  1. That is very funny Erin My OH's usual reply is "I don't want to know" when it come's to the costs of the dogs. Showing has taken a back seat these days due to two young kids and an at least 480km one way trip for a country show, however he used to shudder and definately not want to know back then.
  2. Food smelling hands are fine, even pockets that have had food in them, but are empty before you go in are fine. Goodluck to everyone that is trialing/showing
  3. Dislikes Out of date information Glittery rubbish, music and those annoying curser things only one photo of a dog. Poorly written info. People that advertise contacts which you try and contact them through, then never get a reply. Like to see Photos stacked and relaxed. I like to see photos of dogs in every day life All health testing results Pedigrees Some photos and comments of puppies in pet homes. Relevant links Any show or other titles/results A litter page with some photos of the babies on it. A bit of info about the breeder, not a life story but why they got into their breed and the sorts of things they do with their dogs. And idea on prices - not exact amounts, but something like $800 to $1500 depending on show/pet or any other conditions that may apply. There is nothing worse than trying to research a dog breed then finding out they are way above your price range, or having to waste a breeders time to then find out they are outside your price range.
  4. DO you have any pictures of them Ness? I had one years ago but it has somehow got lost. Not sure who made it a friend from Perth gave it to me.
  5. Hello and welcome Rottperth, gorgeous dogs. Sorry to hear about your mare Labrat. I have an oldie or two myself, my little Pali is 26, my Clyde 19 (but an old 19) and then I have a cheeky youngster. It is hard to lose them no matter what their ages are. My SIL lost her 35 year old mare this year and it was very upsetting for all of us as well. Lots of hugs from us.
  6. Not heaps of inof here, but it may help you An old thread I started a little while ago
  7. Yep Hello, do you have your puppy as yet?
  8. HI and welcome to DOL. Yep you sound excited that is great, hope everything works out and you will have your new bundle before you know it
  9. Yep very good point Erny. If it was a bit colder I would just put coats on them.
  10. Yep bought something - need to add to my list, one very lovely Whippet shirt
  11. I don't think you can stop them spinning, but if you want to stop the air flow i.e winter I think you have to block them off with some thin plastic like a icecream container lid or thick cardboard. Sorry don't know lots about them.
  12. Um Sorry? The reason for that was what exactly?
  13. I always put them in as crossebreeds, but as I was the "odd' one who , god forbid, actually liked to show my dog and do obedience traing and trialling with her - I was the only one who did. The others swallowed the crap!
  14. RIP Beam. I am quite sure you will feel very sad, you witnessed something that was horrific. However because of you a little dog didn't lay in a back yard all day with no help in awful pain. Her owner got to see her once last time and get her the best help she could. I know I would be extremely grateful to you. Give yourself a big hug for doing something great in a very trying circumstance.

I also don't understand how people can think they are for the benefit of pets or dogs in particular. You would have to be living under a rock to not know that these idiots are exactly that. Oh and I do agree they are terrorists not animal activists. I cannot condone the death, destruction and violence they use and are proud to say they use, to get a message across.
  16. Can't really say as yet, fairly typical young pup but seem quite eager to learn. This particular one is a bit yappy, it's brother was very quiet and laid back.
  17. Had similar conversations before myself. Leaves you shaking your head. Went into the vets the other day to see a wanted poster. Wanted a Poodle (Standard, Mini or toy) to mate with my GR X Poodle. She is 12 months old and - just had a baby mouse run over my keyboard!!! Anyhow.... ready to have her first litter. Yeh like hell. I did meet them at dog training. She constantly growled at it for being a puppy and having a short attention span. It at times has already shown some dog aggression, but hey it is a perfect dog to breed from because it is allergy free and has a wool coat so never sheds! Arrrghhhhhhh! Now off to hunt that baby mouse that fell on my footthen ran away!
  18. RIP Bonnie, run free and fast with no more pain.
  19. If you are not worried about saving a relationship, then I would seriously think about emailing the breeder anyway as they obviously only have the backyard to keep her in and that is not adequate. If she isn't pregnant this time, she may well be next time. I also agree if it is too hard to go to the vets for a needle it will be too hard for a caesar. Good luck with what you choose to do.
  20. Hmm our PPS One evening - the smaller Breeds - 8 DD's of various mixes Other evening - 1 X PB Bull Terrier rego'd 1 X PB GSP rego'd 1 X Dobe PB rego'd 1 X Lab X Kelpie 1 x Kelpie XXXXX 1 Stafford X Am Staff 1 X Cattle dog cross 1 BC X OES I think that is all. Designer fluffies far out weight PB's in ours and also and it is not often you get PB rego'd although they are becoming more predominant as people are realising it doesn't cost a fortune or is a huge hassle to get them flown down.
  21. OMG - how horrible for you and the dog! It seems you have it all under control now, I CANNOT believe the vet said leave it there!!!!!!! WTF - I would have grabbed it and bolted to the vet (As long as they were not huge savage dogs!) especially since you know who her vet is. I would like to think - god forbid- if my dogs did the same thing they would take the injured one to a vet for me. Hope all is okay. If the one who was attacked is very skinny it may be unwell and that has been the catalyst for the fight? Survival of the fittest???, younger dog trying to take over leadership???
  22. Great to hear she has come through her surgery with no hiccups. Sending lots of healing vibes and Whippity kisses to all
  23. I would also want to know if it was a dog I had bred. It is a small world and people are going to find out. If it is in around the first 4 or 5 weeks of her pregnancy she can be aborted as far as I know. Also depending on her breed, Stafford X pups can have boofy heads and get stuck. Is she up for a caesar? A/H's possibly as well????? Give her a run down of all the potential disaters and you may be able to sway her. If their is a reason possibilty of a Caesar I would ask her if she has a few thousand dollars to lose? (Could cost that if after hours and depending on vets charges) Also all babies may die and then cannot even try to re-coup money towards the costs. I feel for you, but I would send an email asking the breeder not to identify it was me that told them, but at least they have the knowledge early in the piece.

The sooner these morons get wiped out the better. If she would prefer an empty void where she should be I am sure that there are many more than happy to make it happen. My FIL has hat with PETA on it, underneath........People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. Bloody idiots. Yes I do not agree with battery hens, pigs and a few other things, but as for no companion animals - she can stick it up her jumper!
  25. Um yes ....*ears prick up*.........Nice whippet t-shirts, please tell me more???? had to rummage through old posts to find it. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=172631&hl= Thank you will go and have a look and no doubt buy something!
