  1. Grooming involving them being dyed is not even on the same page as tattooing. There is no way you can force an unwilling dog to stand still enough for that type of grooming. Brainless morons and yes thankfully not catching!!
  2. Or if you feed your dog meat every day and then it will still work for meat as a reward? Then it wouldn't matter that you use meat to feed it every day? Yes? This intruiges me as to why. I know with some dogs it may lose it's value but I have to say with my own I find that It doesn't happen, so do I create a good enough addiction?
  3. What about if you can throw a tennis ball for a dog every day, but you use a blue ball as a training reward and they still show a huge amount of drive for that? Or a dog that is addicted enough it would send it's self into collapse chasing said ball, it would then have anough desire to get the ball to use it for training and recreation?
  4. I would still wait until later to desex him, even with a retained testicle.
  5. I don't have a program as such but I like my dogs fit. We have 5 acres around the house. The go absolutely mad chasing balls each other etc everyday until they can't run any more. They do lead walks, obedience, agility and trick training. I do a fair not of work on teaching them to jump correctly, so not lots of high stuff but lots of grids teaching them to lengthen and shorten and get a good round shape over a jump, angles etc. They free run at the beach reasonably often as well as chafing balls and swimming out to get balls. We also have a fitball that we play on. I feed mine a muscle supplement and that has helped my boy after we had done issues with muscle tears etc. I also changed their diet which had helped stamina and strength. I figure do lots of different things and get lots of different muscle groups working
  6. And the RSPCA has said they will not show the foster carers(ie a vet and previous vet nurse) any X-rays etc as it would breach confidentiality. Therefore we will never know if any were ever taken.
  7. I think it is totally inappropriate. Yes it would be uncomfortable for the dog. It is trying to recover from major surgery, it's all good we'll just chuck this in for the dog to deal with as well.
  8. Thats what I told him when I rang him because I was having difficulty getting up and he was out at sea! Maybe that is why I got the horse for my birthday??????? What happens if my dog/s are playing, person as in previously mentioned case senario. I call dog, it turns as fast as possible, isn't looking at person and something similar happens?, dog is recalling as instantly as possible. I don't do off lead dog areas and I do not see off lead areas as free for all areas at all. However to be honest sometimes shit does happen and it is an accident pure and simple. I believe walkign around with your ears plugged in is extremely rude and it annoys the crap out of me. People have no idea of their surroundings, not only could they get hurt or injured, they hurt and injure others because they have no idea what the hell is going on around them. My kids are taller now so more easily seen, but the amount of times I had to body block someone or whisk my kids out of the way whilst we were going about our business was amazing.
  9. My husbands BC took me out at speed and sent me flying big time. I landed on my head and shoulder before the rest of me hit the ground hard, giving me an instant thumping headache, skinned arm, back and hip and a very very sore pelvis. The fact he took me out on compacted gravel didn't help. Wonder who I can sue for that?? his breeder?
  10. I agree, it is a shit happens. She should have been more aware of her surroundings. If the dog ran at her and couldn't be recalled then different story. Mine own dogs have taken me out in such a manner. If it was an onlead area, then yes dog owners would be at fault.
  11. YOu can contact them I am quite sure. Personally I would delay the training to be on the safe side until you get some more answers. If he has no antibodies to a vaccine the chances of him being able to fight off a major threat to his immune system I imagine would be low as well.
  12. Can't they get another vet/breeder to double check?
  13. I do know of someone who had a pup with both down at 8 weeks then one disappeared never to be seen again!
  14. Mine were raised on a mixture of Van, raw bones and commercial dry. One pup is on a full raw diet, the others are on a mixed dry and raw bones diet. The started from around 5 weeks, mainly roo tail pieces, lamb ribs and some chicken wings. Dad is sensitive to poultry so not too much of that. They had Roo mince and VAN and some dry food so they could go onto whichever their owner would like when they went home.
  15. I have seen them and when pushed such as at PPS when the owner was trying to hold puppy quietly and firmly until it stopped wiggling. I have seen one launch into full attack mode with deep full depth teeth puncture marks. They were not holding the puppy in an weird way, the puppy was fine and was known for growling at people if asked to do something it didn't want, get moved from a lounge for example or touched when sitting or laying anywhere ( when it knew full well a person was there and it was not rough and the pup was not scared). IT did improve with patient and consistant handling and training but never a dog I would trust as if really pushed I was quite sure it would use it teeth with no bite inhibtion. I believed it was not wired correctly. I have no idea on temperaments of parents or siblings.
  16. I always walk my three together with no issues, even when Roo's are seen :) In the past I have walked a Dobe, Stafford and a Jack Russell with no issues. Did attract comments though :)
  17. Thank you for coming back and updating us. She is gorgeous and I am very glad you have a puppy and decision you are very happy with. I hope to see more of her in the future
  18. Yep without a vet check you may be waiting on a non-event, or a little heartbeat might be fading because one was not enough to set whelping in progress. To me it is not worth my dogs life potentially.
  19. I would be getting an ultrasound, then you know if there are any babies, there may only be one and labour may not start.
  20. We currently have 4. Three are mine - whippets, one is my husbands - working BC. Mind kind of all run as one. However if I need to take out just one I find it easier having three as I can leave two behind instead of one whingey arse. Two are being trained for dog sports training etc, one is retired and just has a play. The working BC may be trained in agility etc to give his OCD mind something to do, but I need to have the time which I really don't have right now. No more dogs for me, I have enough right now
  21. Great to hear they are going well. Hope your little girl continues to grow stronger and more balanced
  22. Oh and my kids do a mean sit stay :)
