  1. Thank you, it has been passed on and my friend is following it up :)
  2. Dobe size is average to me, My Whippets are small, a great Dane is big :) little tweenies are tweenie :)
  3. I think Rommi might try to eat them, she copes with boys but is a bitch with other bitches!
  4. In my litter I had a puppy born with a large amount of its hard palate missing, it had died some time before. Had the puppy been born alive I would have euthed it. Yes I could have tube fed, yes I could ahve done lots of stuff, but why would I???? to have a puppy suffer through lots of reconstructive surgery, for what gain? It may not have been repairable???? When a puppy is born with such a severe deformity that it needs both hind legs removed, yes I would euth at birth. You have no way of knowing if that pup will have any quality of life and it has to go through bilateral amputations. They are no walk in the park for a dog with three remaining legs I can tell you from experience. Dogs like this are kept alive and paraded around for the person who has "saved them" to preen their ego and get them attention. It is not about the dog.
  5. A friend needs to get her dog DNA profiled. He was done as a baby but apparently needs to be done again. Could I have recommendations for a lab that is easy to deal with and has a reasonable turn around time please.
  6. It honestly surprised me once I really started looking into boarding kennels, just how many run dogs that don't know each other together. I haven't had reason to board my dogs much in the past, but on the rare occasion I have it was not something that entered my mind. I would be totally pissed off if my dogs were run with other unknown dogs. From my research more do run then yogether than don't!!!! Very worrying. And yes at least people will once again be able to see not to go to this place. Is it likely Troy would get in trouble if all that has been said is a persons personal experience that is true?????? Surely it's only slander if it is unfounded and untrue?
  7. Part of the issue is not that they dare venture, as many cats do with dogs they shouldn't. However Greyhounds are faster than your average dog, I would be very upset if my dogs killed a cat regardless of it it was in their yard or not. Also the potential for injury is high up there. Especially when you are talking sighthound speed and prey drive. One of Mads dogs has been severely injured before after running into something while loose in a yard. The potential for that to happen if there was a cat streaking across the yard would be very very high. If a Grey was right on a cats tail as they went over a fence chances are they would be commited to the chase without thought for barriers or boundries and a broken neck not outside the realm of possibility. I fully understand why Mads dogs are confined and it would annoy the crap out of me as well.
  8. I would worry about puppy "strangles" I would get her checked just to be sure. Might just be puppy pimples but best to be sure
  9. She is gorgeous, so shiney and like an ornament and perfect. And honestly if people are that easily offended and complained that loudlya bout a dead bird, it isn't like you let or encouraged her to stalk and slay said bird then play with it. It was dead already for goodness sakes!!!!!!
  10. Yep that sounds like it may well be. Lewis's were quite small and soft, firmed up and got a little bit bigger, then his behaviour was more entire dog like, then it may have even been a couple more months and suddenly they were back to full size ( he had some chaffing issues for a little bit) and it was all back to normal. Fingers crossed he is okay and the medical issue has resolved!
  11. I do not have an issue with cats, I own and adore them. What I do do is take responsibilty for what happens with my cats and take steps to try and negate anything nasty happening. As I said before, if the dog was off lead and injured the cat then they should be dealt with accordingly. If that cat was off it's property well the cat owner has no comeback. If that cat was on it's property but in an open yard then I still think that cat owner needs to take some reponsibilty for the predicament the cat ended up in. Around here if my cat is outside and gets bitten by a snake then I have to take responsibilty for that, if it gets attacked by a feral cat, hit by a car etc etc etc, then yep my responsibilty. I do what I can to reduce those potential outcomes, confining cats, cat run etc etc etc. So one again I feel very very sorry for the cat, I feel sorry for the owner as seeing your cat like that would be terrible. However the blame does not lay solely on the dog.
  12. If you want to breed from her I would not be giving anything, especially hormonal products, to a bitch.
  13. Of course I have no idea if the cat was one foot inside its boundary or not, and if you read my post I never said I knew if it was or not and how could I? What I said was if the cat was safely contained ie cannot get out, fenced yard, cat run, house it wouldn't be an issue. Which it wouldn't. Cats may be allowed on an unfenced front lawn, but do that and as far as their safety goes your dancing with the devil. I think too much of my cats to allow them to be put in a situation that could see them injured or killed. The dog may have been off lead, if it was it should be treated accordingly. No mention was made of that either but it of course goes without saying. So my comment still stands I am very sorry the cat was injured, however I hope the owner now confines the cat effectively as then there will not be another chance it could be injured in the same way
  14. Whilst the person who's dog attacked the cat should have done the right thing and check if the cat was okay etc, maybe the owner of the cat will now think about keeping her cat inside. Allowing them to roam is asking for trouble.
  15. I think just because they have a young family does not automatically qualify them as unsuitable for a working or active dog. Exactly!
  16. Yep I know they don't all glow. Righto I will get myself one. Thank you all for your help :)
  17. Those will work for ringworm, excellent I wasn't sure if they would or not. Thanks
  18. Thank you I will go looking :)
  19. I am after a blacklight for detecting ringworm. Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase one please
  20. When I sold my puppies I signed up as a breeder and registered each puppy for the free cover. It had to be done when the puppy was picked up, not before or after. If your breeder is signed up she can get them the free cover otherwise you can register them the day you pick them up.
  21. Oh I didn't add, good on you for being proactive about your dog, :)
  22. To me it sounds like she barks a lot. I may be wrong though. Barking occasionally at something then being quiet wouldn't bother me, but barking very regularly and often would.
