Tis okay 'cause I am a big sooky lala at the best of times! Virtual chokky cake does sound good though - because I can't have it in real life! Hope your plants are beautiful and covered in flowers in no time!
-
Aww Deelee you made me cry all over again! I wish I was closer so we could have a theraputic chocolate cake and a cry together
-
I have to agree a little with that one. Talking is okay with me, barking at me if I ask them to do something they don't want, is not! Our Stafford never shuts up, but he has never growled, grumped or barked if he has been told off or stopped from doing something he was enjoying that I didn't want him to. If he did he would be frog marched to the dog run.

Oh Deelee - I am really feeling for you all at the moment. You know I fully support you in your decision. It is really hard and you will feel guilty, but try not too. You have put in far more time and effort than most. I just want to give you a big hug and cry with you - I even have tears writting this! HUgs to you all from us.

Check out the happy paws ones, they have many different types and have no fat. Just a thought to have the possibilty for some different treats from time to time for doggies with sensitive tummies

Oh even better news, great effort on your behalves! -
Oh have lots of fun. I did my ET just out of Kalgoorlie and we had to wash the ice off the windscreen that morning! Our excitement was an Emu deciding to join in for a little while! Loved doing it, had a great time. Enjoy yourselves

You are so brave I couldn't do that, I can't even handle them without gloves on when bagging up or feeding out. Raw meat just feels awful! I like nice feeling treats!

We had a recently graduated Guide dog that ate his owners dressing gown. He was very sick and required surgery. He lsot 50 cm of his bowel, but returned to work and was happy and healthy. It didn't show up on xray and he had surgery as soon as he had barium and it didn't move thorugh. I would go to a specialist and get on with the surgery quick fast!

Flucort Domoso Roll On For Dogs

It is great stuff! Can give them breathe that smells like garlic though! DMSO is very rapidly absorbed through the skin in horses and dogs. I have used it mainly on horses for bowed tendons and back soreness. I have never seen it in the saddlers over here, but will look as my Clydie mare could do with some. Exiflam Gel is also the same sort of ingredients but much stronger and only available via prescription - or at least it was. It is a potent anti inflammatory and pain killer. -
I would say, nope probably not I would say any dog getting confused is because they either don't really know the exercise and are not overly confident yet, or as leather is leather it is really hard to get lingering smells out of the articles even when thay are aired correctly.

Short and sweet for clicker training here as well. I LOVE it when I start clicker training a new baby puppy and all of a sudden - bing- light goes on! I have seen it many times and never ever tire of it. I think my defining moment was starting clicker at all, to be honest

Also a vote from us for Happy Paws treats Rommi loves the fish ones, we will try Rabbit next time - we would be interested (in time) to try your other flavours as well, we like lots of variety ;) Chunkers no longer cut the mustard in our house - since happy paws! Roast chicken, left over sausage, beef, chicken And for my old girl, sausage cut up, then soaked in the juice from a tin of sardines

What a lovely ring and a lovely reminder of your girl.

What wonderful words you have written - I have tears pouring down my cheeks. What a wonderful way to remeber her. RIP Molly, My girl "Angel" will be waiting to play with you, as she also waits until we can all meet up again. HUgs to you and your fur kids

That is fantastic we have all paws and fingers crossed for you both. Great to hear he is a much happier boy. -
Can you put your raw vegies through a vegetable juicer and mix the pulp and juice back together and feed that?
-
So very sorry to hear of Molly's diagnosis. It is something we never wnat to hear. It sounds like you have had a fantastic life together, so much fun and love. Now you have the ability to be able to give her the greatest gift you can. A peaceful passing with you holding her close. As Erny has already said, we have all been through something similar before so we can empathise with the hearbreak you are and will feel. It is normal to feel guilty, but please don't. You have given her the best life she could of had and you are putting her first in all of your decisions now. Take peace from that. I am crying for what you are going through. Hugs from us all

I Think I've Missed Something Here...
OSoSwift replied to persephone's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
We don't swap dogs, even at puppy pre-school and all of my dogs have happily been taken into the ring at different times and handled beautifully. I have in the past handed over my 10mo bitch to be shown, she was never the same again. Turns out our training methods and what was acceptable were quite different. I would never allow someone to take my dog to try to train something - e.g obedience as it is too easy to end up with a confused or 'broken' dog unless it was someone I knew very well and trusted. Even then it would be extremely rare. I would never take someones dog to train unless they had asked me too, or were having a specific problem that they wanted me to take the dog for. I think it is a HUGE honour for someone to hand over their dogs lead, or horses reins to me. I feel very priviledged if someone does. -
So sorry to hear what is happening. I don't that a dog may be "old" I still don't want them to go!!! I really hope for you that it is not cancer. It is easy to say try not to think about it, but I am the WORST for the what if's. I had my nearly 15yo cat at the vets today and whilst there is nothing specific, there is something not right! I am also waiting for blood results, so I can sypathise a little, although he doesn't have any lumps somewhere he shouldn't! As Robbi said, try to do fun stuff and take it one day at a time, do lots of fun stuff and eat icecream together. Thinking of you both. Hugs from us.

Does he exersize very much? Is he lethargic or full of energy? Has he got new shiney coat coming through? What is his skin like - dry/flakey/okay? Photos?
-
It looks like it's on the back of her hock?? If she is an older dog it may just be an age related skin growth/tag. My aged Stafford has lots of little lumps and skin tags. If you are worried get it removed, if it's very tiny and your dog is pretty compliant they may be able to remove it under sedation and local?
-
Not all dogs have them, some have single dew claws and some have double. Usually they are removed because they are reasonably floppy and the nails can grow very quickly and they can catch on things and hook together whilst they are running along-which of course is very painful and results in a dog landing in a screaming heap. I would remove hind dewclaws as a matter of routine. If not as babies(don't breed so won't have this choice!) then when they are desexed. If they have fairly thick bone they can leave a decent sized wound, DO NOT let the dog lick or chew at them at all as this can complicate healing and they will pull open and take forever!
