If there side of the fence is still the same maybe offer to fix it up, that way you will not be in the same situation again - even though I do not believe you are in any way at fault. You are obviously torn as you are a caring person. If the fence is fixed (on their side) then you can both breathe a little easier, as for wether or not to pay anything off the bill, well I am just glad it isn't me as I think I would be in the same situation of not being able to make up my mind. Good luck and they are very lucky people to have you as their neighbour. Oh also if the fractures were greenstick ones - quite likely in such a young animal- they do heal quite quickly as they are not broken and displaced like a normal fracture.

Any Advice Re A Whippet With A Sprained Hip?
OSoSwift replied to Stormy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The lady that did bowen on Lewis hadn't done it on many dogs but was more than happy to do it for me (I was getting Bowen myself). I was very happy with the results. -
We have a young one that went through our Puppy preschool and is now at dog Club. She was bred by a Doler and is the sweetest thing. Extremely biddable, little bit excitable, but not in a bowl you over kind of way, and loves everyone. She is still young and I am sure will only get better with age. The other two I have known are from a breeder in WA I wouldn't recommend, they were quite different from the one we have now.

Snail Bait Poisoning In Dogs

With very intensive nursing they can pull through. It is not a guarentee they will, but your puppy may. All the positive thoughts I can muster for you and your baby. -

Jeez what a predicament! I am praying very hard for you to get her back Tris. So so sad that someone could do this to an innocent dog. Maybe the vet can offer to buy her off the adoptee and then you guys can buy her back for the same amount? I know you don't have heaps of money but is something like that possible? -
Any Advice Re A Whippet With A Sprained Hip?
OSoSwift replied to Stormy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would second the Greyhound Person and swiming if you can - in a heated pool of course! Hope she recovers quickly for you Oh and I had Bowen done on Lewis and was amazed at the improvement after only one treatment and a couple of days. By the end of his treatments - brilliant! -
Have done the banking transfer Thanks again

She does Ness really she does - but just imagine a PM box exploding with people wanting to and have given you money! Now that would have to be just a teeny tiny bit exciting. I am guessing Ptolomy's dogs are hoping no-one pays so they get to have the biggest pile ever of I-squeeks!!!!!!!!!!woohooooo.

Excellent As soon as I get the details I will pay you Thank you so much

Go do wee's, go do poo's, toilet (means just do whatever you need to do) and if they are taking for ever - quickly. My old girl would give you which one you asked for unless of course there was nothing to give. The funny thing with her was if you told her toilet and she didn't need to go, she would squat so you would let up and leave her alone!

Sounds very odd, interested to know what the evental outcome and diagnosis is. As you have been told, they cannot herniate anything infront of their front leg. Suture line, yeh it happens, but if it was long enough after her surgery for her sutures to be removed and her to go to a new home, then I haven't seen it - not impossible, but very unusual. I gather from an earlier post she is coming back to you? Hope all is okay. -
A Couple Of "household With Two Dogs" Questions ..
OSoSwift replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
That is the main consideration for me, the cost. Can I afford to have another dog and get all the things I need to keep them in the fashion I want to. Can I afford extra vets fees? I would have more dogs tomorrow, but the costs of adding another dog is always analysed, over analysed and then gone over again. -
If I think they need it, have gone to the beach and actually gotten wet (Lewis never gets wet!) or they have rolled in something gross. Now I have Lewis it is probably around the 2 month mark. As he has lots of white and we have gravel, his whites get dirty and I wash them for that reason, not because they smell. Their beds quite often as they get grotty and the Stafford has skin issues so his bedding can smell a bit doggy in a shorter time. The whippets beds get washed but not as often as they don't get as dirty.

Excellent - thank you

A Couple Of "household With Two Dogs" Questions ..
OSoSwift replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
I probably do more with my dogs than I did before. But that is the life I choose, I a home body. I don't just go away for the weekend, having two young kids it's all too hard. They spend as much time inside as one, they get trained seperately and walked together and seperately. I also have less room on the lounge - now I have two dogs trying to get inside my skin instead of one. As much as Rommi enjoys Lewis's company and companionship I think she still gets jealous of him and would sometimes wish he would go back to were he came from. -
Bladder Issues - Any Suggestions Appreciated
OSoSwift replied to Pugmum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have just read all of this thread and I am so sorry to hear of the prognosis you are facing. I guess you do have an answer, but not the one anyone would like to get. I hope the results come back as something not sinister. Good Luck and lots of positive thoughs and Whippet kisses from us. -
Any news yet Ptolomy? Not wanting to bug you, just wondering if you had heard so I can pay you
-
I was also wondering if during courtship they shared long stories of family trees to make sure they were not breeding too close/??????? Somehow me thinks not - Bloody idiots!
-
I was thinking Border Collie type daddy as well. All I know is that baby sure is cute! Tell her not to worry by the time bub is 6 to 8 weeks out, she will be bolting out the door to go for a great walk. What a great job you are all doing.

absolutely ridiculous. Lost for words at just how stupid it is. Better take mine as well as my dogs and cats sometimes like playing with each other, sometimes don't.

Ouchie ... Thanks Goodness Its Dark When I Walk!

Hope your hip is okay. I can sympathise, think Stafford and Dobe running along together bouncing off each other and mouthing each other. Run from bhind me, swing bum out at wrong moment, legs taken out flat on my back! Once I got my breath back I decided it was good I lived on a far as if anyone had of seen it they would have killed themselves laughing! -
They obviously need to waste more money. I agree Caesar is a person who has put training and exercising your dog high up in peoples minds. That cannot be a bad thing. I may not agree with everything he does, but he has helped a lot of people change their relationship with their dog and they now both have much better lives. I hope they watch and realise there is nothing to fine him with and let him get on with it.

The labelling says 'Product of Thailand'. The human-grade mackerel and sardines I buy for my dogs also say 'Product of Thailand'. Ah sorry, happy to be corrected, brain fuzz. I avoid tuna for human consumption from there, but do feed my dog Homebrand Sardines which are most likely from the same place. I was also wondering about price comparison I guess the dog food is possibly more expensive than Homebrand Sardines.

A call to the vet most definately. They should listen and you should be confident you are getting what you require for your dog. Hope all is well.

YAY for the beautiful chokky-spot pointer I claim to have found her first... Post #22 http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...68531&st=15 Congratulations to all tonight's winners! Zoli is beautiful isn't she! Even if she does beat me regularly over here. That's ok the girl I show is only a puppy. So Jenny won BIS ? Excellent, I haven't seen Zoli and Chip in the flesh, but her others are stunning. One day, one day I am going to have a GSP, but it needs to be one of Bailey's babies - he is my favourite GSP ever - the look he gives you melts your heart.
