  1. I got my titiles then re-applied for the new rego certificate, because I was hoping to get more than just the one. I definatley didn't send off the rego certificate, just copies of the qualifiying cards and the application form with required info for payment. The only one that was a bit of a hassle was her ROM certificate, I had to send certified copies of everything and it took forever to get her title back as I didn't know but it had to go to the National bodies once a year or something meeting, then get signed by a few different people and one didn't send it one etc. But we got it eventually
  2. Yep that is what I had, very handy! I still have it somewhere, a couple of broken bits (From tug-o-war with the Stafford!) but very much useable! Thank god I don't have to worry with Rommi - she just likes to roll in gross stuff! Pew!
  3. Glad to hear he is feeling better. I had a dog who was not let out without a basket muzzle on for the last 5 years of her life. SHe was happy enough, occasionally the Stafford would pull it off for her and we would have a few anxious moments, including her vomiting up about half a bucket full of Capeweed! Thank god that didn't stay down there of it would have been bloat surgery number 4! Hope everyone one behaves for you at least for a little while!
  4. CLip off the hair, and go out further than the sore. Wash area with Malaseb allow to sit for a good ten minutes, rinse thoroughly then allow to dry, dab with Witchhazel liquid, helps to dry it up and reduce bacteria.
  5. That's a bit sad???? I think that they are both LAT and both finishes so why are some banned????? Never though about which one is correct, just which one that works for us
  6. At the moment I am doing U turns and around the back finishes, which I also did with my last dog, she was very good, I was the unco one with the problem most of the time. I sometimes get a flip finish when I don't want it, but have never trained for it. I think I may keep on as I am ;) I do think flip finishes look very snazzy though.
  7. Have wondered about this myself. I ususally do U turns, but have been thinking about around the back LA turns as when I do the finish she goes around. Having said that she is very good at flipping her bum around and landing in line up position from just about anywhere. I am also worried that we will both end up confused and she will try to do a behind the back LAturn when all I want to do is a left turn??? Now I am not sure what to do, flips and Uturns or behind the back finishes and finishes around there as well? Is it to confusing for the dog to do Uturns, but around the back finishes?
  8. Great result Man and Dida. So good to hear she is travelling along well. Good luck to you both.
  9. My dog got it when a puppy, then my old dog caught it. Non of the cats or us were affected.
  10. Well done Rappie and Co!!!! Demodex can be a real bugger can't it! Great to see such a handsome young lad end up where he deserves! My boss once went to lunch and we had 3 dumped kittens in need of homes. He came back and I told him we had rehomed one of the kittens. Great, he asked how many to go? My reply 8. He was like what! Oh i had a box of kittens brought in that had been seen, being dumped in an industrial area in a plastic bag under some trees. He just shook his head and said it wasn't even safe to go to lunch! Even funnier he took two home which many years down the track, he still has. Even the boss can be a softy sometimes
  11. No worries, glad to be of help! Have a great time training flyball and many other things. We have been a bit slack of late, need to get back into it!
  12. Wow you have had a very stressful time. A fantastic picture of you both, glad to see she is improving, can't add anything useful, but good luck from us.
  13. I had a dog on daily Metacam for over 3 years. She never had adverse reactions of any sort and had a very sensitve digestive system due to three dilatation/bloat surgeries and could only eat Euk F&P for the last 5 years of her life. Towards the very end she also had regular acupuncture which she loved and helped enormously. SHe started on Cartrophen and Sasha's Blend, but eventually that wasn't helping by it's self.
  14. I use seperate clickers for each dog and for the horse. My Whippet LOVES working and tricks, maybe she is broken ! Good luck
  15. I am a memeber of my local obedience club and also my breed club. I love being a member of a club, but I don't necessarily want to train with them all the time
  16. My Dobe had that inbetween the outside toe on each front foot. It was from rubbing, never turned into anything nasty or problematic :D
  17. Too bad you're in Esperance, we could be training buddies :D . I would love to have you as my training buddy, but I think 750kms may be a little far to drive! When training/trialling my previous dog I had a training buddy, but was the motivator for two! Always checking up that they were practicing certain things, reminding them to get entries in etc. I would love an equally motivated buddy, so would love to have someone like you Tiggy Even though trialling is not going to happen for me really soon, hopefully a few years in the future, I always train as though I am trialling, never know, might be able to get a trial in when visiting Perth - I can live in hope!
  18. My first dog was trained from a Club, but we had a class specifically for people wanting trialling training, not just pet. My current dog had not seen a class until she was 16 months old. She could do everything and do it well, but really needed to retain her focus under distraction. We only go every second week (Hubby works 12 hour shifts every second weekend, so no baby sitter!) and I use artistic license quite often in class! She is now working quite well with distraction and due to being in season missed her graduation day so is still in class one - but who cares! It is my social kid free time and we love it! Some people think I am a bit wierd because I don't allow her to play with all the dogs, I remove her if people keep allowing their dog to come up to mine. My main reason for this is she did see the dogs as a higher reward than me! So I am I guess trying to neutralise her to dogs a little, although I am happy for her to play with dogs, just not when we are working - at all. I think clubs have there place, but if I had the option I would form a connection with a small group of triallers with a common goal.
  19. Normally around 2.5kgs!!!!!!! Holly crap no wonder she is having issues!!! If her owner is not having her back are you going to keep her???
  20. Advocate kills adult fleas, Sentinel spectrum stops the eggs they lay from hatching, but doesn't kill the adults. I am not sure about the rest of it though as I haven't used any Sentinel products for over 10 years! Online is far cheaper, even including postage compared to anyone else down here. I got mine from Vet N Pet direct from memory.
  21. HAve you consulted a Natropathic vet? either by phone or consult? they may be able to make up something to help boost her immune system.
  22. I have a soft piece of cotton rope to use as a muzzle as you can make the loop and get it over the nose quite easily and quickly, bit harder to get bitten. I really need to go through mine and have a big chuck out/restock as it is totally out of date! I also need a new bag/container. I also have a roll of cotton wool and a 1 litre bag of sterile saline in mine, the cotton wool roll is mainly for bandaging horses legs, but the maniac is now gone. It is also good to put under a wrap on a dog as you are less likely to make the wrap too tight.
  23. I am more than happy for a yearly check, get hearts checked, lungs etc - after losing two Dobes to heart disease and my old Stafford with a heart murmer, I sometimes get them checked even more often!- and a three yearly vaccination. I can then also stock up on wormers etc ask any questions and we are all happy. With my oldies I will quite often get them a 6month check up, so they definately won't be losing any money out of me!
  24. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon, how worrying! I agree a full blood screen is a really good place to start with just about any illness, particularly those that are not immediately obvious.
  25. My clipper hand is itching uncontrolably! I am having visions of a number 10 blade all over and a couple of dog coats. I just couldn't stand my dog to look like that!
