My dogs train, and do dog sports - have titles- and they are just pet dogs as well. very occassionally they spend a majority of the day in their yard with each oterh but no humans. I cannot take them everywhere and it is not a reasonable expectation.

So sorry to hear that your girl is unwell I have not had this in nnay of my own dogs but have seen it many times with clients of the vet hospitals I worked in. I made the decision long ago that should my dog be diagnosed with this they would be euthed straight away. I aahve seen many have amputations - mainly on big dogs as you would expect - and they really don't cope very well. Then it comes back anyway. Such a horrible disease

Yes their information had changed now and I believe the current recommendation is not to use it on a dog you want later for stud. You could always collect as insurance and I certainly would now

Weeellllllll No we shouldn't but I was told lots of stuff about it and it wasn't until I had issues, started researching and finding info from overseas drug applications for registration and started a thread on here that I discovered I wasn't alone and there was issues.

Whippet, they can hunt, don't each much, snuggle happily and are good fun. If I was stranded on a desert island I would dare anything to try and attack me, a dog would be the least of their worries!

If I did give it I would only ever give the 6 month one as the 12 month one I gave my boy lasted 2.5 years. I was going to go the 6 month but got talked into the 12month one with information that has now been chnaged and even from a short discussion on here is proven wrong now.

I haven't used it on a large breed, but I have been told that due to it reducing testosterone to the same levels as surgical castration that if you implant a young dog it may well not fill out as it would if it had full levels of hormones. If they do fill out after the implant wears off??? I am not sure.

To me it looked like the dog knew him. Either he was already known to the dog or had spent done time getting to know him/bribe him. I would imagine most GSD's would bark and carry on at least a little bit, he was in and out that quite I would doubt the dog even barked.

One vaccine - using intranasal is required in an adult dog. For reasons already mentioned. Immunity can take a little time which is why it is said immunity can take 10 to 14days

I scale my own dogs teeth with no worries. They are used to staying still having their nose held, mouths open etc.

Poor boy but why do they have a harness on him with all those sore areas and sutures and drains???? I personally think it is more liekly to be sickos than an organised fighting ring - if they get caught they should just be shot on the spot.

If he does well on a food I wouldn't rotate it, I would let his gut settle as he is less likely to have flair ups and only change if necessary.

A dry food's ability to soak depends on if it has oil sprayed over it to make it looke more appertising. The dry looking dry foods don't look as appertising as the ones that have a light coating of oil. They ones with oil do not soak as well in water but do fine in a stomach where there is stomach acid to digest the food.

Unfortunately Turkey is out, but thank you, I ma owrkign thorugh the suggestions. Homemade isn't possible right now, but will not rule it out for the future

Sounds like you are doing a great job and no they won't just grow out if it they need manners instilled as they don't come just knowing what we want. Unfortunately that is what you get, especially at dog parks. Don't worry about being rude, if you are training firmly tell them you are training and to get their dog or themselves out of his face, most times you just have to be rude!!!!!!!! I was at a park a little while ago, no other dogs but there was a BBQ happening in one corner kids playing etcetc. I was training my dog - he is a very proficient off lead worker and ignores other dogs and people- in a quite corner. I had left him for a formal recall when this stupid cow walks up squealing how he is just like "" and calls him. I was like what the f is wrong with you, you have been watching me work this dog and heard me tell him to stay but that doesn't matter as you want to pat the whippet. I called him and released him to say hello, he have her a cursory glance let her pat him then came back asking to work. People are just dumb!

Shit, now I am looking for another food for my kennels.................
