was born 5 minutes after arriving and he didn't have to do much ( even though I was fully prepared for the after hours consult fee they were well and truly entitled to charge me) I only have one vet hospital I can visit but I am happy with their fees in general but there are a few things they do charge a very high fee for with little justification such as triennial vacc's and titre tests

OOhhhh nice one :)

I didn't start this thread to get any colour bashing, I want statistics. A good Lab is a good Lab regardless of colour.

Mine is an Ozito with the extension that I got from Bunnings - works brilliantly and cheaper :)
-
Unfortunately I have seen quite a few like this over the years. Mine generally get done every couple of weeks. The babies get theirs done starting tomorrow :)
-
I ordered a black and white parti from Rommi :) I told her to dig deep into her DNA but alas :)) They are stunning. IS there somewhere to get stats from other breeds as well?
