Sorry I call bullshit! My children fully understand the circle of life. They fully understand responsibilities of owning, caring for and treating animals well. If our animals die or need to be euthanased they are told that is what will heppen and why. They do not need to be at a public spectacul to learn the value of an animal or the circle of life. If one day they wish to be present at one of our pets euthanasia's or one of our livestocks deaths then they will eb abllowed to be but I will fully take them thorugh what will happen as I don't really need to deal with nigthmares. Interestingly I breed beef cattle and fat lambs. I know exactly how my animals are treated and I have no issue at all with eating my meat I produce. They are not locked up anywhere, they graze paddocks all day every day with shelter and an abundence of water, company and feed. I wouldn't write death threats to anyone, that is just stupid. As I have said. I do not believe he should have been bred in the first place, however he was. If they ahve space issues and he needs to be euthed I have no issue with that it was done in as humane way possible. I do not have an issue with him being fed to carnivores in large chunks with his distinguishable hide left on. What I have an issue with was the bloody public circus surrounding it all. Hey look kids lets go get an icecream, see this animal killed and carved up shall we, what a great night of family entertainment! That is NOT the way to teach kids respect for animals, the circle of life or any other supposed life lesson when it come to living breathing creatures. I feel deeply for his carers and those who would have fallen in love with him along the way. Whilst what happened would have happened anyway they should have been allowed to deal with it quietly and not in public view. It is the blatant disregard for the act of tacking a living creatures life that I find too hard to swallow. I will never agree with what they did. No amount of factual arguement will make a public circus okay, ever. I also would be slightly disturbed if people wanted to pull up chairs to watch an animal being killed, I woudl think they weren't right in the head. If it is for learning, I have no issue, if it is for eating, I have no issue, if it's for a spectator sport I ahve an issue.

I would make a small safe area such as a dog run you can either fully secure with Shadecloth buried into the ground or snakemesh buried into large bluemetal stones or the ground. I have a dog yard I have fully surrounded in snake mesh and then buried it into bluemetal. I wouldn't want a pup crated at night then during the day as well.

Dog Owner Is Refusing To Have Her Pet Put Down – Even After It Savaged
OSoSwift replied to Steph M's topic in In The News
um ....yep.......me!!! -
I find the act of the death and public display was tastless and inappropriate. How we treat other living beings in life and death defines us a human beings. An animal has to die, fine, I have no issue with that ( apart from why the hell breed him int he first place?). Turning it into a spectator sport is in bad taste and not instilling values in children and people is a sad reflection on society.

Why was he bred in the first place? If they had no use for his genes I would be guessing they would have no use for a females genes either. Things die, things eat, don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with making a huge public spectacle of it. I do have an issue with the meat being fed out, I do have an issue with the public spectacle. We grow our own meat my kids are well versed in life's circle. They also know that all living creatures are to be treated with respect, even in death.

A flat collar ( or martingale slip if you have a dog or breed who may be able to back out of their collar). Harnesses are for car travel and pulling sleds. I owuld do three 5 minute sessions a day instead of 15 straight minutes. They are babies adn get bored and tired easily. Try and pre-empt a crazy session and put them outside to burn it off. Mine have a no play must be quiet inside rule. I have a small house and four people, two cats and three Whippets would be a nightmare if everyone was racing around. Same rule applies for kids. Cats are allowed as long as they don't race around knocking things off or over.

MIne go into an open crate to play bitey face, not sure why, but all you see is a tumble of legs and whippet bodies going for ages along with the odd gob of teetha nd lots of noise!

The legal case mentioned is in relation to the puppy farmer and the dogs that were siezed from her property. -

Exactly! They chose the wrong person to try and play games with! How many other people have had similar crap happen to them and actually listen to their letters threatening legal action????? A different person sharing Izzy's story got a cease and desist letter from them and contacted the CEO and told him they could not be sued for telling the truth and she wasn't going to stop. Funnily enough they backed off. Pack of wankers! -
Just about most of the stuff you read about Whippets are they are timid and hard to train.........................NOT While there are timid whippets out there I have met far more that are outgoing thatn timid. ALso I have trained three and would not class one as hard, they are far easier than my dobe ever was. Meeting them is the absolute best way to know.

Nope not crazy. I have a pretty good roar that sends most dogs and their owners packing.

At the moment some lamb chunkers and some dried buffalo and a bad cuz ball :) It can contain anything from that to roast lamb or beef, sausage or anything else they like :)

I like that suit and think it looks nice. What's wrong with a suit and runners anyway, perfectly normal! Which reminds me, I wanted to by some new shoes before the weekend :)

I bought a puppy from a similar situation to the one you are describing apart from the fact she was 8 weeks old. I euthanased her at 3 years of age due to an issue that had her parents been tested for is highly likely she would never have been affected with. It shredded my heart to pieces. I suggest you look through the breeders lists of both breeds. Choose breeders who have done all the breed appropriate health testing. Contact them. If possible go and meet them and some of their dogs. You need to figure out if you like their dogs and they are what you think will be best for your family. You also need to make sure you and the breeder get along well enough to have a good relationship post puppy purchase in case you have any issues or need any advice. A good working relationship with your breeder is Gold. When you find a breeder that does is these things put your name down for a puppy, the right puppy. The best person to help you choose the right puppy for you and your family is your breeder. They are with the puppies all the time, they will know their temperaments. It is your job to give them as much information about your situation and what you like in a dog so they can tell you which puppy is most like what you are looking for. I know what it is like to have a puppy like the one that broke my heart and I also know what it is like to have the dog that fits just right. Don't get disillusioned, go looking and you will find the perfect pup. It may take a little time but it will be worth it.

The parents should have hip and elbow tests and possibly eyes, not sure if that is Goldies or LAbs only??? But read the thread in the links and that will give you a heap of info. Remember the puppy you buy is the dog you live with for 15 years. You want to pick the healthiest, most mentally stable puppy you can. That emans buying form someone who properly health screens parents - not just a vet check - feeds them and mum correctly and well, takes care of any potential paarsites correctly and only breeds from mentally stable parents. They puppies should also be raised properly in an appropriate environment. Not only that but who will you go to if you have concerns or issues as the puppy is growing up if they are inexperienced and don't have breeder back up themselves??

One If My Dogs Has Been Hospitalised

That is fantastic progress -
I wear pants, no skirts. One day if I go a over t I want a covered :) I also like to be well presented and casual doesn't cut it. Current I wear a black suit, brightish shirt, blues mostly and black shoes.

Do not get the pup. Many bitches for many reason stop feeding babies at 4 to 6 weeks - mine were weaned by mum at just over 5, they still need to be kept together as a litter. They have so much to learn from each other and mum once they are weaned she will still spend time with them. They could put a shirt over her teats so she can still interact with the babies. My bitch had ABs for a different reason and her puppies still fed from her I just gave them a little protexin each and they had no issues what so ever. Also $900 for a byb pup. My registered babies with breeder back up cost that.

When I had my Dobe you couldn't get the corona vacc and when it came out it was regarded as not really working that well anyway so I still wouldn't have bothered. Having said that we didn't test her for corona just treated symptomatically.

Concerns Rspca Is Destroying Pets That Could Be Kept Alive
OSoSwift replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
So the RSPCA's story changes yet again and apparently Izzy and one of the pups are still alive?? So which is it you bunch of lying pricks. How dare you say Izzy's story is fabricated malicious and never happened. Changing your story to oh we killed three but two are alive and she is lying just makes you look like an even worse bunch of moronic dickheads. -
Oh goodness still entire as well!

My 9 month old Dobe was fully vaccinated - 3 puppy vaccines and came back from a show in Perth, within 48 hours she was on a drip with what the vet believed to be Corona virus. My friends Dobe was fine. Bloody nasty it was too. They can get things that are not able to be vacc'd against. If a dog is titred then I have no issue as long as the client understands that IF CC goes thorugh their dog MAY get a worse case of it than a vaccinated dog. The MAY also not get a bad case of it at all. I would never and have never taken a dog out anywhere if I have suspected they may be carrying anything and I am sure most people would be the same.

One of the reasons I didn't get a pug years ago and instead went for whippets. I adore Pufs but don't want that sort of hair through my house
