Touchy Subject But Need Advice Or Help.
OSoSwift replied to Danielle's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think the kindest thing for the puppy and the safest for the people and child is for the dog to be euthed. If your friend cannot step up, take responsibilty and do it then offer to take the dog yourself. I have done it before, cried many tears but at least I knew the dog would not suffer at the hands of someone wanting a nasty dog or a yard guard dog. I imagine her ears are already ringing from the serve you have given her, so you probably won't need to tell her again. Hopefully she has learnt a very valuable lesson -
Excellent to hear. Hope she recovers quickly

maybe plug it into a timer? Veey good suggestion. I will do that myself!

I have ordered the X large soft crate. I needed it, no really I did..................

I use mine turned on all the time and there is a blanket on top of the mattress. I though it was a heat pad that caused the problem in the breeders thread. Not the 9 volt mattress - may be wrong though

Any news?

I would not enter her. Her potential long term soundness would be far more important to me than a two day training clinic. I would also take her to the vet, but I may just be a drama queen??.....................

Sorry I cannot agree that there is probably not anything wrong with them. To do that to animals is sick and I am quite sure most human beings could not watch on, particularly repeatedly, while animals are pitted against one another and rip each other apart. It is proven that people that like to harm, torture and kill animals quite often go onto worse - I am not sure that animals life being taken is worse as such than taking a humans - all are wrong. But there is scientific proof that these people are more likely to do it, so to me that says that they do have a problem and they do have something wrong with them.

Banshee Off To The Vet Again
OSoSwift replied to yellowgirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
;) ;) A stump Pyo - you sure do get some curly ones!! Hopefully the antibiotics clear it up for good. -
I have used Claratyne ( as it is what I have for me) for bee stings and it worked well. Haven't used it for grass/contact allergies though.

HOpe all is okay. She sure does keep you on your toes! -
Could not agree more

Fingers crossed all is going okay with your friends dog. An exploratory laparotomy will be able to check out for any tumours as well. Hopefully if it is an obstruction it is easily removed and she recovers well.

OMG - horrendous. Go Rescue Inc. I see some orthopedic surgeons have a raise in income after these guys have visited an area. They should do the same to the idiot dog owners as they have done to the dogs. That poor dog in the elevator. The dog jumps up and it looks as though he pats it then he sends it flying and lays in the boot again, whilst holding the lead. Me/him/elevator/baseball bat! That guy with the dog fightning ring should just be shot, only good thing for him. He will not be able o be rehabed if he is that twisted. Best he is removed from society

Pretty normal as far as I can see. I have doggy wash day. 10 or so Polar fleece blankets. The covers from two foam beds, 6 dog coats and 3 collars. So yours looks a bit tame by comparision! I do wonder why I have that many dogs blankets when they mostly sleep on the lounge? I do crate them and have them in the dog runs from time to time though
-
No I wouldn't. Not sure I could as I looked at my two horses eating their dinner. I do not have allergy problems that are that severe I need to resort to it. If I did then maybe my opinion would change. Beef, chicken, lamb, goat - I can handle all those, but no not horse, not here.

Dog runs, crates and seperate yards. Been doing it for 12 years and never had a problem. Oh and there is absolutely no way I would board an entire in season bitch - ever!

I am more worried by the reports of intestinal blokages and the swelling after they have been consumed. Apart from the fact they are like vivied green. Too much food colouring for my liking.

Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)
OSoSwift replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
Fanatstic to see your posts Jed. I was wondering about your dogs but did not want to ask, so thank you for that. I am so pleased you are keeping Phoenix. She will always be a little bit extra special that one. I am so glad to hear your grafts have taken well - apart from the arm one and your are wearing your pressure gramnets. They will make sure that your scars are as minimal as possible. You are such a brave lady Jed. I think of you everyday and send healing vibes to you and cuddles and kisses to your dogs waiting for you when you are able to have them with you again. I am sure you are all getting a little impatient on that front. Hope you continue to heal well. -
I get some chews from here http://www.australianpettreatcompany.com.au/ ,but not the dried bones and use raw bones as well.

Do Your Dogs Sleep/snuggle Up Together?
OSoSwift replied to Magstar's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep always. The whippets have a tendecy to "drape" across things and they tend to pile on top of each other. They never lay down not touching someone or another dog. Lewis has no idea about personal space and drapes over a human just as happily as d raping over Rommi. The Stafford is old and has a sore back so he will lay next to the WHippets, but doesn't like to be draped on.
